On a semi related note, I keep seeing some people be like “Ugh, are we really still complaining about She-Ra in 2025? Move on!” Are we just not allowed to criticize bad shows just because they’re older now?

The issue with this meme is that everything is now a wells for boys. Everything is now some flavor of she-ra, or owl house or generic forgettable fantasy number X. The kid with the cap has jack that’s for him, despite what the woman says.

As for she ra itself, They need to memory hole it because everyone knows it sucks. And alot of things that have come after it sucks. If a pattern is recognized that everything they made has sucked and will suck, then maybe it’s not the audience that’s in the wrong but the makers, and if that’s the case, they might be out of a job or be forced to make things like male led action shows, where the solution is to beat the badguy ala power rangers and not befriend them like mlp.
 
It's indeed kinda sad how same-y most, if not all Western animation has become, both regular cartoons to movies. The Bad Guys 2 stands out because not only has actually good animation and a fun plot, there's TWO heterosexual couples that DO NOT end up breaking up (or not in this movie at least)! I don't think that's a thing anymore in Western media.

I'm watching a one mid Batman show, Beware the Batman, and that one is still miles better than most current shows. Compare to Batman the Caped Crusader from 2024, which tried to imitate the magic from the 90s cartoon, but failed in every level due to bad writing, poor animation, wokeness overload, and way too few episodes.
 
So, I've been rewatching Steins;Gate and noticed Funi pulling some shady shit regarding the dub of S;G0.
They completely removed all references to Luka via pronouns, and they avoid referring to him as a male as much as possible. They even outright replaced Mayuri saying the classic "But he's a guy!" line with "And we have Ruka!" (Oh yeah, they also translated his name wrong.)
It's so clear that whoever was the ADR scriptwriter felt that in the seven years since the original series, it wasn't PC anymore to simply call the guy who identifies as a male a male anymore.
No, he's gotta be in some in-between twilight zone where he's just never referred to by pronouns at all. It's so distracting once you pick up on it.

Transformers Animated since it's set in Detroit in the 22nd century. Aka if the city was bulldozed and revamped to be a city just for wealthy people.

Guys like Braly contributed to the cultivation of an entertainment industry complex that is so off-putting, if not downright hostile, to male viewers that boys would rather watch the most trashy wojak meme compilations and AI video junk you can imagine than whatever shows they’re making. Great job!

Braly's friends' shows are getting cancelled because their googoo baby therapy girlboss cartoons have zero appeal for young male viewers, which is a demographic that people might consider courting because of how large it is. "Beanmouth Girls Academy" and "Sassy Girlboss Show That Shamelessly Rips Off Shonen Anime Fight Scenes" are getting cancelled because more YA males and kids are watching stuff from content creator channels with names like "LOLCOW Drama Hub" or "Dr. RedPiller".

Its not limited to Braly, or Disney, this strain of shamed whipped guys who sneer at the suggestion that maybe you should try appealing to boys and then offer mealy-mouthed talk about how "we should Appeal to Everyone!", has really been encroaching on everything in entertainment for way too long.

Guys like Braly have never had an original thought in their heads. Amphibia was full of "references" to anime in that "let's reference cool stuff that was made by actually talented people so that people will think positively about our boring show" way. They were inferior knockoffs being passed off as "homages" and "influences" by the defenders of Amphibia.

This can work if they just make Vergil the overly serious straight man that he is in the games, but they probably won't because that would require the writing to be genuine and interesting enough to carry a scene, which Adi Shankar can't do without 3 minutes of potty mouth marvel quipping.

Tumblr has a fandom space for my ingrown toenail. Admittedly that is the appeal of the site, but let's be real something having a fandom on tumblr is like having an entry in the dictionary. The site is made to curate and share things you like.

Fair, but Tumblr's also one of the last social media sites that isn't full of irl family and friends and completely controlled by an algorithm. Posts still show up in chronological order, and are only who you choose to follow, barring very rare exceptions. Even if you make a new account where they try to get you on the "for you" page with an algorithm, you can still choose to default to your following dashboard. If it wasn't for Tumblr and KiwiFarms, I'd probably just stop using the Internet for anything except listening to music.

I'm tempted to say Xavier Renegade Angel for FL, even considering the world they're in is a desert. Or perhaps a neighboring state?
