Amazing how even TOH survived getting cancelled for good because people care that much about it, but I heard no cries for a second season of Hailey. Hell, even TGAMM managed to end properly despite getting cancelled.

Zamn not a single visibly ethnic nordic in a show based on vikings, but more importantly, why do they all have the exact same buttugly shade of hair? Looking at this image too long genuinely hurts my eyes, its just really bad design.

It also just looks like boring slop that even kids whove seen most episodes will not remember this show at all just a few years later.

Yeah, I agree. Even if the main characters are beanmouth, you also see plenty of wild, off model expressions that greatly distort that. I say Steven because I consider it a progenitor of the soft, pastel, unrisky beanmouth we’ve seen from Thundercats Roar, this, and other shows.

Also, more importantly, they were a blue cat and a fish with legs, not a boring human with the chunky sausage bodytype and shitty squiggle hair.



Its the kinda style thats simple, but not nearly simple enough to work. Goanimate tier. At least all the adventure time character look goofy and they used the style to go extra cartoony with it, these ones just look ugly and boring.

I dont think theyll have visually interesting side characters like this either

While stiff, it gets the general feel/ look. Wish it went a lot darker though, as it sort of implies it would after the shadow kills those men, but then just stops.

I sought out that tweet and according to a lot of people in the replies, you are not allowed to criticize this animation style anymore because “at least it’s an original IP”. Standards have gotten that low, that people are using that to defend this softboi cut-n-paste style becoming the generic American animation standard.

Aside a few flecks of current year (Serena Williams being a future president, haileys actions said to solve climate change) this was probably Disney's second or third best show in a while. Behind hamster and Gretel and big city greens. Tough there is a poetic irony when you realize those shows survived with H&G getting a second season probably because it has almost NO traces of current year on it and was an actually good show, level with say Phineas and pherb or millo Murphy.

The one semi decent thing to come out of the whole joker 2 debacle and it's still lagging being it's looney tunes inspiration. Though I can kinda give it a pass on that since it's more or less meant to be a recap of the first movie. Though why they bothered making it an animated recap I don't get, given almost the whole damn plot of joker 2 is just recapping the first one while Arthur tries to convince people he's insane in order to avoid the death sentence.

I'd be inclined to disagree pretty heavilly, actually.

I'd more so blame the hacks who looked at these shows and styles, and confused stylization for simplicity without realizing WHY any of these shows used such a style in the first place.
