Say question, in the Holiday episode of Sheep In The Big City, the farmer sends Sheep a letter asking him to come back to the farm for the holidays, and even added some guilt in the envelope.
Guilt in the envelope.jpg
What is this supposed to be a reference to? Is this a symbolic thing for guilt tripping or some old reference I never heard of?

Reminds me of the controversy from Katy Perry's outfit on Sesame Street.
Katy Perry on Sesame Street reminds me of the Simpsons going to Brazil and the kids show being called "Teleboobies" and having a woman spin her tits around for the kids.

Though I will say, "nice tits and funny outfits" was like Katy Perry's whole thing for a long time. They knew who they were hiring and people still got mad, that's just FAFO. Maybe people need to stop including sexualized female pop stars in children's media?

Kinda just feels like the show's usual brand of surreal humor to me.

Well children don’t watch television at all these days. They’re all on YouTube watching Spider-man mpreg.
I thought SPIDER-MAN ILSA DENTISTRY (GONE PREGNANT?!?!? was like, seven years ago
Absolutely nothing was done this shit still exists. They are called content farms these days.
I didn't think anybody stopped it, just that some other crap moved up the algorithm
Nothing was fully stopped, it just hibernated until 2 yeara ago, now all kids watch are shitty ai videos of cat/dog videos, videos of rich european kids lives (where the kids live in a third world country)sprunki (some shitty scratch game based on a beat box app), and whatever cancer-aids tiktok trend is popular (skibidi toilet, 67, italian brainrot) most of these videos being made in either gta v, minecraft or roblox.

Here's a clip for you king.

The fact that I hear audience laughing in this clip...amd it doesn't sound like laughing AT this stuff because of how bad it is but like trained seals enjoying it.

I'm getting Ren & Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon vibes...
I don't know how true those rumors about an apc version of spongebob are, but this is probably the closest we'll get to seeing timeline where that did end up happening.

Merry Christmas to all and too all may Neptune have mercy on your souls.

STANDBY FOR CHRISTMAS!

Thunderbirds - Give Or Take A Million
kind of sucks, there's a decent story about a bank heist but it's not like Santa calls International Rescue. Also features a make-a-wish kid getting to visit the island. They don't specify what's wrong with him but he picks TB-3 so clearly something is wrong with his brain.

Stingray - A Christmas To Remember
nice enough, WASP gang does their thing at Christmastime, also includes some kid

Terrahawks - A Christmas Miracle
SHIT BLOWS THE FUCK UP (even for Anderson). It's Christmastime and the long-simmering war of Zelda and her evil robot android zombie skesis whatever the fuck they are (and their cube minions) against the good(ish) forces of Ninestein and the gang escalates from paced for a weekly endless series to Ideon Be Invoked

Zootopia 3 doing better than Avatar 3. James Cameron acting like a nigger over the China market snubbing avatar 3 for Zootopia 2.

Says a lot people favor normal talking animals over humanoid feline mutants destroying humanity.

Telling human stories using animals as allegories of personality archetypes is as old as humanity itself, it is no surprise regular movie goers would prefer to look a cute cartoon animals over Cameron's uncanny-valley-blue-monkey-cat-xenoinjuns.

A lot has changed since 2009 when the original Avatar came out. The notion of the "noble savage" lost its social and cultural value among every day people. Fortunately now there are historians that have taken an honest look at the true history of primitive cultures and shown the extend of the brutality and merciless nature of people who lived and died in a state of uncivilized wilderness. There is also the issue of Western societies experiencing first-hand being "enriched" over the years by the presence of literal 3rd world savages that care not for the societies or the people that hosts them.

Cameron has become too much of a liberal misanthrope in his opinions as of late and it doesn't help that he is too much of a boomer to notice how the message of his movies do not resonate with the way society is going. The idea of trying to paint humanity as the bad guy by portraying it in the most contrived, cartoonishly evil way possible while at the same time as incompetent just doesn't fly anymore. There is a reason why Quaritch and not Jake Sully is the most popular character in the franchise.

The visuals and technology of the movie may be state-of-the-art but the message is outdated. Cameron hasn't gotten the memo that the audience actually wants to see humanity win.

There's also the much simpler and overarching fact that Avatar just plain isn't good and never has been. The first movie was forgettable but inoffensive at best and the second one mostly just confused people. Plus this third one is coming out within such a short time span following the second movie that was met with a resounding "meh" from critics and audiences. Frankly I didn't even realize there was a third one until I saw this thread talk about it.

Honestly, the first one was more popular for the fact it was so mind-blowing to visually watch. The new 3D technology at the time that actually worked, the jaw-dropping beauty of Pandora, and if you saw it in IMAX, Jesus Christ it was an experience. It was a spectacle. Nobody cared about the actual story, but if you did pay attention it was just Dances With Wolves, which is already a popular "nature good" story and an easy win. That's why the first one was so popular. If it came out in the "nobody goes to the movies" landscape that this one came out in, it would never have been even close to the biggest movie in the world.

that actually worked
Only for some people, the 3d technology they used doesn't work for everyone or at least not very well and it can give people splitting headaches. I know it did for me.

It possibly still could have been since it was such an amazing spectacle, the issue is that's all it really was.

The whole franchise is very stuck in the nineties in the worst way.

Huh, I didn't know that. All I know is "3D movies" were a scam with the red and blue glasses, they didn't really do anything. It just made things red and blue. The clear one actually makes things look 3D, and it gave those hipster girlies back in the 2010s the chance to get glasses frames to pop the lenses out of and wear around everywhere.

Yeah I don't know exactly why since my eyes are otherwise in excellent shape but for some people the 3d effects wouldn't pop and you'd get a wicked headache right around the 90 minute mark.
