In minor, recent news, a minor Powerpuff Girls villain has become the new bassist for Gorillaz.

Yeah, I'm glad they addressed the whole "IT'S NOT RALPH WRECKS THE INTERNET?!" thing. But this isn't giving me any hopes. Especially since the only plot information we got to go on is that Sugar Rush needs fixing. No word on villains or anything.

At this point, all Disney's got is their lineup of Marvel films and possibly Incredibles 2, but even that looks like it could be a potential letdown.

Well, the villain is almost certainly going to be the blue dyke if this movie is as dumb and predictable as it looks.

>ham-fisted joke about how princesses don't need a man to save them

Why should I care about Disney's continued self-aware jabs at sexism like this, if in real life they're still considering re-hiring John Lasseter.

Eh... maybe I'm not right person to judge, because I'm not a fan of self-referentional self-aware ironic humor this trailer is packed with, but so far I don't like this movie. And Princesses are actually presented in very stereotypical way, how people see them as "Disney Princesses" mass instead of individul characters. And of course they had to refer to "being rescued by a man".
Shrek made fun of it all almost 20 years ago and way better.
For me it feels like Disney's Emoji Movie. But a little less trashy.
It's a pity, I really liked the first movie. :(

I'm tempted to say the portrayal of the Princesses being a cluster mind instead of individuals might be another bit of "self-depreciation" against the audience. And from what I've read, so is the idea of them in modern clothes.

I honestly can't say how I feel about any of this. I guess we'll have to wait until the film itself comes out before making a final judgement since the internet stuff is all we've seen so far and nothing about the basic plot's been revealed in animation form.

I agree. It is still really weird to be honest. Like, Wreck it Ralph had references to other videogames, but it was mostly its own entity still with Ralph and Felix being essentially stand ins for Donkey Kong and Mario. Doing so, they had their own characters and story going for to enjoy. This trailer statrs off with so many actual corporate logos and ideas, it feels more like a marketing sell out than anything else I have seen from Disney over the last years. Like for fucks sake, Disney has done product placement in the past, but this movie is as blatant as someone dressing up as a clown at a funeral.

True. I suppose someone simply wanted a real world approach to this (like they way they did in 1988's Oliver & Company).

EDIT: For title!

Although I probably won't watch it, what I would be concerned is if the references were to get outdated quickly. I think that has been an issue with other movies that tried to make pop culture references in mass, is it?

Also, Total DramaRama's logo has been revealed:

Another new shows is out on the horizon, and just like Thudercats Roar, it's yet another take on an older property, in this case, the classic Harvey Comics of yesteryear (preferably the girl characters), aside from the obvious SJW Cuck-style design and direction, it plays like just every other tired "Kids do outrageous things in their neighborhood!" shtick.

Li'l Dot looks a little different than what I remember, though I can't quite place my finger on how exactly.

Oh yeah, that's right, she's not wearing her trademark red-with-black-polka-dot dress.

Li'l Dot without her red dress is almost as much of a travesty as Hanna-Barbera giving Richie Rich a red sweater with an R on it because Richie's tuxedo was too hard for them to draw!

I see you agree with me on this matter (and I'm sure, just like with the Thundercats reboot, we really don't have a say in this anyway since it's a kids show and forget it), this doesn't really feel like the same Dot to me (unless they retained her obsessiveness for dots in the show, which I'm sorta doubting given the type of personality they want to saddle her with).

Redesigns for Audrey, Dot, Lotta, et al. look so uninspired. Bet you $100 that the show will whitewash Lotta's gluttony because muh fat acceptance and political correctness.

Also, is it just me, or does the neighborhood look a lot like the Eds' Cul de Sac?

I'm sure they will. Nothing that made these girls work before is being done here (assume this version of Dot still has that dot obsession that knows no end).

That's all this reminds me of, it's shows like EE&E, perhaps Phineas and Ferb and any other similar show thrown in a blender and this is the result. It's not very original.
