Still, there's that Smurf film to look forward to, but I'm not holding my breath.

Only because it's not taking place in some big city IRL, for the umpteenth time, like far too many films based off of old cartoons/children's storybooks/paper-based comics tend to fucking do!

Even if it does turn out good, I don't see myself seeing it, unlike some of you guys are likely doing. I ain't no Smurfs fan; I wish it the best, however.

I discovered a Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs TV series exists and has been airing on Cartoon Network for about a little while now.

Say what you will about the movies, but what I saw of the cartoon's terrible. For one thing, it's a retcon--course they tried to "remedy" this by saying Flint (who's in high school btw) will promise to build some kind of memory eraser if Sam were to leave Swallow Falls because I don't fucking know. The other is the art-style. Compare and contrast (mostly with Flint):

The jokes also sucked. Most of the jokes in the movies tended to be visual, though they had a sense of timing and they didn't overuse them (too much, this kinda hurt the sequel). Because of the change in art-style, it doesn't even work visually, and any running gags they may have implemented in every episode run their course too soon. It's also full of cringe, the episode "Baby Brent Sitter" I felt was too much to take in in that department--if you don't remember who the character Brent is, he's the 'tard in the chicken suit above and is Swallow Fall's Baby Brent's Sardines mascot. (In terms of cringe overall, though, Breadwinners is still worse in its obnoxiousness, and the Powerpuff Girls reboot still is hard to watch, personally. The Cloudy cartoon was something I was more-or-less just baffled with throughout.)

I don't know why this exists. I had no idea this was even considered. It may have been a change of pace from seeing Teen Titans Go!, but this only brought out one question I just have to ask:

Why?

THIS shit... Really fucking makes me thankful stuff like Samurai Jack (2017) exists right now. And THAT is putting my thoughts / feelings on this pathetic excuse of an "adaptation", or in this case, show based off of that, lightly enough!

The designs at least look better than the last Smurf movies did. They look like the comics/cartoon, for one!

Rock Dog finally showed up on the webz in the 'usual spots', care of an Italian DVD release, though since it lacked an English audio track for who knows why, we have to make due with a CamRip for the audio.
http://putlocker.today/watch/pxwp5LGz-rock-dog.html

Weird thinking how much faster this would've taken had the English track been included anyway, the opening main menu could already confuse noobs and they even left in a making-of featurette undubbed.

I'm all caught up with the 2012 TMNT cartoon. It's been quite a ride, though I'm slightly skeptical about where season five is going to take it. I dunno, it almost feels like whenever a show hits their fifth season, everything gets weird.

But I think at this point I should worry more about the new reboot for next year. I'm getting weird Ben 10 reboot vibes from that announcement for some reason.

Let's be fair here, TMNT and weird has always gone hand and hand. I kind of want to see where they take this new direction a little more before I make a final call on it.

Also, is it just me, or did anyone else get any Cowboy Bebop vibes from the new opening?

Definitely, I'm cool with that, but it's something I didn't really expect. I just can't help thinking of the supernatural elements coming into play in this fifth season being a little similar to how the 2003 cartoon's fifth season went, which is a season I'm not too fond of, personally, but it wasn't a terrible season, either.

I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with Kavaxas (holy crap that's Mark Hamill? I didn't notice). They're not really hiding the foreshadowing he'll "betray" Tiger Claw and do his own thing later in the season, though "When?" is the real question.

Cowboy Bebop and Teen Titans. It's pretty cool.

I get the feeling they intended to make the "betrayal" aspect obvious from the get go. Just not exactly the "when" part.

Well, I kind of expected the TT similarities because they both have the same showrunner and all. It was the music in particular that reminded me a bit of Bebop.

(btw, for those not know what we're talking about, here)

So one of my favorite things about animation is when animators decide to goof around and have some fun even when it doesn't end up in the final cut (for the most part). It's why I enjoy animation outtakes/bloopers/Easter Eggs on the DVD (one example) even though I don't know why something like the Toy Story 2 and Monsters, Inc. bloopers exist outside of maybe there were some inside jokes someone decided needed to be recorded and animated, but whatever, they're fun. (There's some freaky ones, too; you see the giraffe in Boo's room? They have a DVD Easter Egg about it actually being alive--so fuck that giraffe. And I wish I could find and link footage of whatever some animator did in having the car go out of control and run into everything during the end of the "When Somebody Love Me" sequence, it's messed up.)

Anyway, not going to beat around the bush. Since we were on the topic of TMNT, I found this last night that I thought was funny (it's also on Ciro Nieli's instagram).

Cartoon Network has revealed its new lineup of shows that they're going to air soon. Six new shows are going to be airing.
http://deadline.com/2017/03/cartoon...six-new-returning-series-upfronts-1202054922/
Apple and Onion- Looks like a blander Regular Show
Craig of the Creek- Made by people who worked on Steven. Questionable
O.K K.O- Show by another guy who worked on Steven. Looks decent to me
Ben 10 -IDK
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs-Mentioned above.

