I still don't get the purpose of asexual representation. You want to be repped for not having sex? You want a gold medal because despite you're the horniest hubber-trucker on the planet yet don't like IRL sex but virtual fantasy sex, you're suddenly in position of actual minorities?

Even knowing the obvious answer to my own question I'm still confused on why a character not interested in sex should require a whole SquidGameSeason3Celebration.gif reaction?

There's a reason the average joe don't understand aceness. There's nothing to understand. It's not that deep, bro. You don't like sex? You don't like it. Go on with your day. Stop asking for backpats. Your "spectrum" argument is void and only serves as an excuse to be a pretend-queer, if you're not already one.
While "asexuality" is frippery indistinguishable from celibacy, it should be considered that sex negativity is under constant attack, and coomcels aggressively pushing their obnoxious tactless fetishlop only to act like victims when rejected are nigh-omnipresent. Tell redditors to stop spamming BBC cuck crap and they scream AUUUUGH CHRISTIAN ZEALOTRY. Tell 4chan to stop spamming loli bondage and they screech AUUUUGH WOKE TRANNIES. So I can sympathize with it as a bid to escape from degeneracy.

I've only seen manchildren, college-aged, up to cat-lady age, woke liberal women, and lesbians praising The Owl House.
I genuinely think the series would get memoryholed if the main characters weren't teenage lesbians.
Like Steven Universe I never saw a single kid wearing merch or a lunchbox themed about it.
From what I remember, I think the first season was pretty well liked before the show went wildly off the rails. It'd almost be a shame that the show's legacy will be the genre of "manchild-targeted therapy/venting sessions disguised as kid's shows" its other seasons popularized if it didn't deserve that fate.

Danny Antonucci speaks on why reviving Ed, Edd n' Eddy would not work:

I wish more creators and studios think that way into practice. The Ed, Edd n' Eddy series ended on a great note.

It was canceled because kids never cared for it that much. Like Steven Universe I never saw a single kid wearing merch or a lunchbox themed about it.

I don't understand why they're giving Dana Terrace another shot. But judging by The Amazing Digital Circus, it seems like faux children's shows with therapy-session vibes aimed at adults are right up their alley.
The Owl House to me seems like a "Harry Potter meets Lesbian fetishism". And to me it is a clear sign it shouldn't be watched, by anyone.

As for Steven Universe, there is a whole essay that can be described why it's shit. But I never watched so I have no idea.

I will be extremely generous with Steven Universe to the point of getting rainbows.

It's surprisingly not as bad as you would think for a show made by super woke California women. It's also somewhat still relevant as evidenced by it still being referenced and showing in crossovers like the defunct MultiVersus. I do concede it has a fandom. But there's a catch.

Entire videos have been made on its faults so no need for me to repeat them. But its biggest sin as far as I am concerned is that it was yet another "kid's show" that neglected kids in favor of manchildren.

I am not even gonna complain about things like intentionally drawing women ugly to "avoid the male gaze". Again full on therapy sessions, not just for the characters but for the adults making the show to cope on things they lived (Ex: Sadie and Lars, the rape methaphors, and complaining about exes, getting over a past love etc). Is there an audience for those? Yes, I concede that. Do kids care about that? No way in hell.

If you watch the pilot, the one Genndy Tartakovsky directed, you will see the original idea was actually closer to a classic Cartoon Network show for kids. Steven was less of a pushover even. The final product? I just can't see an average 12 year old boy thinking Steven is cool. Ever.

The show is great till you hit the cluster. A huge issue with the show is pacing and lack of payoffs, with the Cluster being most people’s reason for leaving. The show spends too much time on random comedy adventures to fully build up its main conflicts.

This, sort of…

As stated above, the biggest issue with Steven was Sugar and team’s need to make Beach City vital. They wasted countless time on one-off nothing adventures rather than building upon their more interesting space invasion plot. Adventure Time suffered heavily from this as well, where it wanted to pivot to higher, more interconnected storytelling, yet would constantly hamper it with numerous comedy focused episodes that dilute the series. I think AT is overall better than Steven, but that is mostly due to AT getting its shit together the last few seasons (final episode not withstanding) to just create large arcs without bullshit in-between. Steven continued doing it over-and-over till they had to rush out an ending that satisfied no one.

Steven was pretty cool for its era. It took a lot of risks and had a lot to be intrigued by, but never had the proper follow through. It is arguably both the best and one of the worst creations from CN, though I think it would have been marked as the top had they just disposed of the filler.

To be fair disney barley makes official merch for their television properties anymore. I was able to find some official luch boxes and insulated bags for amphiba, shirts too. But with shirts unless the listing's are on Disney's official shop or a 3rd party like Walmart. You can't tell if it's official or something someone with access to an Etsy or redbubble shop is selling.

The movies and the iconic characters like Mickey and pals are another story entirely but those brands have been making money for literal decades.

Which is a shame cause going by the first 12 eps it's an ok show, it's worst "crime " being it's Disney still salty about not getting the rights to Harry potter. But after luz actually starts going to magic school it slowly becomes, "Dana makes her own Harry potter because she cant enjoy the actual Harry potter anymore because the creator has been persona non grata as a terf." Finally crossing the threshold into "wokeshit bad for everyone ' with the prom episode.
I just can't see an average 12 year old boy thinking Steven is cool. Ever.
The average 12 year old would be too busy calling Steven a faggot for how much he acts like one. Especially in the later seasons.
