I think the most beautiful thing is that these people have been attacking incomes for awhile with just baseless allegations and no one has really fought back before. Their entire life is online, they have no real world experience or knowledge, so they basically just break apart when someone comes back with a lawyer. I think you're eventually going to see a lot more litigation, because most of these people are fucking loser beggars with no real purpose or job.

As was to be expected.

I'd say that's why you actually aren't going to see more litigation, at least not against them. They have no fucking money!

It's when people who actually do have money collude to use these hate mobs, thus assuming liability for their actions while they direct them, that you see litigation. When industry insiders push Twitter hate mobs for personal profit, that's when you see lawsuits.

Specifically, when you see people like the defendants in Vic's suit jointly and severally liable for the defamation committed by people like Renfamous at their behest, so that person's outrageous behavior results in a multi-million dollar verdict and they have no money so, hey, it's Monica Rial who has to pay it. It's Funimation. It's Chris Sabat. Etc. When those motherfuckers start to pay, they may rethink the wisdom of their actions.

The sad part is that even after these lawsuits, there's no convincing these people that Vic is innocent, if he is, though we're expected to take him as guilty if he's found so. Just to continue their disavowal of the legal system, they'll refuse Vic's acquittal and point at the Casey Anthonys and the O.J Simpsons of the world, even though those are entirely different cases with different prosecution and defense, jury, and entirely different crimes.

God I hope whatever is found in discovery will have these people slack-jawed.

They will go down the heroes of their stories, they went up against the big bad man and lost! They fought so hard and they did so much and it was just like an anime!!!

I just don't know what possesses some people to dye their hair such unnaturally fluorescent colors.
People who do it are like bugs, they use their hair colour to try ward you off like a defense system but their bite is more harmless and irritating than damaging to ones health (other than the cancer you get by listening to them)

Something we saw during the Autism Holy War was that the opposition could lie openly, about anything, to fucking insane degrees, and never be called on it, even while being given hilariously preferential treatment by the press. This had an unusual effect on the psychology of the Anti-GGers; any information that ran counter to the narrative was disregarded, and any that backed it up was gleefully grabbed up even if patently false.

This resulted in some truly surreal shit during that time: Because the Antis were utterly impervious to reason, persuasion, and simple logic, arguing with them quickly became a complete waste of time, though trapping them in their own idiocy became something of a spectator sport. Time and time again, they'd mount the same attacks and get mocked openly for it, whereupon they'd block everyone remotely critical of them and remount the same offensives, having learned nothing. Sometimes, out of what I can only describe as pure, unadulterated frustration, some poor neutral would point out the failed logistics of the situation, only to get deemed a GGer by the shrieking tard brigade and further swell their ranks as it became clear that they couldn't handle even tangential disagreement. This complete fucking nonsense is how the likes of William Shatner, Anne Rice, and Richard Dawkins came out as being pro-GG in all but name - the Antis wouldn't listen to reason or fuck off and leave them alone.

In the weeb wars, we've seen a new take on this. Their tactics, by and large, haven't changed. What has changed is the internet as a whole and their grip on the sidelines. Back during GG, their ability to steer narratives meant no one was going to listen to get the truth of what was going on without approaching the shitstorm. Pretty much anyone who had no dog in the fight would come out as GG-supporting because the opposition was fucking insane, but GG opposition had the full support of the press and enough useful stooges in the right places to ensure the narrative was enforced. That shit isn't the case for the Weeb Wars: the randos in the KickVic crowd are slowly coming around and abandoning the cause and without the support of the press (especially now that Vic's greasing them up for the Justice Boner™), they can barely keep to a coherent message offensively and defensively.

In GG, the Antis took months to fully build up to breaking down, and years for the full details to emerge thereafter.
In the Weeb Wars, it took days, and escalated to full on lawsuit territory in mere months.
It's fucking magical, Kiwis.

Even with the press, Bollea v. Gawker proved that publications like ANN or i09 (i09's situation is ironic as it is a descendant of Gawker) are not invincible. They can be brought down! In Vic's case, it is in reason to believe that, should enough discovery come to light, these publications might collapse should the damages be high enough.

That will go far to establishing damages. If there's a separate damages phase for the trial, all the people smearing him after the people they're stanning for lose will show that the reputational damage is permanent, can be expected to last into the future, and the damages verdict as well as the punitive damages should be enormous to compensate for that.

So these disgusting creeps, in their own way, are helping to put money into Vic's pocket.

That isn't really a precedent for this case (unfortunately), but it is a fantastic example of how a jury of normal, sane people respond to the arrogant malice of snarky Internet people who think they can just ruin a man with impunity for no reason other than that they decided he was fair game.

That's an upside but I just feel for the guy, because I can only imagine money was the last thing he cared about, and would've rather had these people see that he isn't responsible for these retarded sounding accusations.

The coffee thing seemed real to me. Considering the twitter mob is about twelve dangerhairs a 25% donation rate is wildy successful.
