What are some dumb millennial traits that gen z's avoid?

They're more nihilistic which is a relative plus by contrast if only because of the abjectly homosexual way millennials treat things like "social consciousness" but also more vapid and insufferable. Though it's somewhat unfair to judge them too harshly just yet because they haven't really dealt with an immediate, tangible crisis as a generation yet (covid lockdowns don't count because it was astroturfed faggotry). It'll be easier to tell whether they're worth anything or not once we have the first major war or whatever with primarily zoomer conscripts.

They and "gen alphas" aren't in an enviable position because the relative stability of the first world is rapidly eroding and they'll be left to deal with most of the mess in the decades to come.

I have a serious one, using a bald white humanoid to represent yourself while blogposting is now considered dumb and is no longer a common way to express despair, instead it is you, poster I disagree with who looks like this and says this.

They're so amusing, grew up in a world of smartphones. Can't live without one, shy anxiety riddled babies. Having mental issues is apparently a cool thing, despite the majority of them have self diagnosed themselves or had an influencer do it for them. Slightest bit of manual labour is enough to cry over. Prepare for the generation of Instagram models and Gaming Streamers. No other job will get done.

Zoomers vape which is the douchier cousin of smoking.

Millennials tend not to use tobacco because they've been mindfucked by years of relentless anti-tobacco propaganda.
If that's a millennial stereotype, it's one I'm happy to embody.

Growing up, I had friends with heavy smoker parents and everything in their houses was disgusting. That yellow patina that would develop on surfaces and the smell of twenty years of stale smoke that stuck in your clothes and hair - ugggh.

Zoomers are exactly the same as millennials if not worse
There's a sect of zoomers born between 2001 and 2009 that have inherited the traits of Tumblr millennials, but they're even more extreme and with political and philosophical schizophrenia that is much worse than their millennial predecessors. To give you an example, I'm currently looking into a particular block game which has been ravaged by a particular brand of political sperg and troon enabler, to the point where people are afraid to speak up about pedophile accusations. A few of these users in particular can be diagnosed with a rather bad strain of political schizophrenia. But that's another story for another time for another thread.

That aside, if you put that aside and take the generational aggregate, zoomers are a mixed bag. You either get someone great with some issues they need to work on or you get someone terrible with no redeeming qualities. Whether they've yet to develop said good character qualities we'll see in the next five to ten years.

I think it's important to note, and once again can be personal experiences at play, but perhaps Gen Z's apathy is tied to the inevitable rolling shit snowball scenario. I constantly hear from boomers, Millennials, and older Gen X the "I'll be dead when X happens so who cares."

But the issue is, Gen Z and Gen Alpha DO have to deal with that shit. And most of said shit is truly disheartening. My whole life I've listened to MSM talk about how bad the national debt is but it always wasn't our problem because "we'll be dead when it pops hard" Well it looks like chances are more than likely the big pop will occur in Gen Z's/Alpha's timeline, and when the three generations before you never had to experience such woe's and refuse to care because "I'll be dead" well fuck, I understand their apathy.

Their teachers, their guides, their elders, didn't give a single fuck because it wasn't THEIR problem to deal with despite the fact it was THEIR generation to cause it or inflate/allow it to continue. So Z's and Alpha's in my experience are driveless and I can't blame them. They've been handed a bucket a shit and told by those who lived lavishly in comparison "eat up" no wonder they're dropping everything and doing fuck all. Not that this is good, just reasonable to expect.

(PS. It's more than economy, there are a billion issues at hand, I'm hitting the nail on the head regarding the "I don't care I'll be dead" aspect)

Bro, if you think Millennials (and hell, even Gen Xers) are going to be dead by the time all our current impending crises come to a head, you're terrible at grade-school arithmetic.

Statistically speaking, I'm not even halfway through my lifespan yet.

As has been said already, zoomers are less evangelical about Current Thing. Less oversocialised, actually. They're less afraid of questioning narratives. For the most part, I like zoomers.

The bad side is that they're the new boomers when it comes to technology. They know how to work the fisher price UI on their phone, but too seldom anything deeper. They don't know how to pirate shit or get around silly restrictions.

