What are you playing right now?

And for lighthearted measure, my husband and I played Metal Wolf Chaos XD recently. Made me laugh my ass off.
Ah yes, the living proof that a game that is overwhelmingly American can only be made by the Japanese. Until the president of current year jumps in a giant robot and continuously yells "I AM THE PRESIDENT...OF THESE UNITED STATES!" I'll continue to believe this country is doomed.

Warhammer 40k: Dakka Skwadron. It's an arcade flight combat game where you're an Ork flyboy fighting to get the local Orkz united and go on a WAUUGH!

The controls are too responsive, the guns can't hit the broad side of a barn, and you can purchase melee upgrades for your planes. It's silly and Orky and a good time-waster after work.

I downloaded the Skyrim Modding Essentials (Fixes & Tools) Wabbajack modlist, and I am playing with visual mods. My goal is to make a better looking Skyrim without removing its iconic look.

Here's a quick screenshot:

I love 90's fpses, but somehow I missed Blood. I decided to pick it up - and I like it! Probably the best of all the Build engine games with tight level design and a unique arsenal. Monomox and fearbooks!

Just finished Thief Deadly Shadows, and with it, all three games in the original Thief trilogy.

Overall, while Metal Gear is still my favorite stealth series, Thief comes in at a very, very close second. I can finally also say now that, having also beaten System Shock 2 and Deus Ex 1, I also now have immersive sims as one of my favorite game genres, along FPS and Stylish Action.

Just beat the first Metro game; only complaint is the insanely annoying mouth breathing whenever you put on the gas mask.

Who the fuck thought that was a good idea?

Been playing Morrowind and Skyrim. I've already beaten Skyrim twice before but that was on console and I wasn't really paying attention at all. I think this was my 3rd time buying Morrowind and 2nd buying Skyrim. Fucking Todd.

I know what FPS is. Those others sound made up.
Stylish Action are games that have you killing enemies in the most creative and, well, stylish way possible (Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, Astral Chain, etc), and immersive sims are games that allow for multiple different gameplay approaches via the usage of the game's systems (Thief, System Shock, Deus Ex, etc).

I have been playing HEARTBEAT. The game's Devs come up in alot of threads for being the target of an anti-TERF crusade and that lead to alot of people I know buying it.

I got the game on recommendation and its actually pretty damn good. The TERF ideology only manifests as all of the playable characters being girls. Pretty good gameplay and story.

About to start playing Soma for the first time, once I can tear myself away from the GTA San Andreas nostalgia trip.

Diablo 2.
Since the news about Resurrected came out, I decided to get back into the game. The updated graphics but identical gameplay looks like exactly what I wanted Diablo 3 to be. That said, I don't have a lot of experience with the game so I'm still learning stuff.

So, I dusted off the ol' Wii and am replaying Red Steel 2. That game is a perfect example of learning from the mistakes of the first Red Steel. The most notable mistake was the art direction. Red Steel was a pixelated, blocky, boring mess trying to depict Yakuza. Red Steel 2 went with a more cartoony, Tartokovsky-esque style. The characterization was better too as it went from generic Yakuza story to one dimensional Western. The difference was the latter embraced its corniness and that made the characters more fun to watch. Most importantly, 2 let me use the sword at all times. Red Steel was a generic FPS that occasionally had swordplay, which created the ludo-narrative dissonance of "why am I carrying a sword if I'm carrying an FN Scar?" 2 inverted this relationship with firearms serving more as tools that can do damage to peons. It was clear in Red Steel 2 that the sword was generally more useful.

Still had lots of loading screens as the Wii had the processing power of a PS2, but that was a technical limitation for its time.

Modded KSP has taken over my whole life. I installed mods that added other star systems and the parts to be able to reach them, because Kerbol wasn't enough for me.

Some of my builds so far:

Eldorado-class 320-ton Interstellar Science Vessel (incredibly badass; landed on a planet with 44 atmo pressure and 600 kelvin surface temps and survived; can basically go anywhere and can water-land on aquatic planets, or even fly like a zeppelin with the negative mass from its warp drives):

I'm streaming the original Deus Ex (Revision, original models and music, and Shifter enabled) on a friend's Discord server. The younger gamers are constantly surprised at how much freedom the game gives the player, and I've been building JC based on their suggestions (they're leaning heavily towards a melee tank setup, which has been fun). It's been a fun nostalgia trip while showing the younger ones you don't need fancy 4k graphics snd Keanu Reeves to have a good game.
