It really wouldn't have a point unless Christian's last name was Weston-Chandler, or even better Chandler-Weston.

Well, the way he goes about referring to himself, the uninformed peons might actually think Weston-Chandler is his last name.

I really think its a sad and useless way to try to say the mother's lineage is important, but not important enough to think about for more than one generation. It really wouldn't have a point unless Christian's last name was Weston-Chandler, or even better Chandler-Weston. Unfortunately, women from that time period have been taught for so long they are second class citizens that I wouldn't be surprised if she was those type of women that make me want to vomit and punch them by calling herself "Mrs. Bob Chandler".

However, this is coming from a woman way ahead of her time that kept her last name when she got married and my son's last name is hyphenated His last name-MY last name. To me, the whole having Weston as his middle name is just a pathetic useless attempt. Not trying to sound A-Loggy, I am a feminist waaay ahead of her time that just sees it as pointless and sad. Now, Christian's view of women's rights is starting to become clearer...

I like that that's coming from someone with a blowup doll avatar :P

What happens when your son gets married? Does the other party gain two more last names in addition to their own?
Not being snarky, I've just never thought about that. *yawn*

I hadda five part name, before I moved to the US. :( If I had to have a kid, I don't even know what my fuckhead dad and uncle would have named the poor bastard (us women-servants have absolutely no say in the matter).

Some folks take this shit real serious, it seems. Sentimentality is one of those things I don't quite grasp, so I don't have a reasonable opinion on why he's Christian Weston Chandler. Whatever the case may be, though, I think I can reasonably say that Chris would be much MUCH better off if he changed his name as well. In this networked era, that specific combination of names is synonymous with failure.

I always thought Weston was one of his last names... You see in Spanish people have First Name, Second Name, First LastName, Second Lastname. but some people only have First Name, First Lastname, Second Lastname. I thought somehow some people in the States had this last model too.
But I guess I was wrong. *yawn*

Some do but generally only Hispanic people. Most Americans are first name, middle name, family name.

I think he just clings to the Weston because it's his middle name thus part of his identity.
