What are you playing right now?

Would you say to completely steer away from Far Cry 6, or is it still enjoyable enough as a mindless activity for an hour or two after work?
You can play FC6 if you want, but you will have to tolerate the insanely cringe leaders of the resistance. FC6 is also a downgrade in terms of gameplay, you can't have 2 AI teammates anymore, only one animal.
I agree with you on the lack of colors in FC5, that's one thing New Dawn did right.

Just finished Stray and it was pretty fucking cute. It seems a bit too short to justify the $30 price tag on launch but my wallet isn't too upset by it. Now I'm playing MHW (and having to learn pretty quick how to actuallg git gud now that I'm on the High Rank parts of the game) and replaying P4 Golden.

monster hunter world. its my first experience with the monster hunter series and i have to say, im enjoying myself. was a bit hard to get into when the gameplay is so clunky (i know it was by design) but once everything clicks, its pretty addicting. alot of times, i dont even do the main story missions and just hunt big monsters to improve my gear.

Taking a break from eve online to replay breath of the wild. I'm playing on yuzu the switch emulator on slackware and it works flawlessly. Last couple times I played BoTW it was on cemu the wii u version, I feel like yuzu looks better. So far I've racked up like 20 hours and it's been flawless at 4k 60fps.

I bought Endzone - A World Apart like 2 months ago and forgot about it and decided to give it a try last night. It's neat. It's a post-apocalyptic city builder that takes very clear influence from Banished and I can see myself getting a couple dozen hours out of it easily. I really only played the tutorial last night and I think for the first time ever in a game had to save my game without finishing the tutorial because it's so long. There are a lot of different jobs, buildings and resources making it more complex than Banished I think as well as rain and radiation mechanics. I like the aesthetic and setting of Banished more, but this game seems promising and is scratching the city builder itch nicely.

I tried Ark Survival Evolved a d it's pretty good.

The start is hard as fuck, enjoy being lunch for any hungry dinosaur on a constant basis but once you get going it gets gud.

What's better then crushing your enemies and seeing them driven before you?

Doing it with dinosaurs! Try out running my T-Rex you filthy casual.

FightCade 2 has been adding a bunch of different hacks to their game list for people to play. One of them being "Streets Of Rage 2 Street Fighter Versions 1 - 4", and surprisingly, they're done semi-well

Version 1 - Dhalsim, Ryu, Guile, Ken
Version 2 - Cammy, DeeJay, ChunLi, FeiLong
Version 3 - Blanka, Honda, Zangief, T.Hawk
Version 4 - Boxer, Dictator, Sagat, Claw

The characters aren't just simple sprite swaps of the OG 4 SOR2 cast, they have their own unique attacks copied from the SF2 games. The reason why I said these hacks are done "semi-well" is because you can clearly tell some characters got more love and attention while others were just an after thought. Characters like FeiLong, Boxer, Dictator, and Cammy are fun as fuck to use. Version 3 however is the weakest version. Some of their special attacks are just normal moves (Zangief's HP, T.Hawk's MK, etc...), which is upsetting for someone like me who mains Zangief and Honda in actual SF2.

Can't seem to find a link for these other than YouTube videos that don't have any sources themselves in the description (and won't even say where they got the rom from in the comments section). May have been just one-and-done hacks, but if not, I'm hoping they get improved upon because there is MAJOR potential in these hacks.

Far cry 5 since it was free on game pass. Surprisingly I I am enjoying it. I’ve always liked the far cry sandbox style. The villain is surprisingly compelling though none will top vass from 3. I like how they got rid of the radio towers in this one it makes it feel much less repetitive. I’m actually enjoying completing side quests as they feel more unique in this one.

Picked up Monster Sanctuary on sale and really enjoying it once I stopped trying to play it by Pokemon rules. The crazy amount of builds and teams is almost overwhelming but also has clear replay potential.

I recently played through the PS1 version of Rampage: World Tour on the PS1. A childhood game that I remember really loving a lot as a kid and I think it still mostly holds up today. Provided you go in with the right mindset.

Somehow, I never knew the game actually started out in the Arcades. I thought that was just the original game. And looking at the different versions of the game, I can confidently say that the PS1 is probably among the weakest, if not the weakest version of the game. The load times as well as the inability to play with three players definitely hinders this version of the game. But I played it by myself via an emulator, so I suppose it doesn't matter too much.

This game was definitely designed to be played with friends. The gameplay itself is very simple and repetitive and levels don't really change all that much from each other. Plus, some of the game's more hidden mechanics were designed specifically to fuck around with other players. Not only can you beat them up, but you can also roar at them to daze them and can even use a block command to use Judo moves on each other. They even give you a scoring bonus if you do so. Probably not a fun experience for certain kids at the arcade who spent their hard earned quarters, but on a console where you have unlimited lives, I can see myself with a couple of friends just shooting the shit while bumbling our way through the game's two-to-three hour run time.

I also like the World Tour mechanic from an Arcade user perspective. It basically makes it so that no two playthroughs are necessarily the same and you can go to certain levels earlier or later than you normally would.

Kenshi. Its amazing what kind of things you can do in this game thanks to mods.

It can either be fallout, harvest moon and an atrocity simulator if you felt like it.

I recently started playing Kenshi and I haven't been so engrossed in exploring such a weird game world since playing Planescape: Torment as a kid. I love how all of the major factions are just hilariously cruel to everyone. So far I've seen:

1. 70 IQ mutants who just want to hit everything and everyone with giant pieces of metal.
2. Literal bugmen who are either high on hash or dying in massive numbers for their queen.
3. Religious fanatic incels who were actually very nice to my human character but permanently enslaved my bugman character so he could work himself to death in a mine and be reincarnated as a better species.
4. Nobility who support diversity and really support chattel slavery.

I read somewhere that majority of the game was written by one guy and it definitely shows in the consistent tone and story that's only conveyed through exploration and background info like books and NPC dialogue.

It gets way better. Try to find a book called the Red Rebellion in the game and try to make friends with the Trader's Guild.

The base game has a shitton of lore if you spend time finding them.

Been using this lull to go through my backlog. Right now racing to get all the trophies in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Revelations, and 3 before their servers go offline (projected Sep. 1). After that, probably do the same for AssCreed 4 before its servers get targeted.

Just completed Power Wash Simulator, only to find that they've added achievements. So I guess I've got to power through it again.

Trying to get into Rimworld again. I have this bad habit of savescumming I'm trying to beat, which really undoes the whole "story generator" aspect of the game. I guess it's just a bit different from something like Dwarf Fortress, where you can get 20 migrants in a single season and it's expected some of them go crazy or fall into lava or eaten by giant spiders. In Rimworld, when one of your 4 colonists shoots a megasloth by accident when aiming at an otter, and then they get their legs torn off for it, it's a lot harsher. I guess I also have to blame myself for adding in the Combat Extended mod, since that ups the lethality a lot.
