Never watched the show, but I remember kids TV stations spamming this commercial to death (so much so that “I didn’t ask Pablo says!” became something of a meme between me and my sibling):


Trying to find that commercial on YouTube was a trip. I stumbled across a 170-video playlist all related to toys of this Pablo character. I feel like I just hit the edge of a rabbit hole — the fandom of Backyardigans might be a special type of deranged (which may explain the wiki mod’s behavior)…
 
I assumed there must have been something un-PC since they were guarding it as if characters were dropping nigger bombs and goose stepping. Imagine trying to explain to a SWAT team that this is why some asshole called them to break down your door.

I can think of very few people more pathetic than those building private circlejerks around media (that they don't own nor have any rights to, in which case it would at least be slightly more understandable). It's something you see repeating often online, too. I'd bet they had their own little chat somewhere with only people that bent over and went through the entire humiliation ritual to access it, making fun of anyone else trying to get it, and redistribute it. It's the ultimate destination all private tracker faggotry leads to when left unrestrained too, where all pretense to be "preserving media" keeping it to your little safe space is dropped. And their logic is always the same, "now that you've leaked our precious stuff you won't ever get a proper release, you've really done it now!". A funny example I always get remembered about some random DBZ broadcast some faggots were keeping hoarded for years (archive).

According to this redditor a couple hours ago, wiki admin Melodilous was the one who released the pilot, and there's been a lot of "drama" about it. He posted this screenshot of a fandom wiki comment to reddit. The same admin made an edit to the page for the pilot [correction: edited the whole page for the pilot extensively to accurately summarize the real thing] saying "the jig is up" yesterday. Seems like a coverup is confirmed, which is a step further than the YouTube video was able to substantiate.

The Backyardigans happens to fall in the period of time that we sometimes watched children's TV channels when my kids where small.
It was awful and I couldn't get it off quick enough, so all I remember is the roll call bit with the stupid names, - "Shaniqua!" "Yolanda!" "Pablo!" - all the alleged girl characters seemed fat and sassy and cocked their hips, and the boys seemed gay.

I'm right there with you. Watching these guys discuss the classifications of side characters in absolute earnest is probably the closest we'll ever get to experiencing how explorers felt when they discovered a new tribe or country of people. It's completely alien to any normal person.
