The sad part is that even after these lawsuits, there's no convincing these people that Vic is innocent, if he is, though we're expected to take him as guilty if he's found so. Just to continue their disavowal of the legal system, they'll refuse Vic's acquittal and point at the Casey Anthonys and the O.J Simpsons of the world, even though those are entirely different cases with different prosecution and defense, jury, and entirely different crimes.
God I hope whatever is found in discovery will have these people slack-jawed.
Something we saw during
the Autism Holy War was that the opposition could lie openly, about anything, to fucking insane degrees, and never be called on it, even while being given hilariously preferential treatment by the press. This had an unusual effect on the psychology of the Anti-GGers; any information that ran counter to the narrative was disregarded, and any that backed it up was gleefully grabbed up even if patently false.
This resulted in some truly surreal shit during that time: Because the Antis were utterly impervious to reason, persuasion, and simple logic, arguing with them quickly became a complete waste of time, though trapping them in their own idiocy became something of a spectator sport. Time and time again, they'd mount the same attacks and get mocked openly for it, whereupon they'd block everyone remotely critical of them and remount the same offensives, having learned nothing. Sometimes, out of what I can only describe as pure, unadulterated frustration, some poor neutral would point out the failed logistics of the situation, only to get deemed a GGer by the shrieking tard brigade and further swell their ranks as it became clear that they couldn't handle even tangential disagreement. This complete fucking nonsense is how the likes of William Shatner, Anne Rice, and Richard Dawkins came out as being pro-GG in all but name - the Antis wouldn't listen to reason or fuck off and leave them alone.
In the weeb wars, we've seen a new take on this. Their tactics, by and large, haven't changed. What has changed is the internet as a whole and their grip on the sidelines. Back during GG, their ability to steer narratives meant no one was going to listen to get the truth of what was going on without approaching the shitstorm. Pretty much anyone who had no dog in the fight would come out as GG-supporting because the opposition was fucking insane, but GG opposition had the full support of the press and enough useful stooges in the right places to ensure the narrative was enforced. That shit isn't the case for the Weeb Wars: the randos in the KickVic crowd are slowly coming around and abandoning the cause and without the support of the press (especially now that Vic's greasing them up for the Justice Boner™), they can barely keep to a coherent message offensively and defensively.
In GG, the Antis took months to fully build up to breaking down, and years for the full details to emerge thereafter.
In the Weeb Wars, it took
days, and escalated to full on lawsuit territory in mere months.
It's fucking magical, Kiwis.
