Redesigns for Audrey, Dot, Lotta, et al. look so uninspired. Bet you $100 that the show will whitewash Lotta's gluttony because muh fat acceptance and political correctness.

Also, is it just me, or does the neighborhood look a lot like the Eds' Cul de Sac?

If you made Little Dot white it'd be pretty much the same facial design as the original, though.

She's still fat, so I assume they'll be doing something with her. She'll probably be incredibly strong like in the original comics.

So that is the big white girl dragon everyone rees about.
... seriously, that is just going to be like Wall-E and Eve. With Toothless as the Wall-E wannabe and the white one as the less logical EVE. Pretty avergae children storytelling stuff.

That said, I like the hints for worldbuilding in this.

On Netflix, that's a shocker...... to nobody.
INB4 Troons reee about how this is transphobic for not making the protagonists straight up dick girls.

Saturday Morning Preview Special from the 70's!

Aw, even if it's not that well animated, I have a soft spot for Hannah-Barbera shows with a more realistic art style, like Johnny Quest or Thundarr The Barbarian.

Oh I bet.

We all do. Apparently Hong Kong Phooey gets highlighted here too!

All I'm getting from this is something along the lines of Edgy-as-fuck She-Zow... And She-Zow was hot garbage to begin with (& I'd rather everyone stay curious about it, if you ask me.).

Then again - it's rare to see something animated from Australia that's actually good (...FACT.).

However, for something that originated in Brazil, which is where Combo Studios is located, they're not making a good case for anyone to take them seriously with this premise, honestly.

Why should they try to make something serious?
Who knows, perhaps this isn't some "woke" shit and actually like some unapologetic 90s comedy sketch. Hey, remember: Once upon a time dressing up in drag was not a choice. It was comedy.
I am at least trying to see how this may end, cause if it was not made by an north american studio, it may actually be better. Cause hot take: North America sucks at creating "woke" animation.

... And sadly, those days are long gone now. But yeah, if this ain't some "woke" BS, this might be OK - just OK.

... Sad, but oh so true, especially if Steven Universe is any indication. This seems like it's grounded in some reality - as in one that doesn't pretend WWII didn't happen, just because.

For me it is also just that if I compare how american entertainment does something like people in drag compared to other countries now, other countries seem to come off in most cases as more "liberal" and less ideological for a lack of a better word. As in cross dressing in some parts of the world like Japan or South America is less about people getting offended because it is interpreted as an attack against trans folks, as much as that it is some sort of comedy behind it, without any insensitive intend really behind it.

People just have to get it into their head that while certain comedy of the 90s was certainly not nice to gay or trans people, it was not meant to be offensive in an ideological way. And the same still goes for today. And I don't want to sound like anti american, but I get the impression that for all the talk about how "progressive" american media needs to become, they end up on a more ideological scale in their media now than even some shows in countries such as Russia.

This is exactly what happened. I do miss what it had been too.

Another new shows is out on the horizon, and just like Thudercats Roar, it's yet another take on an older property, in this case, the classic Harvey Comics of yesteryear (preferably the girl characters), aside from the obvious SJW Cuck-style design and direction, it plays like just every other tired "Kids do outrageous things in their neighborhood!" shtick.

CAN WE STOP THE "HAHA, SAILOR MOON TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE PARODY/REFERENCE" TREND?
It's so so so tired at this point. It's what 99% of any references to Sailor Moon is. And as anime it really dosn't fit here, in adaptation of classic american comic strips.

If all you can make for yourself is references, references, and more references without reason, especially in something very difficult to truly get right like slice-of-comedy (for the family to hopefully watch), you know you have problems.

And as someone who really doesn't like Sailor Moon all that much (and especially Star Vs., for an example of being a half-assed version of that, weighed further down by boring/bad comedy and romantic BS!), I can visibly see why this is an issue - and something to be weary of, as it shows me this show has no real voice of its own to be proud of.

And this is only a preview I'm expressing this much annoyance towards...

Star vs Forces of Evil is VERY different show from Sailor Moon in tone, structure and plot. There are visual references from time to time, one character that is Stars idol and have Sailor Moon hairstyle (is extremly different character wise) and fact that Star's powers are parody of "girly" shows/magical girl spell names.
I'm not a fan of this show either.

Sigh....as someone who likes star, I get it. People are sick and tired of the animu bs, shipping shit, and "filler" that it has that I can understand. I'm kinda scared to even admit that I like things that are either anime (not the moe blob crap) or cal art dip offs. Steven universe is a show I watch but I just never cared for now a days. personally, Craig of the creek is a better show in my eyes, cuz atleast it knows what genre it is. Universe has a notable identity crisis that's been hitting it down in the later seasons.

but again, people are different opinions. It would be boring as shit to see people agree to the same things. Trust me, I have seen it and it scares me dearly.

And with THAT... you've proven you're just one more person I can actually respect.
