What are you playing right now?

Welp, I've been cursed. I know you can get rid of it with a Purging Stone, which is sold by both Oswald and the Undead Female Merchant, but apparently the latter only sells it in a patch. Please tell me this isn't the same case with Oswald. Otherwise, I think I'm screwed.

Just got Lightning Returns Final Fantasy XIII. I'm a few hours in, and I'm rather enjoying myself. I'm up to the Shadow Hunter boss fight, if anyone's curious.
Are you playing on easy or normal? How's the time constraint working out for you? And is
Noel
the first "main" boss you're facing?

Oswald sells cheap Purging Stones. Always a good idea to have a spare one on hand.

I'm playing on Normal, which was a bit harder than I expected, but it's not too much of a problem. I actually like the time constraints, although I once wasted about four hours getting stuck in the Warren before I found the ladder out.

Noel is the first major boss I fought. He was tougher than I was expecting; it took me several tries to win.

^I initially began on normal, but found it way too stressful, so I restarted on easy. The time penalty for losing a fight is ridiculous. Remember, Chronostasis is your friend. Abuse it.

Really? I beat him on my first try. Then again, he was the second major boss for me, so I had a bit more experience. If you think he's hard, you'd better start preparing for the Yusnaan boss, especially since their difficulty spikes on day 6.

Part of the problem I was having was getting used to the control scheme. I kept hitting LB because I thought it was block, then hold up why am I a Knight of Etro aagh I just took a Gale Fang to the face game over. And don't even ask me how many times I accidentally hit the left trigger and wasted 2 EP.

^Yeah, I still get confused from time to time. All the different outfits are cool though, aren't they?

Also: Sprint practically everywhere, and focus on main quests. Main quests earn you Eradia (that stuff you give to the tree) and extend the amount of days you have, while side quests do not.

I finally started on some F:NV DLC. I found out that Muggy from Old world blues is the most amazing character ever.

Also I hit on my brain.

I'm enjoying the outfits. I got the cat-girl outfit from the chocobo girls in Yusnaan, and I'm torn. On the one hand, it's a big upgrade from the outfit I was wearing, on the other hand...it's so, so shameful to look at.

Also, I got through the Yusnaan storyline.
Snow
gave me some trouble, although not as much as the Shadow Hunter. I kept screwing up and getting hit by his stupid counter-attacks, but once I got that down he went down easily.

I got GTA: San Andreas for the PC at Goodwill for $4.38

It installed, even windows seven liked it (it had to go to simple colors mode)

I played it and liked it, bustin caps and wildin out on niggas

Until I got to the forklift level, If I wanted to drive a forklift, I'd play Shenmue for the Dreamcast

Ah, so that's how you get the cat girl one. Not exactly interested myself, lol.

That's so funny, it was the complete opposite for me. But yeah, his counter attacks suck.

It's a good outfit. It comes with max level Mediguard and Magic Strike, and Lightning's reaction to getting it is pretty funny.

Now, I'm running around in the Wildlands. I like the time-limit mechanic, but I wish it gave you a little more time to explore.

^There are two major quests in the Wildlands. You should start with finding the Angel of Valhalla if you haven't already.

Chronostasis can help a bit with exploring, but yeah, it is annoying.

Started a new game on Skyrim.
I made my character look like Sean Connery in the 60's.

Just finished "The Stick of Truth" today. Finally a South Park game that fans can really get behind.

The only downside to it was that it was too short but you have to give props to a game that actually has "Jew" as a character class.

Starting to play some older titles right now. Getting into Persona 4 and got past that godawful intro part and just now meeting Kanji. No idea how far I'm into this game yet, which is fine.

Also recently played through the latest Bioshock DLC and the latest Fables episode. Excellent both. Bioshock especially since it also covers things from the first Bioshock, which was my introduction to games not on a Nintendo console (used to be a Nintendo diehard). And it felt like "coming home" of sorts.

Also, been spending a fuckton of time with Sanctum 2 on my 360. Really, really, really fun tower defense/ FPS hybrid game. Something sublimely wonderful about funneling aliens through deathtraps and taking potshots at the stragglers as they limp out to get ya.

I've been playing around with some mods for Civ 4. Played with some additional civilization mods (Byzantium, the Netherlands, Iroquois).

I'm continuing my first-ever playthrough of Max Payne, which has in turn led to me playing through Max Payne 3 again. God, these games are amazing, and violent for that matter. Also, may I never hear TEARS in an airport setting, otherwise I may go mental.

I need to get back into Dark Souls. Any suggestions for taking out the Capra Demon?

I just bought Retro City Rampage. It's absolutely hilarious. Though it's so crazy that it feels less like I'm playing GTA 1 on NES and more like Saints Row on NES.

For Capra Demon, I suggest you could run to the stairs (be sure to dodge the demon and his dogs), have the dogs rush to you and kill them. At the top of the stairs, you can move on a ledge to get further away from him and/or the dogs as needed. Other than that, just remember to do the usual dodge and/or blocking when he attacks.

Мetal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
Looks pretty good so far. I'm a PC guy who has never got any consoles, I've never played any Мetal Gear games before, so the plot with its throwbacks to previous games is a bit confusing for me.
I think I will have my mouse broken by the time I complete the game, though.

Counter-Strike 1.6. I took my time to learn what all those weird settings like "rate", "cmdrate", "updaterate", "interp", etc. actually do and which settings are optimal and why people do stuff like setting their max fps to 99.5.

You know, I used to be pretty darn decent at CS when I was younger. I thought my quick reflexes were gone forever because of me getting older and messing my brain up with drugs and alcohol. But lo and behold, I've played for about 3 hours today, and kept dominating the scoreboards all throughout. The game runs smooth as silk and the enemy placement on my screen pretty much corresponds with where they really are, instead of where they were half a second ago. Even the recoil feels smaller because of the overall latency improvement. It's incredible.

Also FTL Advanced Edition. It's fun. I'm going to make a fan translation one day so that more people can enjoy the game. In fact, I'm already doing it.
