I swear I remember reading somewhere that the current tumblrina artist actually drove the previous (far better) artists off that somehow, or got them fired so she could take it over herself.
A tumblrina driving out "problematic" people and replacing them with their friends? Nah, that's totally implausible

Is that thing a fan character? Because I notice that heterochromia is a thing every Fan OC keeps on doing (if they aren't relying on the furry sub-trope, that is).

Seriously though any character with heterochromia looks like fuckin shit. Including CWC.
And it's not just bad on a design standpoint, multicolored eyes like that can easily pose problems if you can't remember which eye is which color. Though that also begs the question @atm- are you also against real-life people (as few as there are) that have this condition too?

Instead of choosing a specific design, I'd like to give some honorable mentions to fan-made Super Saiyan forms in general (save for a few exceptions). People like to criticize Dragon Ball Super's new god forms as lazy or unimaginative, but I for one can dig the more simplistic designs instead of just throwing in more muscles\hair\fur\tribal tattoos\various atavistic body parts. Personally I was relieved that Super Saiyan God wasn't just SS4 with golden hair and fur, which was what a lot of fans were clamoring for.

Most everyone in Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time looks BAD.
The older games had a bit of a classic comic book/noir kind of influence with their art style. Here it seems crude and doesn't seem to follow any particular direction other than looking cartooney.

People want overdesigned bullshit like Super Saiyan 4 but then fail to realize the only reason Super Saiyan was blonde is because Toriyama wanted to give his assistant a break and have to black in less things in the manga. Simplicity has always been his thing, it's what makes his designs stand out.

I've been meaning to write about this for a while now...
Tl;dr a scammy Orthodox Christian foundation wanted to make a cartoon to launder money teach kids Good Christian Values, and gave the job to a studio with no prior experience in CGI animation. They made an awful CGI flick featuring:
1) Good Christian kids from Suvorov military school vs evil Satanist wizards from not-Hogwarts
2) Orthodox Christianity as a literal special power that helps to fight evil
3) Lispy racist caricatures of non-Christians
4) Great Harry the Tranny Wizard
5) Kosovo war
6) PATRIOTISM

Theres a story behind that. Theres a good amount of evidence that Necron was supposed to be the superboss instead of Hades and Hades was originally designed to be the final boss. Hades himself has eye motifs and the arena the final battle takes place in has similar eye motifs. Said eye motifs can also be found throughout a game like he is watching the events taking place and would have at least given some indication he existed. Theres also artwork of the final battle arena having Hades sketched in. Another one is that Necron resembles Necrophobe from FF5 who is an optional boss and reveals a save point when defeated like Hades does in FF9. If Hades and Necron switched it would have been Necron as the optional boss revealing a save point.
Necron has a pretty gaudy design.
Have any other kiwis figured out how this guy even fits into the game? I have theories because it isn't completely obvious.
There s similar looking chick in Killing Floor 2 but she fits and has a good voice actor.Payday has some pretty decent character design when it comes to either grounded or borrowed characters. The original gang looks great, basic unassuming guys who can't be ID'd easy holds up to scrutiny, Even borrowing John Wick, Jimmy, Bodhi and the like from different movies stays in the realm. Even jacket from Hotline keeps witht he theme.
But Sydney, fuck what a goddamed mess.
Lets take this Aussie broad, cover her in nonsense tattoos, giver her danger hair and rolled up sleeves as well as a super recognizable accent and throw her in for people who want "Mah Waifu"
The other female characters at least made sense. An ugly broad that looks like Jabba fucked a dump truck and the Irish chick with no identifying anything. But Live Journal Lisa over here screams "My tumblr girlfriend wants to be a pretty lady"

Heterochromia shouldn't be given to characters without a good reason. My standards for a good reason are rather loose though
