The story of menstruation is a straight up educational film. I don't count those as they are a separate genre where awkward topics like periods are fair enough and kinda the point of them exiting in the first place. That's different from the same topics in basic entertainment. It's more or less been a thing for years, Braceface once did an episode on it.
And Disney already did it much earlier in 1946.
But those were done with a lot more nuance compared to Turning Red and Baymax. So maybe there's a chance Molly McGee can do it so much better, but we'll just have to wait and see.
Fuck that, do Sikhism for a change. They have cool swords. What about Judaism?
I've watched it, and it'a really good, not to mention it has my favorite Bakshi girl in it.Anyone remember Ralph Bakshi's Hey Good Lookin'?
Loved the soundtrack
I hate how much that guy looks like a western Kiryu.I've watched it, and it'a really good, not to mention it has my favorite Bakshi girl in it.
Speaking of lost media, does anyone remember Nicktoons Film Festival?

It was pretty much the same as the likes of Liquid Television, What a Cartoon, Oh Yeah! Cartoons, and so on. Except here, this showcased a lot of short animated features around the world hence the show's namesake. It even gave people such as JG Quintel some spotlight.
I bring this up because a year ago someone had compiled an incomplete list of shorts that aired on NFF, with a few more being lost to time.
this specific short has been in my head for over a decade and a half since i saw it on one of these film festivals and now i finally find it
highest quality short on the list clearlyThis here is easily one of the worst shorts in the festival.
I take it back, this is unironically The Godfather of Nicktoons Film Festival shortshighest quality short on the list clearly
if scorsese calls it cinema, then it truly is cinemaI take it back, this is unironically The Godfather of Nicktoons Film Festival shorts
I remember seeing a lot of those shorts during breaks on Nicktoons back in the day, some of them really creeped me out, especially this one...Speaking of lost media, does anyone remember Nicktoons Film Festival?

Even if i'm gonna wait and see if it'll be bad or not, i totally agree with your opinion, since according to a leak, this episode will be directed by Samantha C. KingThe story of menstruation is a straight up educational film. I have no issues that period might get mentioned in entertainment. My problem is the tone and target audience of these Disney period talks. This is clearly the fashionable thing to talk about to kids and that means only way. Molly McGee, Turning red and Big Hero 6 spin off all have this aura of Empowerment! around periods and period talk. It's clearly just virtue signaling to other adults that share their politics and they don't care if it makes kids uncomfortable and confused.
To proof that I'm not just complaining, let me point to a good example of periods in regular entertainment, even in a staring role. King of the Hill, episode Aisle 8A. A phenomenal episode, really funny but also didn't push periods in your face. Connie getting her first period was about more about handling an awkward situation and topic in less than ideal circumstances. Period was just a perfect target for that and the episode treated it with enough dignity and seriousness despite the jokes. It does help that King of the Hill is an adult comedy, like actual adult comedy with adult tone. Hank wanting to stay out respectfully but going in to help when Connie got overwhelmed trying to buy her first bads was just a perfect scene.
I'll gladly take a lesser than mid movie from Dreamworks if it means the next runner up is another Homerun like The Last Wish or The Bad Guys.View attachment 4796276
^mermaid is the bad guy
Even now after he's left, Katzenberg's hate for his old company still burns on.
Edit after watching: Yeeeeep, definitely a low/middle. GODDAMN IT DREAMWORKS I DON'T GET YOU!
Looks like someone watched Turning Red and watched that other Pixar like TR with fish people in it. Then, they said why not both?View attachment 4796276

That would automatically mean DreamWorks is finally gonna do a 9/11 joke to beat Pixar to the punch?Looks like someone watched Turning Red and watched that other Pixar like TR with fish people in it. Then, they said why not both?
This should've been inducted to the National Film Registry.if scorsese calls it cinema, then it truly is cinema

And I am not interested.
Because they want to lecture people of how "whites are le bad" as with most other Hollywood productWhy are the mermaids white?
It looks fine. Either it will be mid or maybe a surprise classic like Megamind was. Never judge a DreamWorks product till it is out. They have made masterpieces out of much stupider premises.
I don't think there's anything wrong with tackling subjects like this. But I wish they'd make it more a general puberty thing like including stuff like acne, body changes etc.Even if i'm gonna wait and see if it'll be bad or not, i totally agree with your opinion, since according to a leak, this episode will be directed by Samantha C.
