Same that's the reason I decided not to watch Kipo. I simple typed in Google "Kipo how many episodes in season 1" and no joke what popped up was the wikipedia page saying how "Kipo known for it's represtion of diversity and LGBTQ in a children's animated show. And I just noped out of there. I mean if that's the best thing you can say about the show does that mean the story sucks?

Like what happen to good story.

Been watching Batman: TAS and was shocked by how good the Two Face two-parter is.

Shit, I literally just watched that yesterday. It really conveys the horror and tragedy that several characters feel, as Harvey slowly slides into insanity. And even before the disfigurement, the way 'Big Bad Harv' emerged each time was something to behold.

Imagine, in the same era the films gave us Tommy Lee Jones as Joel Schumachers Two-Face. Does anyone even remember that, hidden behind Jim Carrey's mugging?

Was there a boost in animation compared to other episodes, too? Which studio handled it?

Wikipedia is really only interested in what generates clicks. Kipo's most reported features would be the stuff you mentioned, but I heard the story is decent.

Oh god, Tommy Lee Jones was both terrible and we all know he could have played the part well if he was directed correctly. Just by being the straightman to Jim Carrey would have been better than what's on the screen.

I've never seen him play a serious role where he's brooding or terrified, so I can't really say.

This was originally supposed to happen when Burton was set as director for the third Batman movie, but when Returns didn't become much of a success WB had hoped for, Burton was only subjected as a producer and the script had to be rewritten. Plus, when Schumacher was brought up as director, it was fast tracked just for the Summer 1995 release deadline along with its reivsed script, which explains the awkward continuity between the 1989 movie and Forever.

We interrupt this thread to bring you some classic golden age part of Western Animation, and in recent memory I've been on a Terrytoons kick. They're possibly one of the most underappreciated animation studios, and not just during its golden era. This one from the late Gene Deitch is a good example as to why that studio was legendary (I know this was posted three years back, but fuck it, this is a certified hood classic).

Terrytoons were, let's face it, some of the cheapest stuff to come out of the theatrical cartoon era - and Paul Terry even said as much - but the Gene Deitch 50s limited stuff is actually good.

I consider this a good example of what Deitch wanted to do while at Terrytoons.

Been watching Batman: TAS and was shocked by how good the Two Face two-parter is. For one, it's better than any Nolan Batman movie, fite me and two, Boomers and older generations really gave children more credit than we do today. They kept the story simple, but they weren't shy about showing dark characterization like Two-Face's descent into madness. Now? Cartoons come in two flavors, so adult that you can't show them to kids or so dumb it's outright patronizing to its audience. I guess Avatar is the exception, but it isn't the rule like it was with 90s cartoons.

A little Early but happy 30th birthday to that awesome show. (and to a lesser extend batman returns the second Batman movie to cross the 30 threshold) The influence lasted almost throughout the entirety of the decade , if it wasn't for TAS we never would have gotten the Marvel animation lineup, the DCAU, or Gargoyles.

Apparently, Cudi is rumored to drop a new album next month as a part of this new project he worked on, and the cast seems… interesting, I guess?



Either way, he won’t be the only rap star to get his own cartoon: André 3000 of OutKast, Tyler, The Creator, Tone-Loc and even M.C. Hammer all had cartoons made after their likenesses, too.

Funny enough, I actually remember that one. If I recall, Eminem once said he was inspired by Crank Yankers on MTV2 to make a animated sketch like comedy show.
