Since tomorrow is Ash Wednesday (aka the start of Lent), I'm curious to know what kiwis will be giving up for Lent this year. A lot of people give up things for Lent even if they're not religious, so don't feel discouraged by that.

I think I'm gonna try to stop swearing for Lent, idk.

Alternatively, some people take up new and enriching things in their lives during Lent to complement what they've given up.

What say you, kiwis? What are you giving up for the next 40 days?

Nothing. But I'll get some of those fish sandwiches that go on the menu at all the fast food places at some point.

I was thinking about giving up coffee if I really wanted to challenge myself I usually try to do something small but meaningfull at least in the context thay it gives me displeasure, and we all know catholics are all about torturing yourself in the name of god.

Not Catholic, but I could stand to drop some pounds. I guess I'll give up eating meat while the sun is up. (still gotta cook dinner, and meatless will Not Go Over Well with the spouse)

I've been a shitty Catholic for the past five years (meaning, I haven't even bothered with giving things up for Lent for the past five years) so I'm probably only gonna do the whole "no meat on Fridays" thing. Actually, I always end up breaking my Lenten promises (because I am weak) so I'd rather just not bother in the first place, haha.
