Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Before I took a closer look I thought, "what is this some kinda Christian cartoon studio ripoff of hazbin hotel?

After seeing the character bios and a detailed synopsis of the plot I don't know whether or not I wish that's what this crap was.
Has nobody else heard of this before? This isn't "new," I think Saberspark mentioned them in a video ages ago.

New Bluey content just dropped…

Ahh..fuck it, may as well post all the recent animation video game content:

Obviously, we have Simpsons in Fortnite

More of the Avatar fighting game, which is apparently being worked on by the devs of the infamous My Little Pony fighter, Them’s Fightin Herds.

SpongeBob looking to have another great game under his belt with a demo out.

I'm not following all the animation news 24 7 speaking of.

My god if its not ai generated garbage it's consumerism zoomer/gen a garbage that makes me feel bitter, old, and disappointed in everything and eveyone.

I'm glad that you all love God's Gang so much. Your love for this series has reinvigorated me to try and effortpost.

As last mentioned, Nimrod choses to cut one long episode into multiple parts similar to a Saturday morning cartoon. One look at their Youtube channel would lead one to believe that the show has 8 episodes; however, this is untrue. The show currently has 2 full episodes and one short.

Take a look at this screencap from their channel:

Episodes 5 - 8 is just the video titled "God’s Gang vs. the Apocalypse of Fear" cut up with "to be continued" plastered at the end of them. I don't watch cartoons often so I have no idea as to why this choice was made, but it seems to be the Nimrod's modus operandi.

Note, I believe the 3rd episode was originally titled "We Didn't Start the Fire". My belief is that it was changed and episode title card was removed to avoid copyright. My proof of such things can be seen in the comments sections:

I watched the 3rd episode and wanted to give you all some highlights:
They meet with a Buddhist named Kungfuda1762242067751.png
They join forces to fight greed demons, but they do a training montage
The demons use fear toxin to power up their disaster machine
Sumuslim is scared of killing someone with his food
1762242388717.png
Ninjew is scared of being replaced by someone taller and cooler than him. This manifests himself as a this guy named "Jewjitsu" which I want to say is a cooler name than Ninjew
1762242533557.png
Taekwonhindu is scared of letting the world burn and not being able to do anything about it
Chriscross is scared of heights
They beat the demon by doing a captain planet and using an energy beam against the demon machine

It's certainly new to me. I did a crude search and didn't find anyone talking about it plus it just seems like something the forum would like to talk about. I'm not slamming the creator for making his dream cartoon or whatever since he really feels passion about the cartoon and I applaud him for making it, but there's a lot of questionable decisions he made that I felt could open up the floor for discussion. Like having the gang running missions for God and how it would conflict with a majority of the gang's beliefs. Also how Ninjew is hilariously written as closely to the stereotype as possible, but the creator refuses to acknowledge funny comments like these:

This will probably be my last post about this cartoon. Here's a picture of their team:

Welcome to my club. *sigh*

Do you think Learning with pubby wouldn't have been deleted, had the series not featured so many franchises?
If they stuck to franchises CN actually had the rights to, yes. Problem is, the Pibby creator was a midwit who didn't understand how CN crossovers worked [or what made them so great] and tried to pitch the most fanfiction-tier clusterfuck possible.

Which, unironically, got the attention of every fanfiction retard that never heard of Zalgo before.

Oh is that why it dropped off the face of the earth? What a moron lol

The working theory is some higher ups in cn greenlit it but by the time the pilot actually went into production they had moved positions or left and whoever was in charge wasn't interested in it anymore

not that big of a loss you can take solace in the fact it lives on through autistic 13 year old making friday night funkin mods

And amid all these pre-established characters people know and love, the supporting cast was going to be these two randos nobody cares about:

Finn and Jake, who are attacking them, are actual characters I give a shit about! But they're reduced to just mindless Zalgo monsters. Blue T-Shirt Boy doesn't even look like he's from a real superhero show, he looks like cheap royalty-free clipart a grade school would use on a poster to encourage kids to drink milk. The cat woman is visually interesting at least, but she's not a real character either. Why do we care about her or her show? Pibby gets a pass because it's HER show that we're watching, but Cat Lady? Who gives a shit?
The characters with Pibby would need to be people we actually care about surviving, not random cartoons we've never seen before. Hell, they could be OCs from the universe(s) they're running in. Swap out cat lady and the hero for "Rutabega Princess" and "MeMow's sister" and you've got something, now they're not just running from ooky spooky cartoon glitch effects but they're running from their heroes Finn and Jake deteriorating into eldritch monstrosities. THAT'S more interesting, even if we never met them before now.

Honestly, using stand-ins for other shows is a better alternative to directly using copyrighted character, but the issue remain that these characters here simply don't look good.

Recently watched the Ladybug and Cat Noir movie with my GF and was surprised by its quality. The french like to flex their culture and it's kinda neat that Ladybug has pretty much become the de facto superhero of france. One thing that had me rolling was how ridiculously detailed some of the backgrounds in the movie were. Some places looked more majestic than castles in Disney movies, when they were just scans of public buildings i think.
Also they absolutely wreck notre Dame lmao
Honestly, I loved the movie too, it really streamlined all the unnecessary bs additions from the show and gave proper spotlight to it's main characters. Most importantly it actually had the protagonist and the deuteragonist team up to defeat the main villain together, instead of what the show did, which was to have the deuteragonist locked up in a sensory deprivation chamber while his ex-girlfriend and evil twin cousin (who recently started sucking faces) trauma/exposition dumped on the protagonist and half the finale was spent on 5 morbilion side characters (many of whom we've only seen once) fighting grey blobs. My only complaint about the movie is that it was rushed, but I'll take rushed over the absolute soap opera the show has become any day.

The writers treat Adrien so bad that him getting the bare minimum of beating one villain in season 6 is seen as revolutionary.

The trailer showed her scratching Pibby's eye out. Would probably get another undeserved redemption arc after committing irreversible atrocities. Getting tired of that.

I remember giving up on that show in Season 4. Is it still shit that goes no where most of the time?
Compared to other shows? Yeah. Compared to the first five seasons? It does feel like more shit is actually happening. After Gabriel's death in season 5, Lila's the villain now as 'We got Hawkmoth at home'. We've introduced a secret cabal of rich assholes who were all apparently in on Gabriel's operation (including Nathalie's father) the whole time. We've introduced ANOTHER surprise half-sibling of Chloe's from another Audrey affair (with the writer alluding to there being many more because Andre is gonna end this show as the biggest cuck in history). We have episodes (badly) addressing the effects of Marinette covering up Gabriel's crimes. The sentimonster rules continue to be retconned over and over again for even more terrible implications. We're finally deciding that, six seasons in, it's time to actually try and give the side cast some actual character episodes. The animation's much better now.

And, the biggest development of all; the kids find out that therapy exists. And Alya has to convince Marinette to let Adrien get therapy (because Marinette is basically Adrien's carer this season and he can't function without her there to tell him what to do) and that him needing therapy isn't a slight against her.

Again, it's something that's only big in relation to this show and would be standard in any other decent show.

Sure, fuck it, the stupid shit like an evil organization of rich assholes, and another half sibling might as well happen. He’s a commie after all, not too shocking. Does Austruc still have a hate boner for Chloe, or has that gone flaccid now that she’s in the background?
