For me, it's Yume Nikki and Hatoful Boyfriend. And being the oddball that I am, they happen to be my two favorite video games as well! ;)

I think you kinda killed your own thread right there because there ain't nothing that's gonna top that one!

So are you saying that dating birds can't top muscular men who fly around shooting things?
Tell me if this pic ain't weird compared to dating birds.

Naw, I'd just like to know what other weird games are out there so I can go and play them! I know of LSDream Emulator, but that game is apparently pretty hard to find...

I found the ROM for it here:
http://www.emuparadise.me/Sony_Playstation_ISOs/LSD_-_Dream_Emulator_(Japan)/53550
(it's a safe bet it'll be in Japanese though) if you don't mind playing it on your PC!

Vinny the Voles Existential Nightmare.

Oh, and there's also Katamari Damacy. But I gravitate towards indie weird games, ones that no one's ever heard of. :geek:

:heart-full: Hatoful Boyfriend holds a special place in my heart since I've always loved birds/ornithology. (this explains my bird-themed username/avatar/signature)

Super Mario brothers. The everything is watching you with beady little soulless black eyes in that game.

POSTAL 2, Saints Row: The Third, and Duke Carribean: Life's a Beach/Duke Nukem: Nuclear Winter.
But the weirdest stuff is the obscure stuff. I've also played Blues Brothers 2000, Tea Four Dress Too, Dynamite Headdy, and I'm probably forgetting some.
EDIT: Oh, and Pumkin(sic) World.

Nikujin. Naked ninja runs around killing naked people.

Also, Eversion.

Oh, and Mourning Dove, I found another obscure Asian game you might enjoy: White Day!
It was apparently so scary the developers released several patches to make it less scary, but it was never released outside of Korea.

Motoko Chan no Wonder Kitchen. It wasn't released in normal stores, you got it at supermarkets, either for free with purchase of Ajinomoto brand mayonnaise, or really cheap. With purchase of Ajinomoto brand mayonnaise. Because Japan is fucking obsessed with mayo. Kraft is probably still kicking themselves for not monopolizing the market over there.

I had to try it out as soon as I heard about it, because the entire point of this game is to encourage your little girl to cook with mayo. Ajinomoto brand mayo to be precise. I can't read Japanese so I have no idea what the fuck anybody says, but I think it's along the lines of how this brand of mayo is healthy and won't turn you into a fatass (so you'll keep your cute lil figure while you cook mayo-infused meals for your husband like a good waifu) while claiming Ajinomoto brand is preferred throughout the country (no idea if this was true), plus a few other random mayo facts. I'm just guessing based on the pictures and how after the meals they give some sort of statistic about the food.

I suppose these are real recipes you can actually make, but only the first one (a fruit salad) has been confirmed by my fiance to be an actual fruit salad. The other meals are tomatoes stuffed with mushrooms, corn, lettuce and fish, and some sort of egg dish that's basically a veggie omelette that hasn't been folded (I guess). Actually, preparing the meals is hard if you don't know what to do and can't read Japanese. Oh well. There's basically nothing else to the game except find the ingredients, watch the characters talk about mayonnaise, and cook.

tl;dr Motoko Chan no Wonder Kitchen. You learn how to cook with mayonnaise.

Here's another weird indie game, though I've only seen Let's Plays of it and have not played it myself: NothingElse. From the little I understand of it it's kind of a surreal mindfuck of a game.

From the same indie game developer there's the short horror game Imscared, but at least that game has a tangible plot.

the parodius series.

Seconded. Odd to think that I played that stuff all the time when I was a kid without even a second thought about how strange it was.

Flying space penguins shooting air-rifles at Easter Island heads? Yeah, we'll go with that.

I'm going to have to go with Mr. Mosquito. You run around tormenting the same family for the entire game by biting them and sucking their blood.

Then there's Incredible Crisis, which is a series of button mashing minigames. Basically, you take the role of a Japanese family who's having the worst day ever. The first few levels put you in the shoes of the father, who has to do cardio with his office workers, then gets trapped in a falling elevator, and then is chased out of his office building by a giant, rolling globe.

Impossible Creatures.

Mix three of the most controversial subjects in the world together! Zoological Warfare, Genetic Modification, and Cloning and you've got a bizarre RTS that should have gotten better reception.
