Yeah, aside from the bright red hair clashing horribly with the dark skin, it’s merely kind of generic-looking. If all it takes to fix a design is some light color correction, then it’s not THAT bad.

Yeah, that was my reaction. I never understood why they felt the need to give Akuma a lion's-mane hairdo.
Thankfully, he's got a 'classic' outfit option that switches it back to his normal topknot.

While I'm not a fan, I will say Phineas and Ferb has a decent, completely inoffensive style.

I forgot to mention this on my comment about the female Gormiti that also found hilariously bad about her design: She had a lot of feminine features like an hourglass shape, breast and a fairly attractive human face but then the character designer covered her legs with these frilled feathers making her look like she has hairy legs. Also clawed bird feet but butterfly wings,
... What a visual wreck.

God, those are bad. If you want to see some really fucking great translations of cartoon characters into live action, look no further than the Spongebob musical, of all things:
They really managed to evoke the feel of the characters with the casting and costume design by just taking design inspiration from the original models instead of trying to translate any of it literally. They could’ve easily given Plankton antennae, or had Patrick wear his classic pants, but they didn’t, and the designs are a lot better for it.

if you ever played warframe you will notice that pretty much every crewman encounter they are just palate swap at least the grineer faction has variety

If by "multimedia" you mean "over 100 years worth of advertising" and assuming that redesigns are fair game, the worst character redesign of all time would have to be Bibendum. Or, as non-autists know him, the Michelin Man. His early grotesque cigar-chomping incarnation is nightmare fuel and pretty badass.
He then became less frightening and considerably more jolly sometime in the mid 20th Century, although he was still pretty awesome. The rot set in during the '90s when he lost a ton of weight. Yeah, I guess some people were worried about Michelin promoting obesity or some shit idk.
Where things really went downhill for the big B is when he went from being an anthropomorphic white turd to Stay Puft's retarded grandson; a point neatly illustrated in this composite image of Bibendum gradually becoming more cucked over the past 70 years or so.

That doesn't make it a bad design, though, and Digital Extremes has been adding more varied Corpus crewman models since the Orb Valis update.

It's probably partially inspired by the fact that it's incredibly easy to find parallels between how land creatures are treated in Bikini Bottom and historical anti-black racism. Hateful jokes are common, land creatures are regularly regarded as idiotic, and Sandy has at least once been arrested for doing something half of the city does ("public nudity", or rather running around in her underwear while furless). It does partially go against her depiction as a very Texan cowgirl type, though.

Might not be as bad as some other characters posted here, but the main villain (left) for Gundam narrative made me pass on watch the series. He just looks way too like "my first edgy oc" for my tastes. What makes it worse is that the series it connects to Gundam Unicorn had a much better design (right) not only in looks but in clothes.
Narrative also featured the godawful looking Phenex suit which looks plain bad next to the two early suits in the production line: Unicorn (Top), Banshee (Middle), Phenex (Bottom [Couldn't find a good image of its destroy mode in the anime so enjoy one of the model kits])

Somebody might as well have put Avery in MMD. But how weird MMD characters are with their weird anatomy, but the fan models I’ve seen are just “baby’s first anime OC” or something like that.

tl;dr bc i sound like a f*cking wikipedia article: they're from a reboot of an obscure european cartoon i love but it's just gonna be a bootleg big mouth.
even though i dig the art style (because it has an asthetic of "school desk scribbles" that i'm really fond of, it's really cute and charming, as well as simplistic), these new characters are practically decent at best, but oh, so ugly at worst. let's start with these two:
these two are mashlnah and konyetchko's girlfriends, respectively. the problem with them is that they look as if they were copy pasted from each other. like, skirts and all. sure they have some differences (the girl on the left is more sporty, punky and tomboyish while the other is more casual and girly, sporting a bow on her head), but that's it. just two barbie lookin ass daphne blakes.
now let's look at the lesbians (who i think is their moms). the femme mom has a dreamworks face and the butch is just the most ugliest f*cking thing my eyes have ever laid upon. jesus christ. she deadass looks like the flower from the rubber band movie:
and that guy's supposed to be zayko's dad. frankly, i don't see it. unless he's adopted, i'm not buying the fact that this guy is supposed to be his father. he looks way too much like a vietnam war vet lanky kong. yes, i've pictured it, i've seen it, and i regret it:

the show is known for being too similar to south park, to the point where it's referred to as a knockoff. it's honestly more of a shitpost show you could watch when you're high or drunk, as its tone is more goofier, laid-back and way less serious than south park.

I don't hate it though, and the fro creates a shape reminiscent of her helmet (as they no doubt intended). And as you said, Sandy is a minority in Bikini Bottom so really, it works.
