What are you playing right now?

Picked up Dragon Age: Inquisition at GameStop yesterday. Really enjoying it so far, even if I did nearly get owned by a herd of bison.

Super Danganronpa 2. It's fun trying to solve the cases even though I tend to do really so-so during the trials. And almost all of my favorite characters have died so far. (:_(

I was playing Doodle God. It was fun at first, but lost its charm after a while. This player review captures my feelings...
It's an interesting game. Clever, original with a little bit of humor (e.g. human + energy = wizard :). Nevertheless it's not so much fun. Many of the elements you can figure out but most of them are a result of guessing from a player's point of view. When there is still a few dozen elements you can memorise them and try to guess the connections but after the 60-70 (there are almost 250 to uncover) you are mainly trying few options and then waiting for a hint... Fun for a while

SoniComi or Communication with Sonico. I played the untranslated version and it's very refreshing playing it translated. It's really cute and pretty simple once you know how to play it.

McDunalds Prim Federashin Farce

(it really doesn't help that one of the Amiibo skins is literally a skealtin #TYCED )

Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward.

I got stuck on a puzzle in the very first room of the game. That's doesn't bode well for me...

I haven't really played much recently, but my main games are The Sims 3 and Pokemon (particularly Heart Gold and Alpha Sapphire).
I'm really excited for Pokemon Moon so I think I'll ask for that for Christmas to save myself $40.
I really love The Sims but, as most people who play that game know, you can play obsessively for a month or two and then leave it along for even longer. I'll get back into it eventually. Main problem is that I have too many "stories" I want to play and can't pick one.

Halo 5 kind of came out for PC so I'm a very, very, very happy guy right now. I haven't played a real Halo game since 2010 or 2011. The new additions to game aren't exactly fantastic (thruster shit is kind of lame, there's really no point in ADS, sprint is really lame, everything kind of feels overdesigned) but it's just amazing to be able to play Halo again without having to shell out 300 bucks. Forge is also godly now and because of this, custom games feels really godly. I've played about 5 classic Halo map recreations and while they're visually nothing special, they feel just like the original maps they're based off of and it's fucking spectacular. Never used to be able to build stuff like you can in Halo 5, it's probably the most interesting part of the game.

More King's Field 2.

I think I'm heading towards the climax of the game. I got the full version of the Ichirus Key so I can warp to any area I want. Yay.

So far, the game has been quite a ride. Maybe because so far the story in this one feels more emotionally investing than the other King's Field games. There's something a bit sad about being a character who has been raised and trained to one day kill his own father. (Who was the protagonist in the very first King's Field game I believe.)

What made me even sadder was the whole thing with Lyn. She was probably one of the few characters I've met in a King's Field game, or even any FromSoft game I played, that had a personal history and attachment to the MC. Everyone else I've encountered in a FromSoft game I felt I was simply a witness to their actions, their development, and usually to their demise. Which isn't a knock against FromSoft, that was just how their games were.

So after talking with her in the snow area, going back to her house, and picking up her staff. I returned to find the snow monsters replaced by those lizard monsters mentioned earlier. Realizing what this could possibly mean, I ran back to the house she was in and found a note from her that said she went to the Garan area to find her father and find me the Ichirus Crown.

I went into the Garan area, slaughtering any enemy that stood in my way. Only to find Lyn lying dead outside a cave. Part of me knew something like this was going to happen, as FromSoft isn't afraid to kill off characters you grow to like. (Solaire and Siegmeyer for example) But I guess I really got into the role as Prince Lyle as I was saddened to see her dead. I got angry and took it out on the lizard monsters in the cave. I got the crown she was after and felt even worse about the whole thing.

Later on, while I was waiting for Leon to piece together the Ichirus Key, I talked to one of the NPC's in town. He talked about how as a kid, the MC talked about how he was going to marry Lyn when they got older, which put me on the verge of tears.

At that point, all I could do in her memory was to kill the King and bring peace back to Verdite. Hopefully the ring she left behind will help.

So yeah, this whole thing is kind of a testament to how well FromSoft handles its story telling, characters, and world building. Maybe because she was a childhood friend, maybe because she was one of the only people who saw you as more than just the guy who's supposed to save everyone, maybe it's because I'm able to project some of my personality onto my character and make the journey feel more personal, but the whole thing with Lyn felt genuine and is making my experience with this game that much more enjoyable.

I WANT to restore Verdite now. I WANT to knock the King down a peg. When a game actually gets me to care that much about what's going on, I feel it has succeeded in a big way for me.

Been trying to get back into Phantom Pain. At this point, I still find the total stealth missions to be complete BS. I will admit, I could pretty much be like DSP in complaining about these missions and screwing up but even then, I just don't like how they're recycled. These would of been fitting as extra ops but for whatever reason, Konami or Kojima thought "let's recycle this as a story mission". For all the BS Peace Walker had in damage sponge tanks, at least fighting a tank or APC again in the same area with the same dialogue was marked as extra ops rather than as a story mission.

been having mighty fun time going though the first two bioshock games. its nice to take a trip down to Rapture after it seems to all but forgotten.

I decided to go through Watch Dogs again to get ready for the sequel, and I'm having a lot of fun. It has its flaws, but the setting, gunplay, stealth, hacking (I love using cameras to get the drop on enemies), and most of the side activities (fuck the drinking minigame) make up for them. I think WD is a much better start to a series than the original Assassin's Creed was, and I'm looking forward to Watch Dogs 2.

Sengoku Basara 4 Sumeragi.

Got back to playing it. Kind of playing KoF 14 as well.

It's nice to see people enjoying a game for what it is and looking past the hype train and disappointment that caused.

Cake Mania: Lights, Camera, Action! (I think I'm the only one here who plays casual games.)

I got Dragon Age: Inquisition last week. My productivity only went down from there.
