Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Not to mention it got utterly butchered because of the head executive of paramount and Kim bassinger changing it from bakshi's original idea about a half human half toon serial killer out to kill her human father after she was conceived when a cartoonist had sex with his own toon creation.

Yes that really was bakshis original idea.
tbh that makes more sense for a thing to make a movie about

Looks a lot like Looney Tunes: Back in Action. That was also mediocre.
Hey in this house Looney Tunes Back in Action was a good movie!

I despise hate watchers so much. Of course it was shit, there was no way that it wasn't going to be and you don't need to give it any attention by stating the blatantly self-evident.
^this. Everyone could've easily seen that this movie was going to be trash and actively smear the original book right down to its core from the first trailer. We don't need you faggots. We've all read the original. Nobody needs you to create "buzz" around the corpse, even if it's to explain what's wrong with it. Nobody needed you to go purchase a ticket to see a displayed corpse and then explain to everyone why it smells bad. Now you know what? They're going to kill more good stories because they don't care why you bought tickets to see the corpse, just that your money proves it'll sell. And in the meantime you have no problem with that because just like Seth Rogen, you're making the original Animal Farm "trending" just as long as it serves you, just as long as you can profit off of "creating content" from something that ultimately tries to erase the original.

Notice how most of these niggas are either animation spergs or youtube poopers? Makes you thunk
the problem is the market for this stuff is entirely normal ass people, people with kids, etc. Loony tunes is an institution of americana and it doesn't need introduction or lore or anything like that, which is why coyote vs acme looks like a funny movie that understands what it is. i would buy a movie ticket. I'm not going to get involved in any of the hypebeast marketing shit and quite frankly it's more likely to deactivate my desire to go see the film. And i don't think millenial marketing executives understand any of this, their only mode of engagement with pop culture is soyfacing

I liked the old movie monster cameos, plus Fraser was always a plus.

There was actually some legal controversy over them using the Daleks from Dr Who given how much of a giant mess the rights to those characters were at the time. Even the 2005 Doctor Who revival show almost didn't get to use them because of how finicky the lawyers were, it was that bad.

>Timmbo finally snaps out of his yellow fever and hooks up with the nerd girl (confirmed hottie in the live action movies btw).
Was this not always obvious? Lol

I believe the daleks used for back in action weren't even from the show: but rather the 60s dalek movies which technically aren't owned by the BBC, but I do believe you on the rights from the Terry Nation estate

Iirc they were actually props built for Loony Tunes: Back In Action, hence their mint condition and slight inaccuracies to the originals, like their plungers being on the wrong side and the guns missing their bars.

Most of the old Dalek props from the 60s movies were already repurposed into props for the show, and by the end of the series the Daleks from both the show and movies were in... well "rough shape" would be putting it mildly, they were basically falling apart given how fucking cheap the BBC was.

They almost never replaced them, instead just taking them apart, patching them up and re-painting them over and over for several decades.

So given how bad most of the originals were just by the end of the 80s when the OG show went kaput I doubt any of the ones we saw in 2003 were authentic.

I know this is super autistic but the thing that bugs me about the back in action "movie" daleks is that eye they use. It's that 70s style dalek iris.

But yeah I knew about the whole dalek swapping story and how there aren't that many classic who dalek props that survived post wilderness years.

Twitter and Bluesky having violent mental breakdowns over Butch Hartman confirming Timmy ended up with Tootsie over Trixie.

I thought everyone wanted him to end up with her older sister Vicki. The same people who wanted what's his name from Gravity Falls to end up with the lumberjack girl who is an expy for Lauren Faust.
