I also get to clock the overtime and holiday pay today. Is it more American that my job doesn't really involve much of any actual work? (I do still hate it. It looks like it's going to POUR by me, so I don't think anyone is doing any BBQ-ing anytime soon. So instead I'm chilling home adding music to my new MP3 player I got, which is minimalist in the most basic and literal sense. Shit is tiny as fuck, and it plays MP3's on miniSD cards with no other bloat or unnecessary features (like FM Radio... which every other MP3 player seems to have shoved in them these days).

Only quirk I've come across is that it doesn't play the songs in ABC order, but by when you first placed them on the SD card... and you can't change the order on the MP3 player itself, which is gay. It also doesn't have shuffle playback, but both those things aren't really big issues I can't overcome.

Going to watch the neighborhood fireworks show down near the capitol in a neighborhood in the burbs that is a pocket of unincorporated county and thus fireworks are completely legal to shoot off.

It often sounds like a recreation of Black Hawk Down, it smells like gunpowder for hours, and occasionally you have to jump out of the way of a mortar that gets knocked over by a neighboring launch, so it's perfect.
