Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Darkwing Duck is still a great cartoon that had a wonderful video game adaptation. What are some other great cartoons that had nice video game adaptations? Aside from SpongeBob and The Simpsons, of course.
Nicktoons Racing, Muppets Racing, FOP Breakin' Da Rules and Shadow Showdown, X-Men Origins (technically it counts, because it's based on a comic like the movie's counterpart), the 2002 Futurama game and currently Warped Kart Racers. And if we're gonna throw in some anime here, Afro Samurai video game as well.

Disney:
Chip'N Dale Rescue Rangers (NES)
Donald Duck in Maui Mallard (SNES - Genesis in Europe)
Duck Tales (NES)
Castle/World of Illusion (Genesis)
Quak Shot Starring Donald Duck (Genesis)
Tale Spin (NES)

Non-Disney:
Asterix and The Great Rescue (Genesis)
Felix the Cat (NES)
Izzy's Quest For The Olympic Rings (Genesis)
Ren & Stimpy: Stimpy's Invention (Genesis)
Taz-Mania (Genesis)
Tiny Toon Adventures (NES)
Tiny Toon Adventures: ACME All Stars & Buster's Hidden Treasure (Genesis)

You know, I never played that one.
Oh yeah, it's probably the nostalgia talking but I really liked the first Nicktoons Unite.
For me, it was Nicktoons Racing or Nicktoons Basketball.

well Capcom, who made the NES Darkwing game, also made games based on a lot of other Disney properties and almost all of them are good. Ducktales 1 and 2, Rescue Rangers 1 and 2.... some people aren't big on the Talespin game tho. There's others they made that I'm forgetting and all are worth at least a casual glance.

Mickey Mouse shockingly starred in a lot of good 16-bit games. SNES got the Magical Quest trilogy and Genesis got the Illusion games. Sega also had a game called Quackshot Starring Donald Duck which I've heard nice things about.

Scooby Doo Mystery for the Sega Genesis is an underrated, little-discussed gem. It plays kinda like Monkey Island if you're familiar with that, and contains two stories you can select from. (there's a SNES Scooby Doo Mystery but its a case of "same name, different game" and my recollection is the SNES one isn't as good, though it does bring a surprising amount of atmosphere for a Scooby Doo game). Unfortunately to my knowledge they never did another Scooby-based point n click adventure... most other Scooby games I've played are some sort of shallow platformer.

I'm apparently in a minority but I actually liked the SNES Animaniacs game (for some reason most reviewers don't). Quite an achievement considering I'm not a fan o the cartoon. A lot of the 8-and 16-bit Tiny Toons games are good too.

I haven't played it but I've heard good things about the NES Bucky O'Hare game.

Apparently G.I. Joe had decent luck with games back in the day. The NES had two Contra-style shooters, and there's one in the arcades that is apparently a cult classic.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles goes without saying. Just grab the Cowabunga Collection and go to town.

And while you're loading up MAME, try the X-Men arcade game. You could argue that's more comic-based but IIRC its interpretation is based on the "Pryde of the X-Men" pilot cartoon.

I've also been told there's an arcade game based on the Wild West Cowboys of Moo Mesa which... the cartoon is something I remember being shit, but the game is apparently Sunset Riders with a license (Sunset Riders itself being basically Contra but set in the old west).

I could probably name more.

Not animation, but speaking of licensed games, this one I had fond memories playing on the Gamecube and that's solely because of the awkward ragdoll psychics

This was also pretty good. They're actually making a spiritual sequel to this in the style of a Metroidvania, and it actually looks DAMN good.

Here's the trailer for the final Owl House episode
Dear Disney:

Stop funding shit like this. Instead, give someone like Wayne Unten a good chunk of change to make his own 2D animated movie:

I guarantee you, it'll do gangbusters. That is, of course, if you care about actually making money by entertaining people any more.
