What are the implications of a Winner rating on an Informative post

Both are positive ratings, but Winner is more for posts that are witty quips, while Informative is a good indication that the poster has uncovered some genuinely insightful information. Does rating them Winner in inappropriate settings take away the acknowledgement of their skill at finding useful information?

Oh yes, for that specific moment in time. But what about in the grand scheme of things? You're giving them one less overall Informative rating on their profile. I can totally see rating Winner in the heat of the moment, I do it all the time. But what about in general? That's the question here.

Ratings are based on emotions.

An informative post is just that, I learned something. Could be useful details to understanding a cow or some news story or just something about the poster.

The use of Winner is for bombshell information or the uncovering of unimaginably retarded information that's hilarious. It's also functions as a funny rating and as a trophy for a great post, although likes serve the latter role better.
