In other sad animation news, the clone High reboot is coming out soon this spring and it seems like the changes they made are permanent and won’t be taken out until f the Final Cut, I really hope they find some way to incorporate Gandhi into the show even in a dream sequence or cameo but considering it was a bullshit controversy even in the early 2000s It doesn’t seem likely.

Let's hope the upcoming Ren & Stimpy reboot at Comedy Central won't be so screwed.

On the plus side, this does sound like a cartoon made for the 90s and 2000s. On the other hand, it's also said 90s and 2000s cartoon that only lasts for 10-13 episodes before getting finally cancelled.

So, apparently it seems that "teenage kraken" will be the longest dreamworks movie with a runtime of 2h23.
So there's been speculations that the very spoilery trailer is only showing us the first half of the movie, and the second half will be dedicated to turn our expectations around probably by making ruby and Chelsea "enemies to lovers".

If that's the case, I can already see the comparisons that will be made with pixar's "elementals". Both being about interracial love stories and the tribulations that come with it only that dreamworks made it "fresh" by making it gay.
Also, while Disney make their shitty black live-action mermaid, dreamworks turned Ariel gay. This can't get better than that...
Also, you know how Twitter is. They love their "popular girl x nerd girl" dynamic. They will eat it up and the two of them will become the new lumity.
In conclusions, we might get a movie that's only popular because lesbian. Or just a very long shitty movie. Whichever you think is worst.

I mean, even if the speculation is true, at the very least they're not jerking themselves off about the 'representation' many months before the movie even releases?
If it is true, it would also be far better representation than anything Disney has put out, because the 2 girls are the only characters that aren't butt ugly and they're both main characters, beating even Strange World by far, which would be funny.
Dreamworks extremely casually beating Disney at being woke without being obnoxious about it, lol.

Still kind of stupid to make a trailer that SEEMS to spoil everything, though.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for Disney collecting Ls. I'm just dreading for another wave of creepy Twitter adults creaming themselves over teenage lesbians (which they're already doing all over the movie tag). And if that's the reason why they're the only two appealing characters... That's kinda gross actually.
Edit: okay, maybe I'm overreacting. Twitter will be creepy about their ship no matter what after all.

Well, I'm assuming the other mermaids and Krakens also look fine and it's just the humans that are ugly.

Still, this movie does not leave a lot of hope, considering my earlier post with info about it where someone on Tumblr found out that Ruby's younger brother will be voiced by a 13 yo ftm...
But the actual potential homo shit might actually be somewhat tolerable comapred to Disney and Pixars bs.

Remember it's whitewashing if you don't portray a black person as a grimacing, inflate to 30 psi-lipped, jive talking baboon. And if your gay guy isn't sucking dicks 24/7 it isn't "representation."

Having it be close to 2.5 hours is absolutely insane. The attention span for most kids today is too short for them to sit through it. Also, the rating puzzles me since even a little bit of fantasy violence in a mainstream animated production these days would result in a PG rating.
