Those are show premieres, though.

It still managed to do worse than most premieres of CN's new shows lately. I hope it continues its downward slide. Finally we'll have evidence that you can't underestimate the intelligence of the American public too much.

Yeah I meant Femme Fatale who was pretty much tumblr as a person. Sedusa I recall was just your typical Poison Ivy/sexy bad chick or something. Seeing how her version of feminism is the one hailed on the mainstream I wouldn't be surprised to see her return.

Of the PPG reboot? This has been covered in the Tumblr thread... but I find it hilarious that they're trying to pander to Tumblrites and they're rejecting them. When will they learn?

Taking this elsewhere, I reminded myself today of something I saw when I was in the 7th grade that still stayed in my mind for a long time. It was this silly educational cartoon meant to inform children of deceptive marketing practices done in advertising. It was animated/directed by Charles Swenson, probably best known for the X-rated classic "Down & Dirty Duck" and co-creator of the CN series "Mike, Lu & Og", who along with Fred Wolf, also worked on a number of stuff at his studio like The Point (1971), The Mouse & His Child (1977), Puff the Magic Dragon (1978) and a few other specials like the first Strawberry Shortcake cartoon. This was back when Murakami-Wolf Productions had this funky house style in their work where everything was gritty and varied depending on technique/budget. "Sooper Goop" is no exception, the studio was doing ads too!

What an enormously bungled project. They start out with a well regarded show and then immediately piss off its old fanbase, which is the only reason anyone noticed it. Then they pander to SJWs and instead of pleasing them, piss them off, although this was completely predictable, too.

I've searched and apparently TVTropes seems to like the show.

Why do I have the feeling that if you serve a plate full of actual shit to a Troper they would accept it without a problem?

Decided to give a watch to the first episode of new PPG before even looking at peoples' reactions, and holy shit, this is garbage. No charm whatsoever and even the character designs that haven't been carried over from the original look out of fucking Steven Universe.

Remember back when CN was willing to take chances on shows with different looks? Sure, people say, Dexter's Lab and the original PPG looked the same, but what about Johnny Bravo? Cow and Chicken? Ed, Edd n Eddy? Courage the Cowardly Dog? Sheep in the Big City? None of those looked the same...
