All the stuff added so far, everything is subject to change so if anyone has better suggestions feel free to post it. I'll hold out on some entries and add them if no one else has other shows to represent it.

Doesn't Aqua Teen Hunger Force take place in Jersey? Definitely somewhere along the northeastern part of US, if not I'll put it wherever it is and Megas in Jersey.
BTAS for Chicago, no fictional city represents the darkness, rundown feel and high crime better than Gotham.

Big Hero 6 and Teen Titans are both clearly San Francisco with a Japanese twist.

Skibbidi Toilet for Ohio - keep all that Gen Alpha shit over there

W for the Skibidi Ohio suggestion, here's the update:

Might be mish-mashing some shows together since BTAS and P&F are equally iconic for a state.

If you are going to mish-mash, Jimmy Neutron for Texas and Static Shock for Michigan (Dakota-verse is set there)

If we had to fill it out more though,
  • Barnyard takes place in presumably Arizona - Grand Canyon visited a couple times
  • Camp Lazlo takes place in Wisconsin - Rocko's Modern Life also takes place between WI and IL
  • Making Fiends takes place in Vermont
  • Daria is suggested to be somewhere between Pennsylvania and Maryland

I would argue against Gotham being Chicago. It’s clearly an east-coast city, probably also Jersey City, to Metropolis’ NYC. StAS for New York.

ATHF takes place in New Jersey except for that one season they inexplicably tried to change it to Oregon. Megas XLR takes place in Jersey City.

Smiling Friends and Johnny Bravo for California. Johnny Bravo’s Aron City should be in Tennessee for the Elvis reference.

Mike Tyson Mysteries is explicitly in Las Vegas.

Been reading debates on it after making that comment. Gotham definitely gives off Chicago vibes, and has mostly been portrayed by it in live action, but DC seems to say either New York or New Jersey.

Also, allegedly Dini hated Nolan for making it Chicago, so that would be a big reason to remove.

Additional add, Danny Phantom takes place in Minnesota.

Edit: Cars would be the best pick for Arizona

If you're gonna put more than one title in a state, put down Hey Arnold! for Washington state.

Also put down Napoleon Dynamite for Idaho since it did get an animated miniseries.

Imma throw in one for the horse movie fans: Utah or Wyoming for the original Spirit. All I can think of for Alaska is Brother Bear. Even though it takes place during the Ice Age. The original Beavis and Butthead could technically work anywhere, but I picture a small to medium sized town in MN.

One more edit: Transformers Prime in northern Nevada (fictional town of Jasper). Since I saw that some other states had more than 1 show.

Am I the only one who generally associate Gotham with Baltimore? Old, semi-gothic, moderately religious, hideously crime-infested but also full of old-money East Coast families. Just screams Baltimore to me.

Gotham and Metropolis are sort of an amalgamation of every US city, even if their origin is clearly New York. Problem with DC is they never really defined them very well and they exist in the same continuity as actual US cities rather than replacing them, not helping is that nearly all of them are clumped around the the shoreline.

I believe I have seen the Baltimore take before, though typically Gotham is either New York, New Jersey, or Chicago to most people. New York because Gotham was a nickname for the city and it is a shoreline city with districts broken up by water. New Jersey as DC used to have a map that stated as such plus it has more old architecture. Then Chicago has most live action Batman adaptations filmed there, Al Capone to fit the mob history, elevated railways and more narrow alleyways compared to other cities. In terms of Chicago, it sort of worked in parallel where the fictional city and real started becoming closer over time than what was initially intended.

Metropolis is also weird as theoretically it should probably be around St Louise or Kansas City these days given Clark’s now Kansas background since the first film. Smallville and Metropolis are usually depicted as not that far off, so it being a state away would make sense, plus if Gotham is Chicago, it also keeps those cities close-ish (a state away) still.

Other weird oddities are the Hall of Justice being based off an Ohio train station yet seemingly set in DC?

Dakota should be in Michigan given that is where Static’s creator is from and the state has a significant black population for the black superhero universe. Going back to Gotham and Metropolis, having them in the Midwest would fit with the DCAU seemingly placing the cities semi-close to Static.

Latepost? Derail? I found Andy Samberg's cartoon show Digman to be fun. Fast-talking Adam Reed sort of absurdity, bad words that zoomers don't like, competent visuals if lackluster style.
Large amount of stylistic issues that are clearly due to someone who's never created a cartoon not listening to his tech people. A lot of fuckups in character design.
Hugely mis-marketed in the exact wrong way for a product made by and for oldfags.
On-screen meth use, mocking of gay men, only lesbian character is a psycho, decent amount of straight-up weirdness that is original content. Lampshading of 80s stuff and TV stuff but with consistent character personalities and interaction, like Solar Opposites.
The character design situation in the west is really bad right now, but at least we still have good background artists.

On that note, isn't Metropolis believed to be in Delaware for S: TAS?

Doesn't Metropolis have a shoreline? I always felt pretty certain that Gotham and Metropolis were both East Coast cities. Gotham being Chicago always seemed like something invented by Nolan because it was cheaper and easier to film his Batman movies in Chicago. And I always thought Central City (The Flash) was supposed to be St. Louis (or KC or OKC, some landlocked big midwestern city).

I think the only confirmed canon city connection is that Fawcett City (Captain Marvel/Shazam) is Philadelphia. Like straight up, 1 to 1, no creative liberties.

Even though Bruce Timm knocked it out of the park with the DC Animated Universe, I've always preferred Marvel when it comes to comics and movies

Yes, they have a shoreline, though it should be noted that Chicago does have a great lake next to it and a beach, so technically you can write the large body of water off as being a lake.

According to DC most of the cities are bunched up along the East Coast, and yes, the Flash is in the midwest. I was just saying theoretically, Metropolis would make more sense in that area given we know Clark is from Smallville, Kansas, which is supposed to be not too far off from Metropolis, not halfway across the country.

Interesting how Gotham is in jersey but south jersey on the coast and bludhaven is inland.

Gotham to me always felt like jersey city, Hoboken, and parts of Newark (and no not just cause 2019s joker was filmed In two of those three) modern and proud of its history while also riddled with crime despite the so called "progress." While bludhaven was Camden, Trenton and the rest of Newark. Shit hole riddled with crime in the past and shit hole riddled with crime in the present. Nothing to he be "proud" of.
