Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

I herd Soul did super poorly in theaters and that's a way better movie. Shocked they're still doing it.
Those deals have been set in stone for awhile now. It's probably more expensive to pull out than take a hit because deals tend to have compensation clauses if someone doesn't deliver. Plus with the strikes next year is pretty empty of new projects.

That awful Disney+ movie Turning Red is going to be released in theaters: https://archive.is/LRGei

Luca is also getting a theatrical release, and I'm hoping that flops just as hard as Soul. As for Turning Red it will also fail, but not as bad as Soul because of 9/11 memes or some shit. They're gonna fail and Disney's just desperate for more cash after losing a lot, especially last year

On one hand, there's a good chance they will fail overall since these are movies from like a year or two ago so there's no real point in going to a theater just to watch something you could have seen way before it got there. But on the other hand, the movies are already made so they'll probably sell the license to show it in theaters for pennies like they would with TV networks they don't own.

Got around to watching the new episodes of Aqua Teen. It's one of my favorite shows and I still quote a lot of the early seasons.

Holy fucking shit, they're terrible. I don't think I laughed once during the lot of them. Absolutely miserable experience.
I thought the new Aqua Teen is funny. It's pretty much like the new Beavis & Butthead, it needed time to get used to

B&B reboot is so far the best cartoon reboot. Worst one is Tiny Toons because it's unwatchable.
That's because this is Mike Judge and, like I've said time and time before, he's proven that he hasn't lost his creative steam. That said, I'm still worried about the new KoTH

He did it. He wished upon a monkey paw.

across the spiderverse sounds like the most obnoxious movie ever. is it any good? it seems like the whole plot is this meta commentary on his le spiderman dont need no dead people and how the entire concept is wrong and miles is super special and different because he's contrarian to that trope (i mean so was mayday but she wasnt deliberately trying to subvert it), which just seems like such an insecure way to write a story: to write it based on how you think people might think of it on twitter

what's funny is lorde or miller i forget which is getting cancelled on twitter for being a "gusano" for not letting a cold war castro film get a wider release. the leftyness only extends to idpol pandering it seems
Apparently all the episode scripts for the unmade Season 3 of The Ghost and Molly McGee got leaked recently.
is there a dilation episode

I really love discovering the old Hollywood references Warner Bros constantly made. I think everyone online is familiar with Daffy Duck's scene in "Book Revue."
Well it's a tribute to Danny Kaye's manic singing comedy. I just watched "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" for the first time and I was absolutely floored by his performance here. He's arguably more animated than Daffy. You can just tell how much Robin Williams was influenced.

It is a movie that is better if you don’t think too much about it. The cast and character writing is pretty good, along with the art, but the story falls apart when you bring any knowledge of Spider-Man into it. The film essentially boiled every Spider down to being the same character just to have a weird plot where Miles breaks canon. I may like Gwen, Miguel, and a lot of the Spiders. Hell, they even have well defined motivations. It just sucks that the main crutch of the plot is responding to online criticism of Miles being pointless.
