What are Samsungs even good for?

I fully admit my negritude on this topic.
How are these for security/privacy compared to custom firmware on a regular Android? Does it have less bloatware and more admin functions since it's business-oriented?
It's got this shit called "knox" which is this pre-installed encryption thing which I never touch. Pretty sure the bootloader is locked too with an extra custom verification token because the police and army don't want niggas hacking their phones which sucks but word on the street is that there may be workarounds for it soon.
I'm pretty sure it had less bloatware than my 2015 normal samsung (and it also has a nice amount of built in memory) but I can't remember exactly.

Edit: Apparently the latest firmware (might not even be the latest, I haven't actually checked) has an option for OEM unlock but I wouldn't know as I didn't update due to macarena virus.

Galaxy Notes went from obnoxiously slow and unwieldly, to literally explosive, to actually really nice, to still really nice but annoyingly gimped unless you coughed up the big bucks. Like I think Samsung really got their shit together for the Note 8 and 9 after the catastrophe of the Note 7 exploding, and then got complacent and started pulling features on the 10 and 20 just to upsell the Ultra models.

Well, RIP. I like my Note 9 enough to where my next phone will probably be another Note 9 and I'll just frankenstein the working parts together as things fall apart until I can't anymore.

The XDA forum would beg to differ about not being able to unlock bootloaders on new Samsung phones.

Geezus christ, besides the ones that have been deemed impossible, if you can't unlock/root your phones, you are doing it wrong, or just retarded and shouldn't even be attempting it.

This would have to be one of the most retarded OP posts I've ever seen on here.

Apple shill I'm betting.

I don't know where else to put this, but anyways. I got an email from samsung with some ad shit so obviously I went to unsubscribe (should be illegal to spam shit like this) and when I do it says to allow 7-10 business days to unsubscribe from the service. They're literally manually unsubcribing people from marketing emails.

Samsung has 1 redeeming value, resell value. Most people would rather buy a $300 Samsung device over a $200 Nokia, Xiaomi, etc even if they are the superior value because Samsung has a reputation for having good products. I guess most people have forgotten about the note 7 Fiasco.

Samsung bad. That being said, get an industry-standard smartphone so you can replace the battery without having to disassemble the thing like a retard.

You niggers are doing it wrong. If you want a samsung you get an xcover industrial model

Let's see:
Waterproof - check
Headphone Jack - check
Armoured (Strong independent phone that don't need no case) - check
Tough screen that recognizes gloves - check
Long battery like - check
Good processor and gpu - check
Dual Sim and MicroSD - check

Oh, and one last thing

Removable back with replacable battery - check
what kind of glass is in it? ive been using casios and kyoceras for a long time, switched to an s10e last year(2 years?).

i like the s10e, it works as a smartphone, makes calls, does apps and has dex so i dont have to bring a laptop with me when i travel. best part is that it doesnt shit itself like the casios and kyoceras when mutlitasking and people can hear me when i call them. kyoceras had a worbble from the screen as a speaker vibrations.

had moto zs when they came out, love the battery pack and still use it at home with the jbl speaker pack (battery drains after 2 hours so its plugged in when i use it).

$500 bucks aint bad might get it as a backup. plus no curves.

for sure what sucks is that i lost the call recorder when android 10 came out.

e: gorilla glass 5 but no dex support. nvm

Samsung has three major purposes that I can think of;

1. They offer an Apple level "premium experience" for the normies who don't care about things like locked bootloaders, rooting, etc, without the "Brand Jail" tied to Apple. You just buy a Samsung, turn it on, and it "just works", as Apple used to so proudly flaunt... difference is, you can hop over to another Android manufacturer's handset fairly easily. There's only one Apple.

2. Those of us who want to unlock bootloaders, root our phones etc usually benefit greatly from the ubiquity of the devices. Chinkphones and $100 Walmart handsets usually get (at the most) a very small number of hobbyists working on finding and documenting things like rooting methods and the like, but it's virtually guaranteed someone will have the latest Samsung flagships blown wide open within a week of release, if not the day of.

3. They're responsible for a huge amount of Android's momentum in the market, in terms of both hardware and software. Without a company like Samsung operating in this market space and holding the combination of popularity and funding that they do, other Android manufacturers would have stagnated back in the Kit Kat days rather than riffing off of Samsung's designs to create more budget-conscious versions of the features that are in the highest demand. Trickle down featurenomics, if you will. Everybody else dropped the ball pretty hard when the Smartphone market was first developing, and if not for Samsung then I honestly think Android phones would be in the same boat as the Pine Phone etc - tech most people have never heard of, outside of Stallman (PBUH) and his followers. They turned Apple's seizing of the market into an arms race, and we only need to look to the state of the Macbook to see what happens when they're allowed to operate in a market niche without an arms race keeping them on their toes.

It pisses me off that Samsung is known for this. They are the only brand that usually has easily unlocked bootloaders, the most mainstream support, and are the only brand that still allows video out over USB, something that is handy if you have a USB dock or want to use DeX.

But their low end phones suck. The A series holds no candle tot he likes of the moto G power or the Google pixel a line, and the galaxy phones have gotten LOLworthy levels of expensive. I'd pay $1000, if they had a replaceable battery ALA the note 4. I aint paying over $300 for something with a sealed battery.

tbh I don't trust Xiaomi.
