Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Can we talk about Ninjago, by that I mean, best seasons, where and if it fell off, best characters, etc.? I personally think the show ended with March of the Oni, as that was the last "season" animated by Wilfilm and even ended on the 100th episode of the show. The new Wildbrain artstyle looks like goyslop shit, and I hate it so fucking much, what an absolute downgrade from the Oni Trilogy.
This is when it fell off.

I don't know if it's goyslop but it's definitely some kind of slop.

Cool theme song, but I never got into it.

If we are talking about LEGOs, I want to throw in that it was such a missed opportunity to not build a series from LEGO City Undercover. Chase McCain is genuinely one of the best protagonists LEGO ever made, yet has been sidelined hard.

They did eventually make a show based on LEGO City, but it is some lame new cast that somehow comes off even more for children than the very outright children’s game.

Did any of the character artists work on Treasure Planet? 'Cus the main dude is looking real familiar.
Sergio Pablos worked as a supervising animator for Dr. Doppler before he directed and co-created Klaus, for which he’s also credited as a character designer.

Ah yes, Cartoon Network, make yet another nigger-centric cartoon right as the general populace is experiencing nigger fatigue. And you wonder why you're dying.
I am actually :optimistic:Optimistic, since at leas the setting is actually based off Africa instead of having forced iversity, the worst being blackwashing popular characters.
Then again, the series reminds me of Onyx Equinox.

So I watched The Day The Earth Blew Up with my brother yesterday after convincing him to watch it over Nezha 2 and Dog Man. We had a great experience and laughed at quite a few of the jokes. I am impressed by the quality of the animation. Especially a certain scene where Daffy, Porky and Petunia deal with the alien threat for the first time. Highly recommend this film, 8/10.

What's really unpleasant and disheartening about the Looney Toons is that really, WB has never really known what to do with them. Looney Tunes were kept alive on TV reruns for decades, even in the American animation wasteland era of the 1970s and 1980s the originals were still shown regularly - but when the 1990s came how did WB capitalize on the long-time popularity and recognizability of the "franchise" in the wake of a renewed interest in animation in America? A "Looney Tunes Kids" show and tons of junk merchandise.

WB making the licensing fee for the LT shorts so expensive even CN won't pay for it is just a typical case of corporate greed where the greedy party shoots themselves in the foot. Like an eBay seller sitting on an unsold listing for years refusing to drop the price because "I know what I got!"

don't forget the celebrity-starring cashgrab!
I like Space Jam unironically and like it or not it had a lasting legacy on pop culture. People love referencing it and Lola Bunny still exists even though they have retooled her character a couple of times not to mention furry shit.
The film while flawed still has memorable moments and interesting ideas.

Tiny Toons also existed and I think the first real major fucking flop was Loonatics. Removing the shorts and having no real show until the 2010s when cable was already beginning to die was a bad idea. Disney always had their classic films and princesses so not running shorts after say House of Mouse went away didn't really hurt them not to mention they have cheaply made shows like Mickey Mouse Playhouse for toddlers.

It's very telling that Kiwifarms is the first and only place I hear about this new Loony Tunes movie. I'm in quite a few animation circles and there has been no mention of this flick whatsoever. Must say, I'm a bit ashamed of myself even. I'm usually good at knowing what is coming out and/or is in production, and not knowing about this film until it got released almost makes me want to relinquish my self-made title of being an animation insider.
Oddly, I already knew and was anticipating this film since a long time ago. The problem is that Caribbean Cinemas, the main theatre chain in Puerto Rico, is not showing the film until the 27.
At leas they actually had this in the 'Coming Soon' section since last year.

If you somehow missed this film and are that desperate in supporting 2D animation, you should book a trip to Puerto Rico. You do not need a US passport if you are a US citizen.

Remember when they tried to bring back Recess as adults, with Mikey having died and Gus having trooned out?
...I actually needed to look up your comment.
I hope that Donald Trump's election caused a premature cancellation of Recess: The Next Bell.

Really I think it was just Disney saying no because they realized 90s nostalgia is all but dead and we're moving to late 2000s and holy hell....2010s nostalgia at this point.

The MSN likes to SAY trump's reelection and the public opinion finally swaying away from wokeshit is why stuff like next bell got axed, The Trans character in Pixars baseball show, and of course the gatekeeper episode of moon girl were all shelved, but one must remember cam's razor.

The simplest solution is always the most logical, and with Disney money talks. No money in nostalgia or virtue signaling equals no green light to your idea.
