what are some good games for the atari 2600?

There's nothing worth playing these days, but if you're just interested out of curiosity, then you can check out Donkey Kong and Pitfall, they're not entirely unplayable.

I honestly think the Smurf game is better than Pitfall. That's how retarded I am.

My favorites are Defender, Amidar, Galaxian (prefer it to Galaga), Asteroids, Space Invaders, Turmoil and Jungle Hunt. The Atari versions of Ms. Pac-Man and Mario Bros. are surprisingly solid too.

Crystal castles, and missile command are my favourites.

edit i'm retarded tempest wasn't on 2600 unless it was and i'm double retarded

They're the most simplistic games ever manufactured. Release them today and reviewers will call them shit. It's so easy to make a game that the market was flooded by shovelware bootleg games.

I do remember playing some 2600 games. Yars Revenge and Adventure being best examples. They are actually pretty ambitious titles for the system.
