Thought this was worth screencapping because it's IanJ saying it's totally fine for bad shows to exist while good ones get cancelled.

EDIT: Oh, and these posts from him too:

Something funny about Ian defending Uncle Grandpa.
I liked Uncle Grandpa when I actually sat down and watched some of it. Very wacky silliness.
As for the show, it's cute, but it seems to be doing the Hazbin thing of boiling Christian theology down to Being A Good Fucking Person™. OK, it's a kid's show unlike Hazbin, but why use Christian symbolism in the first place if you're just going to boil it down to "vibes"?
THIS!! I can understand having a show set in Hell, or getting more vague and just being in an "Underworld," but once you start bringing Heaven and angels into it then it gets messy. Not everything can/should be Evangelion and evoke Christian imagery just because it looks cool. I kind of wish there could be a show that accurately follows Christian theology without being some boring/preachy Sunday school cartoon like Cherub Wings.

God what a stupid fucking idea, not only is it not remotely entertaining but it barely makes sense, and why would some diaspora city girl be the one doing the historian work instead of one of the many non-diaspora locals anyways??? Typical second+ gen immigrant narcissism.

Yet anothet instance of an asian american being another indoctrinated liberal maniac

Why should I watch the above? I didn't bother with Hazbin after season 1 because I found the songs to be clunky and the way it utilized Christian mythology to be boring.

Not to worry. Its legacy lives on through innovative new writers, so long as they're able to escape the chains of Nickelodeon's corporate prison!

Yea these people were genocided in a major war but what about the queers???? Was the ~queer lifestyle~ okay??? Did they protect the ~queer magic?!?!?~ They will never stop pushing this bullshit.

Second gen+ orientals are the same as second gen+ beaners. Desperate to prove they aren't actually American and that they don't "act white".
Have you eaten yet?

I noticed that a lot of second gen+ Asians are really sensitive about their food, just like beaners are sensitive about Spanish. Like there are a ton of videos and whole animations about azns and how important dumplings are and how whyt kids found their food weird in elementary. Food is a cultural touchstone, especially among leftists for reasons, but I can't tell if Asians are like this because of historical famines or fear of their assimilating model minority status erasing other parts of their heritages.

It's because for orientals (and beaners, most minorities tbh) food is basically the only part of their culture that has been integrated into the United States on a wide scale. Food, and anime, although that's specifically a Jap thing and there are way fewer nips in the States then there are gooks chinks and hmongs.

When you're desperate to attempt to reconnect to roots you never had the only three things that are easily accessible are food, language, and music. But language is difficult and music requires at least a little cultural understanding and can still come across as weird, so that leaves you with food. And the great irony with 99% of "ethnic" (read: non-white) foods and dishes is that they are improved by exposure to a foreign culture. Mexican, Chinese, and Indian food in particular are always better when made by anyone other than their native cultures.

It's funny how nobody even remembers it was a spin-off of another show, Secret Mountain Fort Awesome.

The secret is how awful the show was.
This feels like something I've seen before, I don't remember Uncle Grandpa having a spin off show that looked like this, UG was an acid trip or sure from what memory serves but this looks like a re-visioned Problem Solverz, how awful was this spin-off?

The characters are all named after shit, talk like a bunch of frat bros, and take part in so much gross-out humor, you'd swear it was a cartoon from the 90s.

It's weird that I remember hating this show when it debuted, but ended up liking Uncle Grandpa for a while. Idk what Peter Brown did, but he sure pulled his weight in learning from his mistakes ig.

Also he gets points for making SU fans seethe for that crossover episode.