I don't think so, I'm saying this is what I hear from dozens of people I've talked to who are fellow Millennials. I qualify in this range myself but I hope to live long enough that I KNOW it will be my problem. They seem to all think death in their 60's is preferable than dealing with societal issues.

Late Zoomie speaking. I'd point to the pandemic being the eye-opening moment that turned forced Gen Z as a whole to face reality. Generally more nihilistic due to the previous reasons stated above, the optimism for the future I used to have has been long worn down. We were "promised" a better future than our parents, technically starting in a better place than them and barely making ends meet. Now we get saddled with the ever-growing snowball of problems with no real solutions, forced to keep soyciety churning at our expense. A concern of mine is whether important skills are being transferred to new people. Once those last Boomers (or Gen X)retire, would we be able to take up the mantle?

Sure, we care about the environment and Saving the Turtles but we're not in any position to do much about it. I personally got a stick up my ass with smoking an alcohol, though this varies from person to person. Generation Z's a mixed bag on everything else.

I know a young man who's an international-grade athlete, he's regularly been to the sport's world championships and may well be a future Olympian if he so chooses to pursue it.

He couldn't figure out how to add me as a friend on his Nintendo.

I look at generations primarily through the lens of how they see the world, their concept of nation, and specifically their attitudes toward the American Dream. I could be wrong but here's my general assessment:

Boomers: American Dream is alive and well.
Full on Patriotic, believes in democracy wholeheartedly. Record high wages, low interest rates, and cheap housing. The post-WWII world order created endless possibilities and optimism. The social aftermath of the turbulant 60's meant the future could only get better from there.
Influenced heavily by Post-WWII Americana TV culture, Vietnam War, Watergate, and Hippie shit

X: The American Dream still exists, but its not nearly as black and white.
Skeptic but still on board in terms of Patriotism and democray. Technology advancements makes life easier, but with a slight fear of the unknown. The hypocrisy and negliect from their free spirited parents made them somewhat resentful and detached from political and social obligations.
Influenced heavily by Punk/Anarchist Movements of the late 80's early 90's, Dot Com Bubble Burst, Y2K and 9/11

Millenials: The American Dream is on fumes and is on the edge of dying.
Patriotism is in the minority. The last generation that remembers a time before the internet swept everything. Skeptical of entrenched power, but still somewhat reverant of it given that's what they grew up on. The financial collapse that occured right around when they would enter the work force rocked there sense of security, and the culture war shit that would follow further disillusions them. Influenced heavily by 9/11, 2008 Housing Crisis, Occupy Wallstreet

Zoomers: The American Dream is Gay and Dead.
Patrotism is almost completely dead. Mass nihilism mixed with a renewed religious fervor on the fringes. Literally born on the Internet, and as a result the most brainrotted. Post-Post Irony, mass psychosis and mass hysteria surrounding innumerable societal wedge issues has created a generation of the most drugged out, checked out, nihilistic and depressed sad sacks ever.
Influenced heavily by Trump 2016, The Culture War that followed, The Coof 2020 and The Summer of Love 2020

Alpha: ???
Who knows but hopefully better than the Zoomie Zooms

I greatly pity Gen-Z and hope they make it out okay. Millennials as much as we incessantly bitch and moan about getting a raw deal, we at least we had a small taste of the American Dream before it completely imploded. 9/11 alone was a massive seismic shift in culture, and the fact most Zoomie Zooms don't even remember a Pre-9/11 world is deeply depressing to me.

Zoomers need to be painstakingly drawn out of this defeatist shell, and it's hard to mentor them or get them to put in effort towards advancement because caring about work is also seen as 'lame' somehow. But at the same time the individualism is admirable on a macro scale because they often will put in the effort if it's their own business/side hustle.
This is a really good explanation of some of the potentially positive (if occasionally difficult) traits I've encountered with their generation.

I agree with all the statements in the thread about zoomers being more depressed and nihilistic on average, but most of the ones I've interacted with have also been very kind and hard-working.

Unfortunately, that seems to stem from having to grow up faster due to a higher percentage of their parents being useless, melodramatic fuck-ups. Despite the stereotypes about TikTok, most of the people I've seen get absolutely wrecked IRL by social media propaganda are millennials.
