Don't forget Code Lyoko.
Teen Titans, Totally Spies, Super Duper Sumos, Ying Yang Yo, even Big Hero 6 if you count the comic books! Even PPG had some serious Japanese influences at times (like the big robot mech, Mojo Jojo's whole accent, etc.)
The Life and Times of Juniper Lee
Oh my god, I'm immediately taken back to the funniest/most stupid art criticism I ever got.
A couple years ago, I was developing one of my ideas for a cartoon into an actual pitch/pilot script. My shitass boyfriend decided he was tired of hearing me talk about it and was going to "help" me by secretly sharing my personal email address in a group of his film school classmates and telling them to help me produce it. So I woke up to dozens of emails from complete strangers who all assumed I had finished, polished, ready-to-go scripts and storyboards.
I had to tell everyone individually that I wasn't near that stage, that I didn't even ask my boyfriend to share my email, bla bla bla, but one girl was insistent I send her something I'd made just so she could see what I was working on. She seemed nice and genuinely curious so I sent her my character designs. She sends me back this massive fucking wall of text about how horrible and racist and bad my main character's design was because [my character] was a Chinese-American teenage girl with long straight hair. She told me how it's all stereotypes and some asians have brown skin and some asians have wavy hair and some asians have big boobs and bla bla bla.... At the end of this big-ass super pissed off email, she caps it off with "And she looks just like Juniper Lee!"
I was super hurt until I read that line, then it was just hilarious. She didn't actually give a fuck about a good character design, she was just mad I didn't design my OC the way she would have designed my OC! I told her that I appreciated the feedback but wasn't looking to completely overhaul the main character's appearance right now (which some of it had story reasons anyway,) to which she condescended to me like "well I'M in art school and in MY classes with PROFESSIONALS in the INDUSTRY they say to KILL YOUR DARLINGS" (as if I'd never heard of that concept before, lol.) I ended up blocking her email address because she was just too hostile about one fucking drawing.
I never worked on the cartoon again after this, I felt too weird and shitty about it, but I do think it's funny that the worst insult someone could think to give me was that my character looked like...[checks notes] the protagonist of a cartoon that actually made it onto television. Oh the horror, lol.

And as if modern cartoonists ever take that advice (spoiler alert: they don't, kek)

There were a lot of Asian/Asian-inspired shows back then.
Jackie Chan Adventures was legit as hell though.

Engraved in my membrane.

One more thing. A show I've never heard of but is a nice throwback to pre-Obama Rated-T for Teen cartoons. It's from that tranche of raunchy shows they were making for a few years in the vein of Drawn Together. Not my cup of tea but this one was kind of fun: 'Sit Down, Shut Up'

One more thing. Season 3 of Primal's been enjoyable. I recall some peeps here not being thrilled about it but it's gone back to primarily no-dialogue and I think it's appropriate that the caveman takes so long to recover. Hard things are hard earned.

Any interest here for the works of Aardman (the Wallace and Grommit guy)?
I started putting his crap on in the background (not actively watching). I half-watched/ignored CHicken Run, now I'm doing Shaun the Sheep.
I feel like this is wholesome shit compared to today's cartoons that teach little kids about gay sex or whatever. Everything's clay stop motion (based). Stupid slapstick. Most importantly, aggressively Yorkie. Not just English from a pre-Globohomo world, but also wtih that sort of affectionate parochialism.

Edit: Okay I don't know the name of the guy or where in Bri'in he's from but you all know what I'm talking about.

That's good to hear actually, I'll be sure to check it out. If it's more like Season 1 that's a good thing since Season 2 lost me a bit towards the end.

I rember, I actually remembered the theme song just now. Not to mention American Dragon: Jake Long, Xiaolin Showdown, a few others... There were a lot of Asian/Asian-inspired shows back then.
I miss theme songs. Almost everything, even animated shows, just have logos over a few seconds of orchestral scores now a days. The intro to the latest Spider-Man series was cancer, but I appreciate that they tried!

Omg.

That sounds like a nightmare. I'm sorry that happened. Hope you kept your preliminary work and notes cuz even if you don't want to make that particular cartoon I think you will come back to it many years later and remember the joy the art brought you over that weird experience.

Nick is currently in the gutter SPECIFICALLY because they pushed nothing but SpongeBob for 25 years its popularity
Shit, I forgot how watered-down Nick wound up becoming once Spongebob came into the picture. I had an aunt that had satellite TV with a couple different Nick channels and at least 2 of them was always airing Spongebob.

It's like the studio stopped giving a shit in regards to not only producing but also just airing different shit. I had to go to CN just to get something different and even then they started getting repetitive too with the trio of "AdventureTime/Flapjack/Chowder"

I still feel utterly robbed that I missed "My Life as a Teenage Robot" as a kid because the "Life" and "Teen" in the title made me think that I was too young for it. I would've gone apeshit if I'd seen it.
After Zim and MLaaTR it was pretty much over IMO (except for Avatar). I know that Barnyard and Fanboy and Chum Chum have their fans but I never really watched them.
One thing that I've begun to appreciate more as I've gotten older is just how fucking unhinged FoP could get. Don;t know how Butch kept getting away with it.
Jackie Chan Adventures was legit as hell though.
I feel bad for laughing when it came up in a Tamers episode. It's key jingling but it's MY key jingling dammit.
It helps that the show isn't talked about that much anymore.

It's a shame how it is now.

Those Flapjack/Chowder reruns tricked me into thinking those shows ran way longer than they actually did, they both only had 3 seasons.

Meanwhile Adventure Time gets like 10 seasons, 5 spinoff shows and a theme park. I don't even know why, realistically how much blood can you really squeeze from that rock?

I was watching some slop video essay on classic Disney villains and I have to ask is Gaston even really a villain?

At the time he went to raid the castle he didn't know the Beast was a dude, from his perspective and with the information he had there was a horrifying monster that was kidnapping people from the village and presumably eating them since they never returned.

I'd still say so yeah. He's an egotistical prick that threatened to have Belle's father thrown in an asylum unless she agreed to marry him, and his motivations behind marching on the Beast's castle were purely selfish.

At the start of the movie he's just kind of a dick, but by the end yeah he's a full-on villain.

Speaking of schaffrillas, he's probably one of the last few people to document the cartoon network hotel. Yes that existed, in the middle of Lancaster PA there was a cartoon network hotel, "why is it gone?" You may ask, probably licensing reasons and the fact its in-between the middle of fucking nowhere and amish country, and barely anyone went to the hotel to begin with. Essentially same issues with stuff like the nick hotel.
Anyways they removed the licensing and renamed the hotel after the theme park near it called dutch wonderland.
