What are you playing right now?

I just heard about Void War. Has anyone played it? It's described as FTL meets 40k, which would be perfect for me. I love FTL, one of my favourite games despite it being very simple. I'm in the process of pirating it to see if it's any good before I consider purchasing it.

It looks like a straight up FTL clone, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, if done well.

Was at a barcade playing MKII, weren't you able to run in MKII? All it had was the 4 attacks and block, had a couple drinks and played some Metal Slug until I eventually hit some pinball machines, I have gotten terrible at pinball but I really love pinball and want to get a machine of my own someday.

specifically, the fan translation of the original Saturn version. holy SHIT did Game Arts up their game (hee-hee) between Lunar and this. currently at New Parm now

EDIT: also the soundtrack is literally one banger after another
I've been wanting to do a playthrough of Grandia for the longest time now that I finally have a Steam Deck, only problem is that the first game tends to be very finicky on the Deck if you don't have the right protons installed. I haven't messed with it yet but I'm hoping I can get things working without the cut scenes getting messed up as this is the perfect game to play on a portable system.

Finished the ghost in the shell game for PS2. Working on the campaigns for Dawn of war: Winter assault.

The 4th game is on Steam and definitely worth a play through. Pretty much fixes all of the issues with the first game.
Dug it until the superpower shit came into the missions. I want good ol army vs army, not superhero goddess tank wallabingbang solos 5000 tanks

The game I posted above, Void War is pretty good. Very good actually. If you like FTL, you will like it. Essentially some dude who loved FTL wanted to play more FTL and made his own clone. It's good enough that I deleted my pirated version and bought the alpha.

Also, I've been playing homeworld remastered collection. I heard about homeworld when I was just a small retard on ancient hardware but by time I salvaged enough computer parts to build something that could handle games I got into EvE and there was no reason to touch homeworld. The remastered collection and it's sequels were free on epic store last year so I decided to give them a try. They're all good, I decided to pirate homeworld 3 because of it. It's essentially single player eve online mixed with command and conquer. Fun, and difficult. My only gripe is the ancient control scheme is terrible and outdated. I had to download a couple mods and heavily remap keys to make it more intuitive and snappy.

Would recommend all games mentioned.

I tried that new Lord of the Rings survival crafting game set in Moria. It's shit like all the other surival crafting games but the setting was a good choice.
Magicraft is so good boyos
I installed it for the first time and threw most of my free time the last two days in it because of this post. It's like Binding of Isaac but good
4X game called Zephon came out from the studio behind 40k Gladius. I'm not usually one for 4X games so I chose to play on easy with no computer opponents because I am way more interested in the world they have here.
You have various aspects of humanity, some tainted, others cybernetic, others influenced by outsider voices. AI revolution, planetary invasion and outsiders have all fucked the planet up so you're left with trying to make a civ out of it.
This one for example is an incomplete AI construct relegated to a single city yet since I completed this event I can now build a second one.

I never thought about playing 4x games in single player for atsmophere and shit. I'm gonna try that because 4X games always filter me after a few turns normally

Aside from a bunch of visual novels, I’m currently going through the Project Zero/Fatal Frame games. I’m about halfway through Crimson Butterfly right now and fuck, it’s just as unsettling as it was the first time I played it, back when I was a teen.

100%ed this one in a single sitting yesterday:

If you want me to play female centric games, this is how you fucking do it. Good and challenging gameplay with a fun story.
I agree. That's a great game, I haven't played the last 2 yet, I should get one of them next time they go on sale.

Boy you picked a bad game if a complaint is playing the same parts again
Oof...

I used to be a huge Destiny 1 player back in the day, so I redownloaded it, kept all my DLCs and I've been strolling down memory lane. It's harder to play since there are less people to fill out strikes and Crucible now but it's still cool, I remember why I loved it so much compared to the crappy sequel.

But Bungie has detected that people like me exist and they've promised to come in and ruin everything with a remake since too many people are still enjoying the game they didn't ruin.

It's probably one of the best single-player games i've played, its not necessarily repetitive as the story evolves over the playthroughs. Though I am biased as i like the game. Fuck the final arena boss though as humorous as that side quest is.

Currently playing NFS Most Wanted.
I have yet to find a racing game that beats Most Wanted or Carbon, dunno what it is about these two but any other racing game is not as satisfying as those.

Maybe I am getting old or it's just nostalgia, but these days I vastly prefer (re)playing old games, whenever I look for stuff on Steam everything just seems mediocre. My only purchase this year was Animal Well, can recommend. Can get hard at times but the game feels very rewarding when you figure stuff out.

Great. We will see Bungie shoehorn a bunch of fag flags and MTX into the game.

Imagine TBOI but every fun item wasn't nerfed into the ground and became useless?
I haven’t played TBOI in a long time, did they really nerf all the OP items into the ground? If so, why?

I’ve been playing:
  • Lies of P - just finished my first run and started NG+
  • Battlefield 2042 (the fps I play at the monent whenever I want to feel good about myself through getting a high kd - digital junk-food)
  • Monster Hunter World (on and off with crown hunting, I wanted to fully complete it before Wilds because it’s unlikely I’ll return when it comes out).

The creator has a long standing crippling fear of TBOI being considered too easy. Combining this with is apparent design philosophy of "if every run is interesting, none of them are" has caused the last few expansions to be bogged down with item bloat. For every new interesting item, there are 5 more that are just "like X but worse."
