Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

I wonder if cn and Disney + share the rights like a divorced couple
Yea it is weird that a CN show ended up on a Disney platform, so I gotta wonder if Disney bought the rights directly from CN? Otherwise it woulda ended up on HBO I'd imagine.
oh my fucking God, can nothing just STAY dead?! It's even worse in this case, because Gumball was one of the few highlights of 2010s Western animation.
Honestly it is really fucking sad. In my mind Gumball holds a place as one of those quirky weird shows from my childhood/teenage years before I was aware of the enshitification of basically everything and it would have been nice if it just stayed there.
Guaranteed that 99% of the staff are gooning to it
...if that wasn't already the case near the end of the original run.
No doubt, and they'll probably put a bunch of random degeneracy in it since the audience is going to be almost entirely adult, because who else would be watching a show that started airing 14 years ago. It's not like it was back in the day where CN could just keep showing Ed, Edd, n Eddy to new kids. I'd be surprised if the average age for the new seasons demo is under 25 lmfao.

I'd prefer to actually know anything about the show before immediately sperging out about pronouns, but I swear to god I've seen like at LEAST twenty different versions of that jester's exact same type of character from Vivzieslop's shit alone, which this is definitely aping with him being described as an "overlord".
For some reason The Amazing world of Gumball is being brought back after 7 whole years, now with the new name "The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball".

Usually I refuse to touch modern cartoon reboots, but wasn't this known about for YEARS? The original series even ended with a cliffhanger for a movie that I'm pretty sure got thrown in the trash in development. Either way, it's been seven years, I doubt it's gonna recapture even half of the energy the original show had, a lot of the early 2010s CN series were a "right thing at the right time" sort of deal that can't really just be reheated in the microwave, especially by modern writers and for an audience that's almost certainly comprised primarily of adults by now.

The trailer looks good, anyway, no weird forced modern references like King of the Hill's revival. And 7 years is a much shorter time than a lot of these reboots, so fingers crossed it's a decent continuation.

Who the hell in the executive offices or via fan email was clamoring for a Gumball revival? Surprised they haven't tried reviving Steven Universe or rebooting Adventure Time yet, at least those would make sense.
Gooning to Gumball's mom is probably one of the most benign forms of Gumball gooning.
I remember that thread from ages ago. Thought it was hilarious personally.

Let me guess? It's about the animals discovering reptiles exist and it's "there
Goes the neighborhood " with snakes? I look forward to Judy with her foot on a snakes neck screaming, " I can't thermoregulate!"
I can tell they got lazier on the design of the snake in this case. No doubt got enough clout from Kaa or Sir Hiss for this.

This has been known for awhile. CN has plans for more Adventure Time (2 spinoffs + movie) and Regular Show as well.
Cartroon Network needs to die.

If they put some fucked up hypno fetish into this they need to neck immediately.

I have come to ask a completely weird question: why do people who make good cartoons (Dexter's Lab) never give parents proper names? That always bothered me ever since I was a child.

I don't have high hopes, already see niggers saying this will be "peak" (in other words, people who cannot say any word other than what is repeated in social media).

We're at the end stage of western animation where the last bastion of greats from the early 2010s is being rebooted. I'm only in my 20s and I feel seriously fucking old right now.

Adventure Time has already been revived - twice. Once with Distant Lands in 2020 then another time with Fionna and Cake in 2023. Hell, as stated previously, CN is already cooking up more content for the IP with a movie, a B.M.O. preschool spinoff and presumably another season of Fionna and Cake.

The creator has said the movie is gonna happen. But I'm very doubtful with the current guy running WB/Discovery. They put Gumball onto Hulu instead of the network. Even when half their lineup now of days is gumball reruns.

I wouldn't call it a reboot. Its the same show underneath. Its just the WB/Discovery merger delayed things. Also the fact there was supposed to be a film and not season 7.

Nah. No way in hell are they touching that fucking disaster.
It's too toxic; even for them.

Can't wait for toddlers to accidentally watch the main show and get totally blasted with mature content.
Art-style is nice though.

A good version of this premise is that the mammal characters get involve in some David Icke tier schizo plot.
