Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

I will continue to have fond memories of those toy-based 80’s based cartoons till the day I die. I was a major transformers fanboy back in the day. Though I remember trying to rewatch the first episode a few years ago and just having to stop halfway through. It was just so...not bad, but not like I remembered. Who here remembers Optimus Prime being voiced like John Wayne?

That said I’m pretty sure Phineas and Ferb remains my favorite of all time (for now at least).

Robin Hood in Soywood forest!
Modern CGI at it's finest. A Youtube Original!

This is what western animation has become
Looks like Gwen Tennyson,

Anyway was there a further shitshow over How to train a Dragon 3? I know furries were mad Toothless wasnt gay

Wait, what? Why would they obsess over wanting a dragon to be gay? I could have sworn they'd want either HIccup or Astrid to be the gay one, not Toothless.

Guess you can never underestimate the stupidity of the fans.

Anyone familiar with the upcoming 2020 Scooby-Doo movie set to kick off the H-B Cinematic Universe? Well, we got a first look at who's voicing some of the characters.

I like Will Forte but I don't know if he can pull off Shaggy unless it's a new interpretation of the character and not just a Casey Kasem impression.

What happened to Matthew Lillard, the former live-action Shaggy who has also been the voice of cartoon Shaggy ever since Casey Kasem retired from the role?

Speaking of Scooby-Doo, while Mattel has released the Mystery Machine van as a Hot Wheels car several times since, if I remember correctly, 2012, they've just put Mystery Machine-themed graphics on an entirely different car, a Batmobile, specifically the one from the Batman: The Brave and the Bold animated series.

It's the wrong Batmobile but it's still more or less come full circle from when I was around 5 years old and started noticing that the cartoon version of Robin from Superfriends and reruns of the 1960s Filmation The Adventures of Batman a.k.a. Batman with Robin the Boy Wonder sounded weirdly like Shaggy and also that guy who played songs on the radio on weekend afternoons.

I assume he can't pull off Shaggy anymore, except voice-wise.

Lillard's the current voice for most media these days if you've followed the DTV movies and the shows released as of Mystery Incorporated. As for why he isn't returning here, dunno. Maybe he auditioned but WB went with Forte because he's a bigger name?

@Munchingofish already pointed out that it's animated but I should add that, even if it had been for live-action, Will Forte (b. June 17th, 1970) is just under five months younger than Matthew Lillard (b. January 24th, 1970).

Now it makes even less sense.

By the way, apparently the movie will have Captain Caveman in it, so I assume they're going to construct a cinematic universe around all those mystery solving shows from the 70s. (Of course, Mystery Incorporated already did something like that...)
