I watched the original How to Train your Dragon recently, and I'm wondering, "How good is the rest of the series"?
Two is better than the first in my opinion (I can see why some might like it about the same or even slightly less than the first), even if I am not a huge fan of the McGuffin since it really contradicts the first movie.

The third is the worst one, but its still overall very good. Honestly, How to train your dragon is actually a rather solid trilogy now that I am actually thinking about it.

It's a complete story and it wraps up nicely imo. It does depend on how attached you are to Hiccup and Toothless' relationship, though.

If you can, check out Riders of Berk before the sequel.

Don’t know where else to place this, but check out this response to before and now in terms of Western cartoons.

Define "evergreen". It never returned to its peak and while it was certainly not a fad people seem to care less and less about every new iteration as time goes by (Rise flopped and its finale was unceremoniously dumped on Netflix with no promotion) and while MM was profitable I don't think the zoomer turtles held any retention given how nobody watched Tales of. I guess its more accurate to say that TMNT is one of those properties that never went away unlike the ones in those image (seriously Brazilians are the only people who care about Woody) but always struggled to stay relevant within each new zeitgeist as a result.
I'd def say that TMNT today is in better shape than Dennis The Menace (USA) was when that was made

So I was checking out the site of the new studio formed by Zach Hadel, Michael Cusack and Aron Fromm, and the statement on their About page really stuck with me. It takes some nerve to make a statement like this when you're in animation, considering how conformist a lot of those people are, who react to any opinions that dissent from the line that it's in a new Golden Age by pointing and shrieking like Donald Sutherland at the end of the 1978 Pod People film.

It’s not just nostalgia… Animation really was better back in the day. It wouldn’t cost a dime more to make cartoons feel less stiff and sterile, but current animation productions are so decentralized and bureaucratized that, creatively, they lack vision. ZAM has one clear mission: to fix that. In an industry overrun with waste, bloat & derivative work, we strive to bring back what matters – bold, high-quality animation made by people who actually understand the process.

"The animation industry used to be better at making animation but it's mostly bad now by choice and it doesn't have to be that way" is not something people in the animation industry say if they intend to be popular with the various cliques and hacks.

Elon musk called on a boycott of Netflix and NOW normies listen? Where were these Mass cancelations when Netflix was making all the rainbow slop 2,3, and maybe even 5 years ago?

I keep forgetting there's two version of Dennis the menance but neither have anything in common sans the name.

But yes the ninja turtles have peaks and valleys but they tend to survive even the worst. (Tmnt 3, next mutation, the bay turtle duology, the Seth Roganing that was mutant mayhem complete with blackwashing April)

No lies detected. Coastal elites need to stop being fragile pricks and face some castigation.

HTTYD is the biggest case of "Your mileage may vary" out of any franchise I've ever witnessed. Everyone universally likes the first movie and the christmas special, but the other two movies is literally a coin flip if you think that they will be absolute trashgarbage or the greatest piece of kino you've ever seen. While are technically competent, their execution on the themes is rather contentious, in the same way the last jedi is contentious, because it basically has all the same themes as the last jedi of characters pulling 180s.

Personally I'm of the opinion that everything past the christmas special and the series isn't worth bothering with, but again YMMV.

I've posted this before but I really like this review as a long summary of the problems with the third movie:

Saw the guinevere pilot, it was intresting. I like the premise and the setting and the animation is good too. If only the character designs weren't so vicerally disgusting.

Like yeah the setting is great, but I hate both of the main characters. The skinny one is obnoxious, annoying, neurotic and unfunny to the point where I want to punch her in the face and the main character is literally a dude with boltons pretending to be a woman.

The captain seems to be from an entirely seperate show compared to the two main characters, if they shared his visual style I think it would be pretty good. I don't understand the insistence on making the main characters as unbelievably fuckugly as possible.

Faedce Like a Frog is a 1987 surrealist animated short by Sally Cruikshank with an original song by Danny Elfman

Cruiskhank can be an acquired taste. I feel her peak was the 80's with all the movie intros she made. She could've branched into merchandising with her characters/designs. She once wanted to make a movie.

Say what you want about mutant mayhem it made a profit...hell the turtles themselves ultimately DID end up being "evergreen. " more so than this forgotten boomer/gen x crap. Everyone was so sure the turtles were a fad destin to fade once they wore out their luster, especially when turtle mania seemed to implode with how bad 1993 was for them.
Rare modern Nickelodeon W.

Really, have to give Nick credit, they have done a great job keeping the Turtles alive and relevant in current year. Even past the shows, consistently including them in their video game revival era has also gone a long way in keeping the turtles alive. Zoomers clearly love the idea of them fighting SpongeBob in a Smash clone, or kart racing, or now in a Diablo game.

This ad for the then upcoming program exchange from the late 80s early 1990 never ceases to crack me up given what hindsight did t all three of these shows.

I'm tired of pretending Woody Woodpecker was some cartoon icon. Most of his cartoons were when animation as a whole took a huge decline and were just fucking awful.

Personally I think a bunch of those mass cancellations should’ve happened after Cuties. But I guess when you lay out all the rainbow and tranny slop at once instead of drip feeding it to the public, that’s when they notice shit.

Some of those cancelations over Cuties have kept to it, it was just a matter of time before there was a second wave of cancelations.

Besides, didn't Netflix release numbers not long ago that showed that literally half of Netflix users/subscribers only watch anime? That means it was no surprise it only took just now for normies to see that these cartoons were pushing gay shit this whole time, because they weren't even watching them to begin with.

You know what I thought would had been a lot more interesting to see an "indie" studio explore?
Contrast unfinished rough gesture animation drawings for the real world, with refined finished animation for the disney bitch.
they already more or less did this for a single frame,

Like what? Make every shot have an unfinished and finished version?

I'm out of the loop, what did elon call for a cancellation over?

Something about canceling his own subscription to Netflix for his kids sake, over all the trans slop like dead end paranormal park. Makes sense give one of his kids became a flatscan and has turned on dear Ole dad for the sake of following the mob.

Ever since Netflix stock has plummeted, subs are down, and every right wing pundit from Benny Johnson to Matt walsh has addressed the cancelations and the shows that promted people to leave the service.

Pointing out everything from the so called "trans berry" and crossing dressing gay boy in strawberry shortcake, to the gay dads in cocomelon, the non binary cow in some show, prowlswipe a TRANSformer going by they/them pronouns (and Optimus prime apologizing like a bitch over "misgendering" prowl) and the dyke kiss in jurassic park camp cretaceous.

Yes those are all real amd they ALL happened in Netflix shows. And everyone from Elon, to the farms, to the mass of normies are fed up with it...all of it.
