Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Makes you think, I mean Pooh's already in the special as it is. So who knows what kind of clusterfuck might occur if more toons/fictional characters would be added.
I'm just surprised Jim was that concerned over a character he played here because of the subject itself, choosing to have Pooh be as clueless as the dad who wondered about the missing beers in the fridge (I suppose Michael has a lot to explain there)! I'm still amused at Simon's definition of marijuana, but someone had to say it.

Yeah, I'd love to think who else could've been on the chopping block for such a special as this. Porky Pig would be a good choice!

I wonder if anyone's made a Pooh's Adventures of Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue. What would that be like?
I'm pretty sure Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue is the original Pooh's Adventures, but I guess the spergs on that wiki would think it doesn't count unless it also has Ash and Pikachu.

Tough nipples on them them, their precious Pokeymans wouldn't be around for another 7-8 years.

I'm now going to share this classic among classics of so-bad-it's-good animation, and one I am proud to own on VHS (alongside a copy of Mr. T's Be Somebody or Be Somebody's Fool!)

What gets me about the whole thing is the huge amount of effort. All these companies agreed to have their characters appear in one cartoon together. It aired on every network at the same time (broadcast AND cable). They got Howard Ashman and Alan Menken to write some songs for it. And to top it all off, they had Bush Sr. give a message beforehand.

And all for something that's regarded as a nostalgic so-bad-it's-good curiosity these days.
The main thing I remember from this was a lot of the characters acted like assholes to the druggie kid when the "trip" was happening.

Oh yeah, I remember too. It was fucking crazy.

Also, ALF keeps getting his eye colors reversed in this special. Anyone else notice that?
Oh, I did! I think I mentioned that as well, noticing they were coloring his eyes as if they forgot the entire eye was entirely balck besides one tiny white dot for reflection. ALF's (or Gordon's if you want to go there) eye was already pretty unique to start with as it tends to be rendered nearly black most cases.

I can't help but laugh at how pathetic & worthless this reboot is, honestly... Like I honestly knew it would be, too.

Then again, PPG (original) stopped being a good cartoon after 4 seasons in its run, anyway. Why they brought it back (other than to sell girly shit...) is anyone's guess, besides the obvious...

Somehow, this is more embarrassing than the rapping dog from Titanic: The Legend Goes On.

On another note, tho'... Here's something I own on VHS:

It's a Polish-Swedish coproduction from the late 80s, and... wow, is it something.

The role Christine "Chuckie" Cavanaugh was born to play!

EDIT: I mean it, it sounds just like her!

Noticing Chris' YouTube playlist for "Classic Cartoons", this was the first entry of it that caught my eye. For most of us of a certain age, this was a widely remembered, quirky little short Nickelodeon would run often when they had time to fill after a program like on "Special Delivery". Canadian animator J.Falconer's "Dog Brain" is practically devoid of any real plot outside of what is seen or heard on or off camera (such as the chainsawing of some tree or the trophey of a deer's ass on the wall). The basic premise, a dog snores away his life as he dreams of basically being in the exact same mode. That's all!

Produced at the Vancouver-based International Rocketship Ltd, best known for having animated bumpers for Nick/MTV as well as Gary Larson's "Tales from the Far Side" specials.

I remember being about 5 years old watching Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue for the first time on tv and I was like:

Oh wow, at least when Teen Titans Go does it it's sort of clever (I'm sure not everyone will agree) but that looks like it's just trying to copy that style of humour but failing miserably.
When TTG does it, they actually write lyrics. The PPG writers just put together a sentence or two.
