What are the Worst Casting Decisions that have ever been made?

The actress who played the sister in the movie Boyhood. She doesn’t look like the biological sister of protagonist. But she was still casted due to nepotism because she is the daughter of the director.

All black people in any role ever apparently?

A Phantom of the Opera shirt? Black people are surprisingly cultured.

This fucking atrocity. If a fictional character's ethnicity is not a vital part of that character's story and motivations then idgaf what race plays them. However, when you are portraying an actual real historic character, this shit does not fly. Cast a white dude as MLK and see how far you get with that. Cunts.

1. Amy Schumer in basically everything
2. Melissa McCarthy in everything
I'd like to know how these ladies still have careers when they swim in mediocrity and have done so for years.
9. Jesse Eisenberg in everything
But you gotta admit he plays a perfect autistic, robotic Mark Zuckerberg

If you really wanna do a stretch, you could call it alternative history. I'm almost sad that they didn't do that and got ripped to pieces for that shit excuse.

You know, on second thought, I'm glad that they didn't pull that because that would be a great insult to alternatives history classics.

Spike is 27 in the anime. John Cho is 50. He was too old for a lot of what he was doing and saying. Destroying his knee on the first kick was a good indicator that he is too old.

The disparity between Spike and Faye was too much: it looked like Spike was babysitting his grandkid. Including Ed was a mistake unless they had hired an actual child to play her, which would have made John seem even older.

I've read previously that he was a major driver in the show being made in the first place. Bit of a passion project for him. If the writers had brought 1/10 of the passion he did to the project it might have worked. Whoever okayed those costumes should be fired and replaced with cosplayers since they usually get the outfits right.

Women in action movies if cast as badass action heroes who can physically overpower men. I don't want to see a "Ruby Rose" beating up dozens of Dwayne Johnsons in a fist fight. Notable entry is that latina woman who was in Lost (Michelle Rodriguez I think?) who has been playing the exact same character in every movie for decades.

Ugly women in movies. Especially ugly ethnic women. Worst case scenario being old ugly ethnic women. Great example is the recent Batman movie. The fact that we went from Michelle Pfeiffer to a 33 years old half jew half nigger ugly pale mongrel who can't act is a sign of a great cultural decline.

They just keep making the women in movies older and older. John Wick 3 had an almost 60 year old black woman cast as a badass action hero. I think the worst case so far has been one of the last terminator movies, when they have exhumed the almost 70 years old Linda Hamilton from her grave and made her geriatrically run around with a gun. This is elderly abuse and I don't want to see it

I’m surprised it’s a passion project for John Cho given how in the show itself he sounded incredibly bored and was just wanting to get his paycheck in every scene.

Also god every casting decision except for Jet was horrible in the show since the acting was horrible for basically everyone else. Though with Ed they are played by a young teenager and that was their first acting role and I feel bad for them in that case.

He was going for 'cool' and ended up somewhere in 'murder hobo.'

I thought her dogs were badass, but didn't like the backwash water scene.

To their credit, the actors were up-front about it falling into tired old tropes:
HAMILTON: "Of course, it’s the studios that put hundreds of millions of dollars into a film, but it’s just a fickle world in terms of fandom, and maybe they were just worn out by the Terminators that preceded. I don't have any desire to return....Only if there’s something really viable in the script and story and characters, would I ever consider doing it again. Otherwise, it's just diminishing returns, isn’t it?”
DAVIS: “As far as the box office and stuff, you know, it’s Terminator 6. Nobody saw the last three. I get it. It’s okay. I don’t think that means what we made was bad, but I understand that the audience’s appetite had been exhausted.”

Because they'll throw every -ism, -phobe and -ist at you they can find if you dare to criticise them.

Still not sure if he didn't just play himself.

Isn't Guinevere supposed to be beautiful? It's like they picked some dowdy hotel maid to play her. They couldn't even diversity cast a reasonably attractive woman?

I think they mixed up Memnon with Achilles. Memnon is often refered to as dark skinned or bronzed and in hails from Aethiopia, which is not quite the same as the location of modern Ethiopia but is still in Sun-Saharan Africa and south of Egypt.

Probably shouldn't have been cast if she couldn't deliver the lines. Every time she's opened her mouth on-camera, it's failed miserably. 'Smirking' and 'has tattoos' is not acting.

Going with Ruby Rose showed they didn't GAF about the character's mythology. It was clear from the starting pistol that they were going for a 70's afternoon soap opera.

All of those injuries, and it results in a below-average show with laughable production values, just like every other CW show. A bunch of crew members were rejoicing on Twitter when she got fired.

Emily Blunt in Sicario. Replace her with literally anyone and nothing would change in the film. I may be biased, but she's not really a good actress and not as hot as people make her out to be
Agree BUT she was great in Mary Poppins Returns. Speaking of which, Lin-Manuel Miranda was ridiculous as a Cockney chimney sweep. Just fucking retarded casting there.

James Spader Monologues (Unnecessary Pauses Included) The Blacklist

I think they were trying to invent another "Bones." They took one look at her facial structure and thought of Temperance Brennan from the Bones tv show. They probably thought the look would make the character but it failed.

Worst FBI profiler on a show ever. Makes the show harder to watch with her constant ineptitude. The actress is a one-dimensional hack. An unknown wants Spader pay?
"I have more experience than most of the actors in the world, now that I've done this show. If I, like, could count up all the hours I've acted over the last two years, it's probably more than 99 percent of working actors have in a lifetime."
Her open accusations of unfair pay, misogyny, working harder than the other staff, yet she took 9 weeks off mid-season:
...W/o my tireless work (3x of any performer) TBL couldn't get made. – Megan Boone (@MeganBoone) June 23, 2017
Looking at her iMDB, it's kinda grim. Oh well, she's off to be an "environmental activist," whatever that is.

Michelle Pfeiffer set a bar too high for any upcoming live action Catwoman, tbh. You're forgetting we already had one for Bale Batman and she was terrible. To make the post in context, Anne Hattaway was a very bad casting decision for the role. The girl they got for Gothan was much, much better, if only because she seemed like they cloned Pfeiffer.

Michael Cera in Scott Pilgrim vs the World. I've read the graphic novels but haven't seen the movie for basically this reason alone. Sorry man, but you don't get to make your nut off playing the most innocent naive wholesome characters ever then go right into playing someone as scummy as Scott Pilgrim was in the novels. Plus he was absolutely saturated by that time, to the point I remember just about everybody I knew at the time was groaning at seeing his dopey-ass mug yet again.

That entire movie had shitty CGI too. People complain about Green Lantern CGI, but Scott Pilgrim's was a great deal worse.
