What are you playing right now?

Now that my semester's over and done with, I decided to reward myself for all the hard work with some low-effort gaming. I ended up getting back into MapleStory, having heard about how it's changed since I last played in 2008... and holy shit has it changed. I love it so much. So many different classes. A much gentler leveling curve. An occasionally compelling and interesting storyline. And I need to bring up the leveling curve again - I don't need to grind for a year to get to the goodies now. Most of my characters - over 20 of them since I started two weeks ago - are at their 3rd job advancement (of a total of 4). (And as of a few minutes ago, my second one hit the 4th job.) It's mostly flash and little on substance, and when you think about the flash there isn't much variety to it, and all my characters look like androgynous anime babbys, but I don't care. I'm done working hard for a while. I think I'll spend a few more weeks gorging myself on instant gratification.

I got back into Monster Hunter 4. I'm got up to the rank nine story quests. I'm almost there of getting to the rank rank storywise.

I'm also got really into the Devil Survivor 2 remake. I'm on the Triangulum arc since I remembered most of the main story's events. Every aspect work so well in this game. This might replace Devil Survivor 1 as my favorite Megaten game.

Toukiden Kiwami. I figured I'd give it a try, and to be quite honest I'm not particularly enjoying it. 20 hours or so in and it's still mindnumbingly easy and repetitive. Some of the weapons are fun though, I enjoy the fists. Not sure if I can stomach playing it through to completion unless it opens up into something more challenging soon.
I think the moral here is that if you wanna play a monster hunting game, just play Monster Hunter.

I also just discovered that the Dark Half translation is finally done, so I'll be playing this for the rest of today. Perhaps now they'll get on and finish that Majin Tensei translation...

I'm playing The Secret World; and its pretty damn awesome!

Killer story, literally, and great skills system. Combats a little slow but I'd give the whole game a 8/10!

Its B2P so give it a try; the 1st chapter is pure cthulhu mythos.

If you've recently started, PM me if you want someone to help you out. I've got a Hammer/Shotgun tank build, and an in-progress Pistol/AR support build on another character.

Otherwise, I'm playing Dragon Age (Origins and Inquisition), Dead Island, and Champions Online.

Nah I'm good thanks;

My Templar is pushing 700 points and I'm working on Egypt. Almost got my Paladin build finished at long last!

Playing through FFIX again.

I was kinda worried it wouldn't be as good as I remembered it being. As it has been a couple of years since I last played and my taste in games has changed a little.

Thankfully that hasn't been the case so far.

Honestly this Final Fantasy aged pretty well compared to the other PS1 FFs. Sure the battle system a little slow, but everything else is great. Even the CGI cutscenes still looks good for PS1.

I bought Dark Souls on Steam, and rebuilt my Marluxia (depicted in my avatar) in about 10 minutes.

Binding of Isaac: Rebirth and Game Dev Tycoon. Both addicting as fuck to me.

Built some shitty-ass roads in Cities:Skyline. Going to have to tear down a few districts and start from scratch.

Why would I be stupid enough to think two side-by-side two lane roads would make a decent arterial goddamn

I got OpenArena again just because Fatman said he was playing it in one video and forgot it was a pretty dank game for Quake 3's autistic clone. I might grab the actual Quake 3 though.