Also on Russian CN they showed previews for two other shows. One is called "The Heroic Quest of the Valiant Prince Ivandoe" and it's made by some people who worked on gumball and has a similar art style. The other is a spinoff of the lego movie starring unikitty.
I'm not so sure about this lineup.

Craig of the Creek and OK KO: I hope they keep their SJ politics out of the show.
Powerpuff Girls: Hopefully they'll improve the animation, character designs and give Bubbles' VA a kick in the ass so she'll put some effort into her work.
Magiswords: See my previous rundown of the mini-episodes.
TTG!: Whhhhyyyy?

I was hoping Infinity Train would be on the list since it was pretty good when I saw the mini-episode. I'm glad Twelve Forever didn't pass since the female protagonist annoys me.

Yeah...
Apple & Onion - No thanks. Regular Show and Gumball (shows I actually like, BTW) don't easily mix just like that. Also, this show looks bland and boring to begin with - meaning none of the charm, wit, or conviction is there for me to want to watch this at all, honestly.

Craig of The Creek, OK KO! - Agreed with @Yaoi Huntress Earth: I don't expect either of these fucking shows to be anything special, unless the people who come from Steven Universe working on it keep their political / social justice BS out of it. Knowing there are people from Steven Universe working on BOTH shows, it's very unlikely my hopes and wishes will come true, despite how much I want to watch (and enjoy) both shows, as they are the most promising of upfront pickups this year.
The former reminds me of Clarence (a favorite CN show of mine that I'm sad to see cancelled after 3 seasons, but it was a fun ride, regardless!), but with more level-headed folk behind it (so hopefully no sexual assault drama - it'll likely last longer as a result, provided it's good, of course.)
The latter looks to be an actually good action comedy (unlike Steven Universe and its SJW pandering that gets in the way of everything that could have made the show less overrated, had it NOT been there! Then again, SU is rather poorly paced and unfunny as fuck, so it's no surprise to me that I just want that show end, already.).

Summer Camp Island - I can proudly admit that looks cute (nowhere near like Harvey Beaks, IMHO, however!), similar to We Bare Bears. That's it. Like WBB, it'll likely have not much else going for it beyond that. I can say with the utmost confidence that it'll probably be a decent enough show, despite the naysayers, but nothing truly special, otherwise, like We Bare Bears...

Everything else (PPG2016, Cloudy~Meatballs, TTG!, Ben 10) - I Don't care. So please... Fuck right off.

I'm not sorry in the slightest Twelve Forever didn't get picked up, it's for the best - main character was more annoying than Star Vs.' main lead (and that's an accomplishment in itself - one NOT to be proud of, either!), and the only character I liked was the Butt Witch out of all that.

Infinity Train, if it had been picked up, would have only worked as a miniseries, a la Over the Garden Wall. Shame it didn't get that honor. At least Twelve Forever didn't get it, either, so good riddance!

As for what's ending / continuing that I do give a fuck about...
- While I'm sad to see Clarence go, it had a good run and I had fun watching it - it didn't seem like it was going to last long, thanks to that whole sexual assault BS that was brought upon them, especially its creator. At least the crew behind it, unlike the creator, put in a good enough effort for me.

- If the people behind Mighty Magiswords in Season 2 can keep to their word to SLOW THE FUCK DOWN on its fucking overall pacing, it'll be a top contender for favorite (comedy) show on CN for me right now, going into 2018.

- I really hope Amazing World of Gumball does have a proper ending set up for itself soon. I don't want to see what is currently my favorite show on CN become a zombie like that of The Simpons, Family Guy, and all of their ilk!

- I'm glad to see like Regular Show that Adventure Time has an ending lined up - it's about time this show ended. Here's hoping like Regular Show that it's a good one.

- We Bare Bears is still going - yay, I guess??? What the fuck ever. This show is pretty damn good, but nothing truly special. Mostly because (IMHO) I see its pop culture refs aging this show badly too soon for its own good.

- Oh, and so is Steven Universe - can that show just get an ending, already - or better yet, get to the goddamn point and stop it with all the political / social justice BS pandering??? Please?

Well, Zuke's revealed some time ago there's only five more episodes she's worked on. So the political shit may be decreasing after that.

The problem is when they'll air, considering CN's fucked up way of scheduling things.

There's a Steven Bomb coming up on the 10th.

As for O.K. KO, I hope the protagonist is still voiced by Stephanie Nadolny (kid Gohan's original voice actress). That really made the pilot way more charming and if it lacks her it'll be a shame.

Judging from what I've heard in the trailers, it's still her, just doing a slightly different voice than the shorts.

Voltron: Legendary Defenders is going to be dropping a season 3 coming out this year. Meanwhile I'm a Steven Universe sperg and it's like, I gotta wait 1 and a half to 2 months for five episodes.
