This was actually a syndicated special, is the thing.
So, it was like "Ted E. Bear and the Great Bear Scare" (for anyone who remembers that terribly clunky special that was merely a finished animatic).

Seems like the beginning of the century we've seen plenty of terrible, cheesy CGI flicks show up often from people who little to no experience in the medium. Of course this brings to mind certain films like FoodFight! or Sir Billi (You could probably put Ratchet and Clank on that as well despite having good intentions with bad marketing/timing). I'm sure this trend will continue for the long haul.

Oh I'm sure it will. Given the fact that nearly every movie being released as CG in them. You also forgot Space Chimps, Planes and Happily Never After.

I guess I chose to simply forget they even existed!

I do not want to be a SJW or start an utterly pointless discussion about representation in the media of cartoons, as personally I think there are some things that are not intented to be racist, even if some idiots shout "racism" about it anywhere on the net. See e.g. tumblr when they discuss Aladdin or Frozen.

But can I ask some people about their opinion about certain cartoons that have pretty damn obvious racist stereotypes in it, how they look at them and what sort of "modern" cartoons they know that may be unintentional racist in their opinion? Cause I know racist cartoons exist (here and exaple)

but I also know about modern day cartoons where I think that the sort of "representation" there was unintentional racist.

It was a different time. Cartoons like this appear racist to us now, but back then were considered fine. Walter Lantz was startled when the NAACP called out this very cartoon as offensive; he maintained that none of the movies he made with black characters "degraded the colored race" (you wonder how he could say that with a straight face?) and promised not to do anything like it ever again.

Similarly, Bob Clampett's "Coal Black and de Sebben Dwarfs" was done with an all-black cast, and according to him, he told them that if there was a gag in the picture they thought was offensive, he'd take it out.

Believe me, I understand it was a different time. It is just that I am curious about other people's opinion, what other cartoons they could point out like that "I know of that seven dwarves think with black characters that was WWII propaganda e.g.) and some modern day ones that may be in some way unfortunate.
E.g.: As dumb as it sounds, I consider shit like Bebe's Kids in some aspects worse than some of these oldschool cartoons. 1. They look often times cheaper than the old shit. 2. Something about how their characters are only jerkish representations of popculture stereotypes makes them feel worse than soem of the outdated big lipped black guys of old, who I think not even the most brain damaged kid would associate with the modern world.

Honestly, I kinda find it more racist when it's a black person writing a black character (ala Bebe's Kids) as opposed to those cartoons of old.

With those, they were at least over the top in their depictions of racial caricatures. With the 90s hip-hop media thing, it just comes off as an awkward mess. And I think Bebe's is the best example in this regard. Because the slang and the rapping really don't help, and not when the characters are either complete dicks or "Totally hip and edgy dood!" like the movie's trying to make them out to be. That it's with characters of African-American decent isn't really painting them in a good light.

And on a related note, who here's seen "Our Friend Martin"? I only ask because AnnotatedXperiment (myself included) also tackled that one in all its unintentionally racist glory:

I used to watch the episodes of Tom and Jerry with the black maid and the fact that people think it's racist. We watched a couple episodes and noticed that all the human characters were heavily stereotyped including the baby sitter (who ignored a baby and went straight to the phone), the man of the house and the docile wife. I think it was just one of the ways they keyed in simple cookie-cutter characters. Hell even after they removed Mammy Two Shoes they were replaced by a dopey white couple.

I went to watch Song of the South after someone said it is no longer being printed/screen due to racist concerns and I found it only to have a romanticised sense of black culture and was probably very forward thinking for that time.

A lot of cartoons from those times have disclaimers about their black stereotyping, especially Looney Tunes as they believe it is editing out the past and ignoring their mistakes.

I actually grew u watching Tom and Jerry with the black woman not being censored out of it. And I am from germany. The country that gets even more paranoid about accidental racism than some other countries on this planet.
And there is one thing I will say about many of those black stereotypes of the old WB cartoons:
At least they were not part of "The Proud Family", which I conider the most racist cartoon Disney did in this century

that explains a lot

You come to realize humanity itself, whether black or white, is caricatured and stereotype in some manner in cartoons. It's just a basic fact.

Remember how I said in the now-locked thread that I wasn't gonna watch the PPG reboot? Well, I actually caught an episode a few days ago, and it wasn't that bad. Maybe it's just the unicorn and the twerking episodes that suck.

Honestly I find most of the "sassy black girl" and "sassy latina" characters in modern cartoons pretty racist as well, yet the only time I've seen this character being treated as satire was in Drawn Together. Often i see they're treated as "awesome" characters yet they still perpetuate old stereotypes.

As far as other western movies are concerned, I love The Thief and the Cobbler and The Secret of Kells. The first one due to its creative animation and Vincent Price (and I like how it tackles "Disney elements" but puts a spin on them), and the second one because i love Irish culture/mythology and the animation is also gorgeous.

I guess this is the place to ask this. What's the name of that Legend of Zelda screenplay a lolcow wrote that someone ended up doing a spoof animation of it?

EDIT:
Found 'em!
