As cool as it would've been for there to be mysteries involving the yōkai and bakemono, it's probably for the best.

Man it sucks. We could have a newer movie in the vain of Heavy metal or at least something that dosen't cater to families and instead tries to break the mold western cartoons has stuffed itself in, these are cartoons for families and man children, these are cartoons for drug addicts and retards(that are in the 18 to 35 demo)
Look at many places online to discuss animation (or comics) and you'll find they are wastelands of legal adults talking about children’s shows and films as if they’re Shakespeare.

I understand. I love old Asian tigers depictions (other animals too): they look kinda alien and goofy, but you can also sense the creature's might.

The creature in the movie though acts like it was made specifically to be a goofy sidekick and sell toys. They even gave him a giant funkopop head.
Understandable. I haven't seen it yet but I liked the tiger because I love derpy critters but they aren't any fun if it isn't natural.

This has probably been discussed in the ATLA/Korra thread before, but eh. I keep seeing this take pop up from time to time.

Damn do I hate the “oppressor vs oppressed” mentality that’s so prevalent these days. Everyone just brushes off civilians being tortured/murdered because “Well they were Fire Nation, so they were probably evil anyways!” I haven’t watched this show in ages but I know that’s bull.

Oh, okay then. That’s totally fair.
Fucking commies.

If anyone wanted an update on how the antiloudhouserevamped reddit is going then here you go: The reddit is imploding under the weight of like 2 people counter sperging the reddit with a new subreddit (DownwithMsMainstream) created by a 13 year old. There is currently a new post about how awful Technical_Driver_604 (the 13 year old mind you) is while a few of the small user base are posting about leaving the subreddit for good. It seems they either phone booked the fic writer or some one else did but it has already been deleted and users are claiming the mods are lying to cover their asses. Perfect sperg war

And that, children, is how you justify killing and torturing civilians.

I'm guessing these people aren't familiar with the Geneva Convention?

I didn’t save it, but one person on a different post was like “Yeah I think it’s perfectly fine to torture and kill civilians.”
I’d question how they probably view real life wars, but I can already guess.

As bad as American animation has gotten now, you can't forget how restrictive everything was in American cartoons of the 1970s and '80s. Networks even banished wild takes, as you can see in this memo from 1978. Fun and wackiness in our cartoons? Not on our watch, people!

Transformers must have been a blessing to those people.
"In this episode, Optimus Prime is going to get literally blown apart. That cool with you guys?"
"Wellll.... we're gonna need to see his arm holding a gun mounted to a rooftop aerial and his torso turned into a fucking crocodile."
"Done!"
