Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

tbh i'm glad they didn't make it a Doctor Who cartoon, because that would be even worse than watching the actual doctor who imo.
What kind of goofy animal sidekick do you think they would've saddled the Doctor with?

As long as we're pulling up old cartoons based on sitcoms...

Hanna-Barbera really loved to shit out those kind of shows back then, didn’t they?
It was just retarded back then, and this was my pathetic childhood. Why I never look back.

Noticing a particular name in the credits. This "Carl Urbano" showed up in a car ad once...

Obviously the director behind "A is For Atom" died a happy Honda man.

Just settled down to watch this Rankin-Bass classic...

This ought to be a part of everyone's Halloween. This should be a classic on the level of the Rankin-Bass Christmas specials. The fact that it isn't is an injustice.

Halloween's coming, so I decided to post a clip from one of my favorite Cartoon Network shows:

I always thought Billy and Mandy's version of Dracula was one of the best cartoon takes on the character. After all, nobody ever expected a Dracula who was basically Redd Foxx as a vampire... And Phil Lamarr's voice acting made him all the more hilarious.

Man, love the 2D animation in this, so jarring compared to the bad 3D though.
Oh, it can happen.

Reminded Bill Hanna had this to say about the use of computer animation in Jetsons the Movie...
“The computer animation is very effective and gives the film a spectacular look. I felt that if we could see the space factories, asteroids and shopping malls dimensionally, it would add a lot of depth. We animated the space vehicles with computer because there was no way we could get that beautiful motion by hand, and so we moved the airships that way and then added the characters.”

All that work for a terrible film. (Absolutely nobody thought the decision to replace Janet Waldo with Tiffany was a good idea...)

Speaking of Hanna-Barbera, since it's the season...

Out of the two Addams Family cartoons they did, this is the better one. As you can see, it has the theme song (which the 70s one did not) and is, I think, actually pretty good. John Astin came back as Gomez; Rip Taylor and Carol Channing are in the cast...

(And I know a couple of people who are fans of The Completely Mental Misadventures of Ed Grimley...)

Gotta love the fluid animation 20 seconds in.

Fun Fact: They got Don Bluth's studio to work on this.
Yeah, they used this place over in Dublin.

The Irish studio often did work on a number of non-Bluth related stuff during the 90's I noticed. I'm sure those guys needed all the work they could get. Practically raised that country out of the dark ages.

Also @Trilby and @Steamboat_Bill, pretty sure you're talking about the Jetsons movie. Don't get me wrong, I agree with you, but I think we got the wrong H-B animations going on here.
I know, just that someone else brought up that film and I couldn't help it!

Certainly a much better effort.

I am! Certainly one of the more unique entries in H-B's lifetime (I noticed Bay area Colossal Pictures was involved on it too). I still wonder how bad this one was given it only aired at least once I recall.

Animation from the long-discontinued Hanna Barbera ride at Universal Studios Orlando.

I recall riding this once, it was around 2000 I believe. Since I was only three years old at the time, I had to sit in one of those stationary benches up front, so I never got the full experience. :( (It was already gone by my next visit a couple of years later)

I'm at least glad I got to check out their Back to the Future ride a few times while it was still running, but that's beside the point .
