What are similarities and differencies between BIID and trannies?

1. You can become an amputee if you tried hard enough but you can never become a woman if you were born male.

With one of them a doctor will never recommend you to chop of a limb, and will send you forcfully into psychiatric hold if you indicate that you will try, and with the other, the doctor will send you to a surgeon who will turn your sexual organs into a horrible wound, and you will get support form politicians, media and NGOs for doing that.

Similarities:
> Mental illness
> Doctors willing to entertain your delusions by butchering you because it is profitable

Differences:
Not many, honestly.
> One is celebrated by society, and the other will probably soon follow thanks to the slippery slope of identity politics

It's like asking what the difference is between a broken arm and a broken leg. They're different but not fun fundamentally so.

With trannies they go beyond just physical body modification and try to modify their behavior to mimic the opposite sex. That part is all that's missing from BIID, but in a sense it's still there too, but unlike a tranny they can achieve their goal, whereas trannies must pretend to be a different sex. With BIID they don't have to pretend they're disabled, they've truly achieved their goal of rendering themselves disabled (if allowed).

Tldr; no meaningful differences.

Edit: Sloppy posting

Similarities:
  • Both cause feelings of dysphoria in those affected.
  • Both can lead to further mental problems due to the dysphoria they cause (depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, etc.)
  • Both have to do with the body in one way or another.
Differences:
  • Transgender has to do with gender (duh!) While BIID has to do with feeling dysphoric about the presence of a limb, sense, ability, etc.
Because they are very similar in nature (feeling a need to have a different body than what the person has currently, feelings of dysphoria, etc.), the BIID community has been clamoring to get a similar treatment path that transgender people get. However, due to the fact that letting someone with BIID "transition" to their desired body can lead to physical disability, it's pretty obvious that you'd get a stern "NO" from a surgeon if you asked to remove a limb/body part, because doctors have to abide by the Hippocratic Oath.

(Apologies for necro-ing, just had to put in my 2 cents on this.)

BIID is incredibly rare because it’s victims are not feted, celebrated and publicly fellated by the progressive left.
That’s literally the only difference. They‘re both the product of disordered thinking, but troonism’s more likely to be claimed by someone seeking special snowflake points.

It is.
When you incentivize something, you get more of it.
Transgenderism is pretty much the only condition for which surgery is approved, that can be self-diagnosed by the patient.

The fact that it’s a massively over-diagnosed condition is seen in the fact that many people who actually get the surgery find that it doesn‘t make them any happier.

Its high level of self-diagnosis in individuals with other issues such as narcissistic, histrionic and depressive traits should absolutely trigger suspicion.

Anyone encouraging teens (who are notoriously bad at dealing with many issues) to consider transgenderism as a possible root cause of the usual teen angst and malaise is a child abuser, period.
