Funny enough, Becky Sugar's big storyboard and musical gig was on AT before making SU, and oh boy did she make the same mistakes her old boss did! It's kind of funny how AT influenced SU only for SU to influence AT in the end (the PB/MC kiss and big battles having disappointing payoffs).

It looks okay-ish but I’d have to see how it looks when it’s properly animated to form a final opinion. If the Looney Tunes reboot is any indication then the writing will be iffy at best.

Agreed. I like how it looks but it's promotion material, it's supposed to look better than the actual thing. I hope there's still some magic in that old water tower. :optimistic:

Removing female characters just because of how they look is ironically sexist, hilariously. Too bad they don’t seem to get that.

Sherri Stoner was confirmed years back to not be coming back for the reboot - either as a writer or a voice actor - as she heavily disagreed with Warner/the new blood on the direction of the reboot. And unfortunately, without Sherri Stoner, you don't have Slappy, nor do you have anyone who could write her character well.

So they just decided to scrap her alongside most of the other secondary and tertiary cast, and instead replaced the majority of them with "new arrivals". Meaning AFAIK: no Goodfeathers, no Rita and Runt, no Minerva Mink, no Buttons and Mindy, no Good Idea Bad Idea, no Hip Hippos, no Hello Nurse, no Randy Beaman, and so on.

None of the original writers are involved, and that gives me apprehension.

I heard Bernadette Peters was actually coming back as Rita, so they could show up... but half of the show's characters I wouldn't mind not coming back. How many of you out there are crying for more Hip Hippos and Katie Ka-Boom?

...I thought so.

Katie kaboom was kinda funny since in hindsight you realize it's essentially a period/puberty joke they got past the censors on a kids show. But really it overstayed its welcome, it could have been funny once maybe twice or three times if it followed the subversive rule of three when it comes to comedy but it was the same joke every time.

So yeah I had high hopes for this animaniacs reboot it had the potential to be a warner equivalent to the Nickelodeon reboot movies or season 5 of samurai jack but now it looks as bleak and shameless as ppg 2016 ben 10 2017 or ttg

Let's be honest with ourselves, most of them were one-note at best. Sure Good Idea, bad Idea was fun, but who here actually liked (or even remember) Katie Ka-Boom or any of the one-off shorts?

Besides, didn't the writers hate Minerva from the get go because of how much of a character she lacked besides "furry bait"?

The censors did, and that's why she only appeared in two shorts.
