They're known for their cost-cutting tactics to make cheap, safe, corpo-mandated movies for more gain. They seem to splurge more on marketing and that's why they're so profitable. Despicable Me was truly a fluke.

Illumination has a reputation for making low effort obnoxious slop movies. Seeing their repertoire makes it clear why they have this reputation. Illumination is basically what Dreamworks was back when they were in their low point pumping out annoying talking animal movies.

Translation: Yes it is Minions. Also they made the Grinch remake, which was only notable for how it tied into the Smash Bros community setting the internet on fire.

All the Storytime animators are boring because they all come from the same breed of Bluesky artist with zero real-life experiences and nothing interesting to say, and all their attempts at humor are terrible.
The point I'm getting at is that there needs to be more chud storytime animators.
I wanna see someone animate their experience with Jaquavious D'science chimping out at the local gas station, I wanna see "Soyjak Storytime" animate their rant about the JQ using their quirky internet OC as a stand-in for them, shit would be peak.

Take this with a huge grain of salt since I can't provide proof at this time, but James (OddOne) has been losing friends left and right due to laying off his entire animation staff with little to no warning. His biggest whiteknights are becoming real desperate to find a victim to bully so they're putting blame on Jaiden for not offering to hire the recently fired animators. To my knowledge she's moved on to being a vtuber so expecting a handout from her seems ridiculous.

His whiteknights consist of Game Grumps adjacent people and younger "creatives" in Hollywood. If any hate against Jaiden begins pouring out from their inner circle, it's manufactured.

DBDR's trucel stories animated like a storytuber would be chud kino. I'm surprised there isn't a market for failed men animating their life stories, if not for the "relatability" then definitely for the cringe/funny factor.
