I came to the conclusion years ago when I first watched it, that Peridot's not retrieving her limb extenders was an intentional allegory to the notion that oppressors should give up their means of power.
That they either dont deserve it due to past deeds, or that they cant be trusted with it, that if they retrieve it they will inevitably become an oppressor again.
Were there other instances where Peridot was used as a symbol for an oppressor-turned-political-ally?

Except how the hell do limb extensions enable oppression any more than simple ingenuity that lets her build and operate stuff like fist-shaped spaceships? Also Peridot gets her metal manipulation powers back later, just not the limb extensions she typically used it for and associated it with.

That follows the usual messaging.
Give up the power that gave you the means of enforcement of will, and wait for a more appropriate means to come along. Her new powers came from some increasing alignment with her new team, right? Been a while since I watched it.
Its also aesthetically in line with the message, Peridot looks much more imposing and sure-of-herself (fashy) with her attachments, and without them she looks like a hopeless booger goblin.

Isn't Peridot also implied to be autistic or something? It's been awhile since I engaged with the autism of the Steven Universe community, but I remember that being common consensus at one point. Which I found a bit weird, with how everyone acts you could consider every character in the show autistic in some way.

Say what you want about mutant mayhem it made a profit...hell the turtles themselves ultimately DID end up being "evergreen. " more so than this forgotten boomer/gen x crap. Everyone was so sure the turtles were a fad destin to fade once they wore out their luster, especially when turtle mania seemed to implode with how bad 1993 was for them.

I always saw it more as them being a symbol of homeworld's industrialism for Peridots to consistently be initially dependent on the extenders despite having their own metal bending powers with Peridot's use of them seemingly being a big outlier, plus with her notably being written as the autistic one, I also viewed it as her needing them to be acceptable to homeworld's system and standards, especially with Amethyst needing to wear limb enhancers of her own in one of the last few episodes when they're at that Homeworld party.
(To be honest, back when I was still actually into this show's lore, I actually headcanoned that era 1 peridots were different and more generalized engineers until being repurposed into the shorter, limb enhancer dependent repairmen they are in the show to save on kindergarten resources)

Er... well the ironically non-autistic interpretation is just the basic 'be yourself' messaging; which in her case meant ditching the prosthetics. (In prog-brain this is 'okay' because they were limb enhancers and not limb restorers.)

She also used them to try and kill the gems so it's a 'bury the hatchet' kind of thing. Like if I pulled a knife on you over some misunderstanding and then we became friendly - how would you feel if I kept that knife on my hip every time you came to visit?

Define "evergreen". It never returned to its peak and while it was certainly not a fad people seem to care less and less about every new iteration as time goes by (Rise flopped and its finale was unceremoniously dumped on Netflix with no promotion) and while MM was profitable I don't think the zoomer turtles held any retention given how nobody watched Tales of. I guess its more accurate to say that TMNT is one of those properties that never went away unlike the ones in those image (seriously Brazilians are the only people who care about Woody) but always struggled to stay relevant within each new zeitgeist as a result.

Fair point. For as bad zoomers can piss me off with how inane and inspid they can be, at least they can name all four of the turtles and have to some extent kept the series alive.

If you define evergreen as something that still has a dedicated fanbase and/or is still being remembered even after so long it has that. That being said,

I love how the original VAs stayed in character as they signed this copy. I can practically hear their characters saying what they wrote. Really shows that even years after the fact a great va can really make a character stand out with an impression that never leaves you.

Well said. As much as I hate how every new iteration after 2003 has this tendency to make every turtle distinct from one another (Remember Donny is the smart one he needs to wear glasses🤓) it probably went a long way in keeping the brand recognizable for new viewers and while I thought they did kind of went overboard with MM (among other things) I actually did dig Rise's art and design overall.

I mean, I have a cousin that's three that loves them from the newer stuff I haven't watched. Me and my brother grew up on the 2003 Turtles and I went back and my favorite iteration is the 80s cartoon just for how cheesy it is.

Just in my family we have about 30 years of different fanbases. I've met people at my various jobs in their 50s that I can talk about whether Michaelangelo or Leonardo are the best turtle. It's probably the best franchise at piercing through decades of generations. It sounds gay, but it really is one of the few franchises that hasn't been completely poisoned by modern day BS and your average joe still feels okay talking about it.

I know literally nothing about homestuck other than a lot of people on tumblr like it, and that a bunch of its fans were kicked out of a conention for pissing in a bucket.

My thoughts after watching the pilot is that it looks like it was writen by chat gpt. Its hard to have thoughts because there's absolutely no coherence to anything going on and nothing of consequence happens.

The pilot seems to exist to set up the premise that the main characters will be playing some sort of videogame, and everything before that is pointless. I don't like any of the characters and the comedy is 100% reliant on "lol randumb so fanni xd" which takes zero effort to write and if you don't find funny means that 100% of the jokes will completely miss.

So, I didn't think it was funny, I hate everyone because they are obnoxious unfunny zoomers who think they are cooler than they actually are, and there is no premise for me to look forward to because it didn't set one up other than "they will play an unspecified videogame and they may already be in a videogame".

If this is a pilot it fails because the one thing pilots need to do is either establish a powerful hook or premise to make you want more. Its a sales pitch.

This establishes no hook, no premise and no characters.
