What are you playing right now?

Have you seen Skillups review? I haven't personally played it but according to him light and medium armor types aren't designed to be viable and you pretty much need to spec heavy or be 1-2 shot.

No, but it's definitely true. That's why I play it like Bloodborne and constantly dodge strife.

Got a few games for Christmas but the one I started was DragonQuest Builders 2. I really enjoyed the first one so I was pretty stoked for a sequel. The very first part of the game kind of drags and I was a bit worried that the camera controls were so fucky, but as soon as I got past that first part and the game, you know, started I wasn't having any trouble. There's quite a few changes between the first and second that make building much easier and more intuitive, which I'm happy about. I'm excited to see what else is new.

Farming gets intoduced right away in 2, as opposed to 1 where it doesn't come up until later in the second chapter. Also YOUR TOWNSPEOPLE ACTUALLY DO SHIT! Once you establish a space as a field using a cute little scarecrow they will automatically begin tilling, and they will water what you plant. There is also a giant worm friend to assist your soil optimization needs.
Leveling up via fighting is now a thing, which in the previous game your character is explicitly stated to never get stronger through combat, you needed a certain powerup to get any more HP. Now you can get HP boosts and your buddy Malroth will get a strength boost.

Finished up Fallout New Vegas and later found out there's a Postgame mod that takes all of the ending slides into account. Like Securitrons/NCR/Legion taking positions all around the Vegas areas and places like Helios One. Also, things like Rex being dead and gone if you didn't get him a brain are also implemented.

It's not a 100% perfect mod, but it's cool nonetheless.

I’m loving what I’ve played of New Vegas so far.

Also playing Farcry 5, Super Mario 3D Land and Spyro Reignited Trilogy.

Every FF from 9 on is coming to Xbox Game Pass later this week.
This soon? I thought they were going to spread them out through 2020.

Not complaining, I've been looking forward to giving the series a spin ever since they announced they were going to GP.

If your not against it, I highly recommend modding your 3DS with homebrew. It takes about 20 minutes to do and is super easy. You can get Nintendo's entire handheld library for free if you know where to find the .cia files.

I tried My Friend Pedro. I love the obvious Hotline Miami influence but it lacks the one thing I loved about Hotline Miami: the difficulty. It just feels like it's way too forgiving and you're just forced to use Bullet Time 99% of the time which is kind of boring. Uninstalled that one.

Going to try Outer Worlds soon-ish and maybe finally -now that I have a new rig- play Demons Souls on that PS3 emulator.

Edit: I tried Outer Worlds, barely scratched the surface and I'm liking it. Playing it on Hard because I tried the hard core setting in New Vegas and just thought it was tedious and annoying.

Just started and finished Akalabeth: World of Doom/Ultima Zero

This is what the cover art looks like:

this is what the actual game looks like:

And oh yes it plays as you would fear. Clunky, obtuse controls, no real sense of direction, and requires food resources in order to move every step(and if it gets to zero you die). However like all good WRPGs (and Akalabeth is considered the first WRPG) you have exploits out the ass to make your time easier. Also read the instruction booklet scans. There's also map scans of the world and dungeons online but you gotta pick the exact lucky number at the start(the difficulty has no real consequence on the RNG so set it to 10 to get the true ending)

Lizard man exploit when you pick Mage as your starting class

and here's the map scans which are from picking Lucky Number 6

After you're done reading the instructions, between the lizard man exploit and the maps you'll have it beaten in around an hour.

The game is free on GOG

The version you want to play is the 1998 Windows version because it allows saving and therefore the way to do the Lizardman exploit. It also has sound and color which the original version lacks. The 1998 version is located in the Extras folder in the GOG version.

I just finished REmake for the 9000th time so decided to buy some random games I've been meaning to pick up for a while. Dark Souls Remastered and Onimusha Warlords were on offer on PSN so I picked both of them up. Really enjoying Dark Souls so far, just getting to grips with it. Luckily I beat and obsessed over Nioh for most of last year so it's not so bad playing Dark Souls now, I just don't wanna miss anything.

There’s DLC for monolith now that feels like a full sequel and it’s amazing.
Anyone with any interest in twin-stick roguelites should go drop the 11$ for game+dlc in the steam sale, it’s at the point where it’s as good as binding of Isaac if not better.
